This place is only for kids or adults that love trains. Anyone else shouldn't go. It was boring.

Northlandz was very fun! I was pretending I was on each train as we walked around. I can't wait to come back with my brother!

If you or your child has ever had a model train set, this place must be seen! Intricate attention to detail. Imaginative vistas. Sly humor and a true love of railroading. AND if you enjoy music, the owner, designer, builder, Engineer and master of ceremonies is an accomplished organist who often plays to entertain on one of five or six full pipe organs in the main inside courtyard. Wheelchair friendly ramps throughout. The path through the exhibit is long in order to offer several perspectives of the fantastical mountains, valleys, villages, cities, factories, mines, houses, bridges, tunnels, and outhouses. The various viewing angles highlight intricacies and fresh ways to see this amazing feat. A Guinness World record display. Give yourself plenty of time because you won't want to rush through. With all the negative reviews about the place looking old/dated, I went in with modest expectations and I was thrilled. It took about 90 minutes to cover everything at a decent pace. It's an engineering feat in how they managed to pack so many railway tracks and trains in an indoor space. It's bridges and tracks run into several levels. The railway tracks carry electricity to drive all the trains through all the meandering bridges and tunnels. The experience gets better more immersive as you go past the first 30% of the exhibits. I would strongly recommend visiting for toddlers and adults of all ages. read more

Went to Northlandz with my wife and father-in-law on a Monday in November, so no crowds (we were it) and no COVID stuff needed. This place is truly amazing! I got to the point where I'm thinking "this is definitely worth the money" and I come up on a sign that says I'm 25% through it. We spent about 3 hours going through the whole setup. What is there and how it was done is truly mind boggling! It was soooo much more than I expected. So easy to pass right by this unassuming building and never know what's inside! Also, once we showed up, the folks there helped us get on the site by phone to get a great discount. Go see it! read more

Brought my 5 and 1 year old here the other weekend. Oy. The man at the desk was very nice and helpful. While my 5yr likes trains, we were through the place in less than an hour. It is a very cool place to visit and the trains and scenery/buildings are amazing. However, the place is a little drab inside. The creepy dolls throughout the place were a little disturbing too. My son even asked, "mom, what's up with these creepy dolls?...." I didn't have much to say, lol! My 1yr old was not the slightest bit interested which isn't a surprise but fortunately the little play area in the middle kept him happy for a little while. They of course have a big gift shop area and also food and drinks for sale. I do think the prices are high and we most likely would not return unless our son specifically required to. read more

My children, 7(girl) and 4 (boy) absolutely enjoyed their time here. I'm sure if we did the scavenger hunt it would have been even more entertaining but I voluntarily said no because my son is 4 and loves to run. They both loved pushing the buttons, looking up, down, ahead, etc at everything. If I went alone or with older kids I would surely have spent more time looking at the cool displays because it was all so interesting and a wide variety of memorabilia. Overall we had an absolutely wonderful time and in a few years I'd love to take them back because I think it's something children could appreciate in a different way depending on their age. Also should note that it is stroller accessible; there is a vending machine in a break area, so bring cash/credit, and there is a gift shop with really great stuff. So much to look at here, the membership sells itself because you need several visits to see it all. You've never seen a setup this large and detailed! Our 4yr old loves the play area to take a little break, and there's some snacks and coffee available that you're allowed to take into the exhibit. Truly a train lover's paradise, there's people walking around of every age. read more

Great place to spend the day. The train exhibits are amazing! The detail and sheer size of the displays are incredible. There is every conceivable gauge of model train represented. Plus you get to see each display from different angles and levels as you walk through exhibit. There are other collections of toys and memorabilia displayed but the train's are the main focus. I have heard they are nearly done with the remodeling and refreshing of the exhibits. Looking to visit again in the spring. read more

We've been here a few times. Prior when the creator owned the location and now the first time since the new management took over. It's great to see how bright and clean things are and that the history of this great place is being honored. If you children loves model trains they will be excited to see them all running on endless tracks. You can spend a few hours here. My boyfriend and I stopped here on out to Six Flags. We were left speechless. There were so many amazing and intricate detaisl and each scene was more breathtaking than the next. Half way through the tour we stopped and talked to Chase. Chase showed us all the controls that are used to operate and run each and every train. He was so knowledgeable about the museum and took time out to talk to us and teach us little fun facts about Northlandz. We will definitely be coming back again! read more

Came during renovations, though not told until after $20 ticket purchase. Very eccentric in nature. Lots of dolls and clown paintings a weird stuff like that. Visuals were typically more odd than realistic. Not actually the largest as claimed. As of 07/27/2019 it's actually the fourth largest. Largest is in Berlin, Germany second is Shartlesville Pennsylvania. More of a tourist trap, like the mystery shack in gravity falls. read more

It's partially under renovation but you can see parts of the exhibit. Brighter colors are noticeable, big improved gift shop and a kids play room are some promising changes. The outdoor train rides on weekends and it also looked renovated. The indoor doll displays looked refreshed. I can't wait to see it when it's all finished. read more

This was fun for a 3yr old who is obsessed with anything Trains.. there's no where to get in trouble.. and boy are there trains! Tons of trains! Also the ride on the outdoor train at the end is great.. But.. the one thing that drove me absolutely nuts about this place were the Disgusting bathrooms! Omg pls get someone in there for daily maintenance of those bathrooms! The stench of urine could be smelled outside the door.. the sinks had DUST on them! I've never! I mean it's a place for families.. I literally wanted a shower when I left that bathroom Hopefully they'll do something about that. read more
