So many different breeds of beautiful dogs eager and excited to play with each other, and their parents, as well. And, of course, they can play alone if they desire...Miller Meadows is large enough for you and your pup to have his/her own space to do whatever they like. And, I often get my daily steps in when my doggy and I are at Miller Meadows. There are close to 2 Laps inside the park for a mile. I often get in 10 miles (20 laps) while we're there...No less than 5 miles. And Miller Meadows is one of the Cook County Preserve Parks, and the dog park is just one area of Miller Meadows. There is a beautiful, amazing path/trail on the outskirts surrounding the dog park with a breathtaking walking scenery of forestry, and wild life...the doggies love the deer. And of course, the path is great for not only walking your doggy, but for biking, jogging, rollerblading/skating, and health walking. There are several picnic tables if you wish to relax sit/eat/chat while watching your dog play; and several stations with poop bags. But, THERE IS NO WATER FOUNTAIN/SUPPLY in the dog park...So, the parents bring water, and we keep the many water pans (already there) filled with water for our doggies. Come for a visit...You'll Love It!!

Most owners act responsibly and remove a dog that might be over zealous. As always be prepared with water especially on a warm day. On-site waste bags help keep the field mostly clean of the poop.

This dog park has definitely seen better days, but we still enjoyed it. There was nothing…read moredangerous, it could just use some updating/love. Contrary to what others have noted, there is not free parking here but there is a lot right next to the park. You still have to go through the gate at the front parking lot to get there and it's Metropolis so they charge how long you parked there by your license plate. We were there less than an hour and it was $4. There were only a few other dogs and owners during our visit and everyone was nice/respectful. My dog and I have done an agility class before, so we had fun trying some of the different obstacles set up. Its a nice idea to have everything in the park made up of recycled materials too - very unique. I wish there was an easy way to donate since I think it's a community-run park - maybe add a Venmo QR code sign? Seems like the park could use some help but maybe it just hasn't been refreshed yet for the upcoming summer season. Either way, love the location right in Jackson Park so we were able to also walk around some of the trails.

One is specifically for small dogs, but that doesn't mean they can't go into the regular park. There are picnic tables for owners to sit, but I wouldn't recommend trying to have an actual picnic on them. Dogs love to jump on the tabletops. There are also supposed to be doggy pick-up bags, but I didn't see them. I only know about them because some woman, apparently the poop police, approached me and suggested that I "clean up after [my] dog" since I didn't do it immediately as I was having a conversation with someone. Apparently she could watch my dog do its business but couldn't be bothered to notice I came prepared with a bag dispenser. You know, because I just carry around my own bags on my dog's leash as a fashion accessory. They've recently done some construction in the area for the better. There is now a very pretty paved pathway with bricks and some of them are custom ordered by people who donated to the park. It's still a work in progress and I can't wait to see all the other updates.

It is three acres and is divided into two different sections, a big dog yard and a small dog yard. The big dog yard is located on the South side and the small dog yard is located on the North side. Both yards are completely fenced in and enclosed. Each yard has water bowls, toys, trash cans, doggy waste bags, doggy tubes and picnic benches. The surface of each yard is cover with wood mulch and wood chips. The small dog yard even has a fake fire hydrant for the doggies to air themselves out on. Just a dogs dream. The park is maintained by the Wood Dale Park District but they ask that you be responsible and supervisor yourself. I have met many friendly and interesting people there with all different types of K9s. The park is great for Families and friends. There is no registration or fee to use the park and visitors are welcome. Many visitors and Wood Dale residents use the park. Just North of the park in an old historic cabin and a kids park. It is an ideal set-up for the Family. The park has always been clean and safe. Employees of the Park District and the Wood Dale Police make periodic visits to ensure a safe environment. It was very quiet while we were there, the one person we did meet did express concern that our kids were there. I noticed previous poster also said to leave kids at home. I have four kids, three upright and one fur baby. I can't (and wouldn't) "leave them at home" nor do I hire a babysitter so I can take my dog to the dog park. ‍ Please be kind to all the families with dogs and kids. We do our best to respect that this is a "dog park" not a people park. But my kids are excited to run and play with their fur sibling and so long as it's not a crowded day, I feel they should do so without the shaming. We take our dog everywhere, including the people park...and no one has ever told us we should have left our dog at home.
