Giving 1 star because there is not a way to leave anything less. Tech service team never showed for an 8-12 appointment window. Called customer service and there were unable to get tech to called. Wasted a a full day waiting, with no call back after 4 requests. Worst service I have ever seen. Wasted time and money as service drops. If you are in a rural area and have no other choices for fast internet, welcome to the hell that is Vyve. Expect frequent outages, and then one to two weeks to get service restored. Expect power outages to completely take this company down. The absolute worst, and when there are other choices, I'm cutting the cord and leaving so fast. I'm at the 10th hour of my second full day waiting for the confirmed appointment for installation. Customer service is just rude when I complain and says "the tech will be there". Nope. Two full days and no installation. No one at Vyve cares. Why should they? They have a monopoly on service. Well, our elected officials should care at the very least. read more

Another cable service that treats its customers poorly. Had appointment for installation and they never appeared in the four hour window we were given. After waiting another hour we were told they didn't know where their technician was or when he would show up. Based on Google and Yelp reviews this is their standard operating procedure. Northland communications is a nightmare We live in Cashiers, NC and Northland is our only option. They know that and so they take advantage knowing we have no where else to go. It would take to long on Yelp to explain our problems but we have been dealing with them since the Middle of June and today is Sept 8th. Today I have waited for a technician since 8am and it is now 5pm. No phone call or explanation...this has happened all summer. Even called the end of August about why a tech did not show up and they told me the appt had been cancelled but could not tell me why nor did they let us know. The people that are in charge of Northland in the Highlands/Cashiers NC area should be fired! My internet, phone and cable service is intermittent at best...and we pay almost $200 a month. Their service is terrible. Our whole block on Chestnut St in Highlands has been out for over 4 days with only a maybe we can get someone out later this week. Totally unacceptable response. They did upgrades in our area and didn't test their work. What a joke, probably doesn't have any management in this company, at least that are not worth a damn! Frequent internet outages, telephone answering system with long wait time, competent telephone tech reps but who can only solve about 30% of problems without service call. Separate call to local office is needed to arrange on-site service, arrangement has leave-a-message system. Slow call-back -- one hour or more. Poor, poor, poor value for cost. Doesn't really deserve one star. read more

Over two months of calling to get them to even come out and install. They wouldn't believe me that they service my neighborhood even I told them my next door neighbor uses them. When I finally convince them of this, they came and installed only to leave the cable laying the backyard for a week. I called to put in a work order three weeks ago, and they still haven't been out to bury it. The previous reviewer said they have slow call back, I am impressed that she even got a call back at all, I never did. read more

This company must be the worst service provider of internet service in the country. The phone number to the local NC office routes to a centralized customer service center in Texas. The representatives in this center have no knowledge in providing accurate/updated information on local outages (which happen far too frequently) without messaging local technicians. The lack of communication is frustrating and the local office is a joke. If you are moving to Highlands, NC - do your research and save unnecessary heartburn before signing up with this poorly run company. read more

Northland cable epitomizes the company that has the monopoly on service in a particular area. Their service, reliability, and follow up is atrocious. But people have to have cable and they're the only providers in the area so they just keep operating with terrible service. As I've seen others comment, it has taken months to simply get two cable boxes and high-speed Internet up and running. The first few times the tech did not show up on time so I could not meet him. A couple of days he just showed up well beyond the actual appointment I established. Then when they finally installed, he only hooked up one box instead of two and then it stopped working after a few days. It turned out the tech did not test the signal strength coming from the main road. After they fixed that, I discovered one of my cable boxes was not working properly. I drove it to my local Northlands office and did not hear anything back for a week. They don't publish their number so I had to work through the 800 number and it took two days for them to commit to getting me a replacement box. The other thing I can't stand is that I have one giant cable box they provide and it is larger than the first VCR I owned in 1983. Northland you are complacent. You really need to step up your game in today's world where the amount of people cutting the cord increases. read more

Worst cable company every. I am against yelp, in fact I hate yelp. However, I am so disappointed with this company that felt I had to write my first yelp review. Horrible cable. I wish there were other options in the small town in which I live. No HD. DVR only records in broken up segments. So sad I miss the shows I like because of them. Plus no AMC, no walking dead. On one positive note. The guy that set it up was great. read more
