I've lived at Northern View Housing for about 4 years and have stayed in both the apartment-style and townhouse-style units. Having a washer and dryer in the apartment is a huge plus and makes life so much easier. The community is very student-friendly, which makes it feel safe and comfortable. I can walk around without feeling scared, which is really important to me. They also have a clubhouse where residents can hang out, do activities, and enjoy free coffee. The staff and maintenance team are extremely friendly, caring, and always willing to help. Everyone is so sweet and welcoming. As an international student, this place truly feels like a home away from home. I would definitely recommend Northern View Housing. It's within walking distance to NKU and the NKU Campus Recreation Center, which makes it even better. read more

My daughter accidently signed a lease with them thinking this was Univeristy housing. She is located a thousand miles away right now. They refused to let her get out of the lease the day after she signed and told her she needs to pay thousands. She has never even stepped foot into this place. Her father is a disabled veteran which is the reason she was even going to Kentucky. Now she might not even be able to go to school with this debt. read more

Absolutely do not live here. About a month ago I slipped on ice in the parking lot and got a concussion. I ended up with $2000 in medical bills as well as missing weeks of work and school. When I told northern view about this they told me it was my fault and it is not their responsibility to salt the parking lot. On top of that, I am being forced to pay to park here when in my leasing agreement it states in plain writing that there is no fee to park here for myself or my guests as long as they have a parking pass. Office staff is horrible. Wyatt went to the bar my roommate works at and made her so uncomfortable that she doesn't want to go to the office anymore. None of them actually care about customer service. I would not recommend living here to anyway. I don't care how much of a broke college kid you are, do not live here. read more

Convenient: yes. Quality: no. Meadowview is right at the rear entrance to NKU, just across from the sports fields and student union. At first glance, this may seem like a great place for student living, particularly since the rent is significantly lower than neighboring apartment complexes. Here's the catch: Meadowview is an apartment community for low-income housing. Not "low income" as in poor students. Think low income, single mother, four kids. I've seen a lot of unsupervised children running around this place. Definitely not a neighborhood of college folks. As such, residents must be qualified to live in low-income housing. It's not uncommon for students to be denied due to having too much money. Who would have thought - college students being considered wealthy? Meadowview offers two and three bedroom apartments, some units with an upstairs and downstairs. Large walk-in closets, dishwasher, balcony, and laundry hookups come in every place. Playground, basketball court, and storage units are on the property as well. The walls are pretty thin, and the front door feels more like a bedroom door than something protecting you from the outside world. The complex itself is laid out in a giant U shape. It's challenging to find parking in the evenings; it's also difficult for guests to find a parking space. The streets surrounding the apartments, especially the main entrance, are littered with potholes. You'll also notice bits of trash lying around too. If you're looking for an affordable apartment with lots of bedrooms, this place isn't for you. Chance are, you earn too much money to live there. Northern View - Apartments Near Me - Highland Heights, Kentucky

Don't even consider this place I've lived in a few different places in northren Kentucky and this has been by far the worse experience of them, not only are they charging an unreasonable amount for rent ($1615 for a 2 bedroom apartment) but they have the audacity to increase the rent over 100$ months even tho apartments complexes who are right down the road who offer more things for you to do are going up less then 30$. They want to credit the rise in rent to the economy but I don't think they understand that the rest of us are in the same boat we all have to deal with a higher cost of living, while other apartments are trying to help there occupancy northern view has decided to gouge more money from us while offering less. Now I also spend an extra 60$ a month to have my own parking space since there isn't enough room for everyone's cars in the complex but I got an email saying I'd have to pay an additional 25$ for a parking pass and if i don't fork over the money there going to put a windshield boot on my car? In what world do you pay extra for parking only to pay more to park in the spot you're already parking for? If you ask me there are plenty of places in Northern Kentucky who offer more for less. read more

I've lived at Northern View since 2017 and have had a great experience. It's conveniently located near NKU and TANK bus stops. I also love the fact that I only pay a flat fee which covers rent, wifi, utilities, maintenance, salting of sidewalks, landscaping, trash, etc. Each apartment also has its own washer and dryer There are hammocks, a firepit, a grill, pizza oven, walking trails, and a clubhouse. The beauty of the leases is that everyone is on their own lease and so it removes the hassle of having to find roommates. Definitely great value! read more

Never live here, whatever you do. They stole my identity and committed fraud against me to set up their bulk WiFi in my information they took from my application. They did this without my permission and stole sensitive information from me. If they didn't pay their WiFi bill I would have been held financially responsible, ruining my credit. -First bad sign moving in here is that they told me I could live in this room with two other people because one was moving out. Signed a lease and everything. 2 weeks before move in I'm informed that she is no longer moving out and I will have to live somewhere else at a higher rent. Gave me a "discount" on rent from $650 to $605 for a master bedroom in their 2 bed apartment. -Decided to move in, unfortunately. The "staff" here are the worst people you have ever talked to. They are incompetent, rude, lie to you, smart alecks, all with a smile on their face. They patronize you and believe you are below them, simply because you rent from them. They are so incredibly fake and have no clue what customer service is. Apparently under "new" management. Amber informed me that fraud is not a big deal and we shouldn't be mad. Treated me with disrespect for the fact I pointed out their wrongdoings. Wyatt is rude on the phone and blatantly to your face. - I then wanted to move into a 3 bedroom with some new roommates. Paid $535 for the middle sized room. Smallest room paid $545 (because they were new renting there) and master paid $650. They told me the apartment was ready a week early and I should move in so they could get the new person in. This ended up them rushing me out and doing nothing to improve the apartment. They didn't even do any maintenance checks or cleaning. The apartment was absolutely disgusting. Layers of dirt and grime on the floor, spiderwebs, gross carpets, broken things, etc. Informed them in the office and was told the "cleaners" would come back. Next day comes and nothing was done so I was forced to clean it all myself while all my new stuff was in there. Tried to complain to Stephanie in the office but she got mad at us and forced us out the door. Then came to my apartment and gave me a $200 visa gift card if we "could move past this." - Parking is horrible. Never enough spots and you are given one resident pass and one visitor pass. I was never informed visitor parking was in designated areas and they towed my friends car with the visitor pass hanging in the car. Had to go Wreckers Tow service and pay $150 to get the car back. Told Courtney in the office and she told me there was nothing she could do and I should have known. - The apartments are horrible quality. There are so many layers of paint on the walls that a command hook will peel it off. Constantly requesting maintenance and the only good thing is that they are okay at fixing stuff. Although maintenance is rude and will intrude into your apartment if you don't answer the door in the first 30 seconds of knocking. They smoke cigarettes on your patio and leave the butts. My hot water heater broke and soaked the carpet of my roommates room. - I used to have my own WiFi through Cincinnati Bell then the apartments started to provide it. I cancelled my service and their service (still with Cincinnati Bell) started. Paid $15 extra in rent per person. Wouldn't find out until I was moved out that they stole my information to create a bulk WiFi account. - In short, this place is only here to rip you off and give you glorified dorms. read more

Northern View Apartments is easily the best place to live while at college. The rates are better than the dorm rooms at NKU, so you are actually saving money compared to on-campus living. Plus all the utilities are included, and the maintenance staff is incredibly responsive. I submitted a request, and less than 20 minutes later the maintenance crew was at my door prepared to fix it. The safety at N.V. is top notch. Neighbors are friendly. They have great amenities like the nature trail, hammock village, fire pit, community grill and hangout area, and free coffee and tea! The parking situation can be a bit frustrating when it is cold outside and I have to park far away from my apartment, but that is something you just have to live with sometimes. Beyond all the great things Northerview has, their customer service and friendly front office staff is top-notch. Been living here for over two years now, and have been able to form life long friendships with the staff. You are well taken care of at Northern View. Highly recommend :) read more

Only positive thing is that it is a convenient location near NKU. Meadowview (now Northern View) takes advantage of that by charging an absurd amount of money for average-quality apartments. They also take advantage of the fact that the majority of their residents are college students who don't know any better when signing leases, or who don't fully understand their tenant rights. There are no amenities whatsoever. The office staff is incredibly incompetent, manipulative, and bad at their jobs, though usually polite to your face. Maintenance is incredibly slow unless it is an absolute emergency, and even then, some of the maintenance workers are creepy and unprofessional. I would recommend no one live here, and search for other apartments if location near NKU is really an issue for you. It is called "Ghettoview" for a reason. They have recently undergone renovations, but the high rent you are paying is still not worth it. I've been meaning to write this one for a while, but there's a lot to cover. I lived in an apartment at Meadowview for three years (August 2011-August 2014) and have both negative and positive stories about my experience. My apartment: -Floorplan: Clover -Bedrooms: 2 (one master with attached bathroom) -Bathrooms: 2 full Safety: I felt safe at Meadowview, walking to NKU every day without issue both day and night. I also walked to the Kroger down the road on some days and nights. The area is generally safe and I never had any altercations with other neighbors or locals. The community is young, and loud at times, but it's a relaxed atmosphere overall. Pros: -The exterior walls on the sides of the clover floor-plans are thick. You won't hear the people on your sides. -Staff. -Very private. As long as you keep to yourself, people keep out of your business. -Spacious. -Nice view out back. -I had a first floor apartment that was one story below entry level from the parking lot, meaning it was naturally cool in the summer and we used less electricity when it was warm/hot. -The parking lot is mostly well-lit at night. -Pet-friendly. -They hold events all the time (cookouts, etc.). -Cons: -Random quarks in the apartment just happen - they're not the best in quality, but they're not awful (no bugs other than seasonal fleas). Mine always had random issues with water leaks, especially since I lived on the first floor and any flooding from the apartments above me trickled down to me. -Living on the first floor of a clover means people's headlights shine into your bedroom. I highly suggest some blackout curtains if you ever plan on sleeping in past 7am and your bedroom window faces the parking lot. -You will definitely hear upstairs neighbors tromping around. Especially if they wear clogs as mine tended to do. -Interior walls (between bedrooms) are kind of thin, but it wasn't usually a big deal. -During some patches throughout the years there were issues with people picking up their dogs' poops. Those were dark times. Longer stories/comments: -The community was, at one point, government-funded low-income housing. There was a maximum income and you couldn't have an apartment full of students. They changed that in 2011 and that's when my friends and I, as well as a lot of other NKU students, were able to move in in droves. The community is tailored towards students now, so the review by "Paige M." from 2012, and any others similar to it, are out of date now and do not reflect their current policies. -Meadowview, so I've heard, does leasing differently now. You do individual leases for each bedroom in the apartment now, instead of one lease for the entire apartment (the latter is the way it was done while I lived there). At one point we had four people in a two bedroom and our individual rent was below $200 each (except mine, which was higher because I had a pet fee). You can talk about the quality of the apartments all you want, but if you were a student on a budget then Meadowview with friends was far more preferable to a dorm room in both cost and quality and was, for us, a better option than other apartments in the area that are nicer but with smaller square feet. We had a person living in the living room if that tells you much about our group's willingness to make concessions for cost. However, now that rooms are individually leased, they charge more per apartment. It's still probably a better deal than campus housing. I give it three stars from my experience living there on a tight budget, but I imagine my opinion might change if I lived under their new regime. I mean, sure, it's cool that they're offering an alternative to dorm living for people that don't know anyone interested in sharing an apartment with them, but they didn't have to monopolize on offering this service so much - I heard three bedroom per-month costs increased by at least $200 per month based on the amounts I'm hearing for individual leasing compared to the amount overall for a three bedroom just last year. I'd love to hear Meadowview address this actual increase on rent-per-apartment in at least some cases. -The parking here sucked really, really bad at one point (issues with guest parking and labeling of parking). Since then they've relocated guest parking, re-paved the lot, and in general they make sure tenants have enough spaces. The only time that having a parking pass for NKU is relevant might be during the cold weather. Or, get boots, scarves, mittens, and don't be lazy. -They changed the way they manage their water bills. I think they passed on a lot of maintenance costs to us in the change, because our bills increased substantially. Overall, the staff was nice/helpful and a lot of the areas I find important (cost, safety, privacy, and convenience to campus) ranked highly. I would recommend NKU students check them out, especially if you don't have a car and you're considering dorm living AT ALL. You'll far prefer Meadowview to dorms. read more

Maintenance smokes on your patio while working and leaves their cigarette butts out there, had maintenance workers repaint something in the living room and got back and all of my furniture was out of place, they left paint cans and got paint on my couch, they turn the water off to the apartment to do maintenance without warning. They do not tow on nights and there is constantly nowhere to park for residents. The paint on the walls can be rubbed off with water and the doors are made of cardboard. Do not waste money on this place. The workers are very dismissive and overall creepy. It's a cheaper option in the area for a reason. Go somewhere else!! read more

Meadowview is convenient since it's right across from NKU but they raised their rent this year, 820 per month for 2 bedroom 2 bath. Staff is nice and they put on events for students like free donut Friday, car washes, free pizza sometimes and cooking competitions. Noise level is high especially with students blaring their music and with loud car engines. My apartment smelled like smoke when I first moved in and now it has nicotine marks seeping from some of the walls. You can hear every car that passes by especially if you're near the front entrance. Parking sucks and other students who live in the back if the U use the spaces up front during the school year which leaves no parking for those who actually live up front. Walls are pretty thin. There's a nice trail behind meadowview to walk your dog but there's a ton of trash and litter back there also. I wish they had a separate recycling unit but they don't. They just redid their pavement and installed a trash compactor which was nice except the compactor gets filled really quick. You can hear neighbors outside if you live in 2 bed 2 bath. I hate how the trees dirty my car up during the summer. Cabinets and interior are all old and need updated. There's a good amount of storage. The only thing keeping me here is the location. read more
