"The customer is always wrong". Hillside insisted I pay a bill for about $280 from November 2022…read morethat they knew was incorrect because it included pruning that was not done. Owner Jim Hoteling in March 2023 told me that my failure to pay their bill raised "a red flag". He refused to send a revised bill and refused to restart service. Subsequently, I estimated the cost of the work that entailed blowing leaves that I myself missed as $150, sent Hillside a check for $150, and hired another landscaping company. Note that back in November I contacted Hillside that their bill was incorrect, but received no response. As I told Hillside, I am the sole caretaker of a terminally ill husband. Hillside's work was average but I wanted to keep them for the sake of continuity in my life of upheavals. I begged them to send a correct bill and restart service. I find their insulting and dishonest behavior to be sick.

John immediately came over, walked the property and gave a good assessment of the trees that needed to be removed. Some of the trees, though healthy, had grown too tall for an urban setting. We had our wedding here in July of 2021, rescheduled from October 2020. All sorts of things came up…read morethat we're never told to us during our initial meetings. Management is lazy, tried to tell us we couldn't have more than 150 people (this is after all Covid restrictions were lifted this past summer). When we pushed them on this they allowed us 200 People max. Keep in mind their website says seating up to 350 people. Then they told us we needed to rent our own chairs for under the tent because their chairs would be set up for the outdoor ceremony (none of this was ever told To us before when we originally met and told them We had a number of 250-300 people). The day of our wedding we were told we could come anytime and take our pictures. We showed up at 430 for pictures, guests starting arriving at 530 but weren't allowed in until six or so. The contract says you have five hours and we ended our event at 930. Even if you count 530 as the start time (even though staff didn't do anything since guests were held in the parking lot) our event did not go 5 hours yet we were charged for overtime!! So did not get our security deposit back due to that nonsense. Also the venue wouldn't allow us to have a decorator and said they would do it all themselves.... Well when they realized they were not able to decorate the tent adequately they finally allowed a decorator. It was very hard to get in touch with anyone there either during the planning process we often sent 3 or 4 emails or texts before we got a response. It's a beautiful venue but not worth all the BS they put you through. Super hard to work with, lots of hidden costs and just not professional people. Would not recommend!!!

Hired A Great Choice to relevel a stone patio that they originally installed…read more When releveling was completed I could already see that the patio was not level and water was pooling/draining close to the house. Called the office at least half dozen times to get someone over to fix bad levelling. Second visit did not improve the problem, and the stone step was never glued properly and has loose stones. The entire patio now slopes toward the house and all water on the patio drains toward the house. The end result is that the patio is worse than before they releveled. I would give zero stars if I could. Total rip off. Terrrible customer service.
