My visit to Woodmere Art Museum was amazing! Each and every piece of art on display is from a Philadelphia based artist, which gives it that special edge and extra authenticity. There are pieces and exhibitions representing the many facets of Philadelphia, and pieces ranging from abstract sculptures, watercolour and acrylic paintings, charcoal drawings... Each with its own unique story. The Art Museum was originally the home of the founder Charles Knox Smith, and even after its numerous expansions and extensions, the original house still remains (with lots of its same furniture e.g. a beautiful chandelier) and houses most of the more historical art pieces. I would definitely recommend visiting when in the area.

What could be better than a crisp fall morning in Chestnut Hill. A very cost effective museum. The adult entry fee is only $10 and potential visitors can also take advantage of free entry on Sunday's. Woodmere also hosts different events throughout the month so be sure to check their website. A very good/fun option if you around this part of town. The outside is littered with sculptures of varying design. I personally spent time around the fountain. There's also plenty of seating space around the grounds. Drinks are not permitted inside, so be sure to finish your coffee before coming in. My favorite exhibit from the visit were the Landscape paintings. Connected heavily to the sights from The StormKing museum in New York. There was also a whole exhibit dedicated to a local Philadelphia artist. I know the showcased exhibit changes, but I'd love to see work from artists of color or even works that include persons of color as I notice a clear lack of diversity in the pieces shown.

I absolutely love everything about the Woodmere! Whether your local or from out of town it's a hidden gem that you must visit and even if you've been before you'll want to come back time and time again. If your looking for something outside of the usual things to do this is it! It's a place where I feel at peace amongst others who love art, creativity, learning and self-expression. The 19th century stone mansion sits on six acres in Chestnut Hill and is dedicated to the art and artists of Philadelphia. So must history and beauty to admire both inside and on the outside grounds of the Woodmere. Every time I've visited I've sensed the diversity and inclusion culture that the Woodmere strives to create. I really love that. I feel like I'm amongst friends when I visit. There's adult classes and workshops, children and teens classes, lectures, teachers and family resources, live Jazz, classical music and much more. When I visit I'm often curious to venture to the children's gallery as it features art produced by children who attend Philadelphia area schools. As a mother that really warms my heart that the Woodmere proudly supports school-based art programs. The Woodmere also has a fun outdoor straw maze in the Fall as well as other family events. The Woodmere is FREE to students, discounted for seniors, and free to all visitors every Sunday.

Woodmere Art Museum, located in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has a collection of paintings, prints, sculpture and photographs focusing on artists from the Delaware Valley. They also feature children' artwork from various schools in the Philadelphia/ Montgomery county area. This visit was impromptu on 12/5. There was little to no traffic in the museum. $10 cover charge. And I spent approximately 45 minutes inside. There is a small shop that has trinkets & bobbles available. The museum is free on Sundays. They have a podcast that tells the stories of Philadelphia artists, quite interesting. They feature various exhibitions and also have various programs like "learn & create" which they have workshops for adults and children. All of that said check it out if your in the area. https://woodmereartmuseum.org

Perfect size art museum to pop into on an exploring afternoon in Chestnut Hill. Our favorite room was the room of historical objects and art from when the building was a mansion. Architecturally, the balcony room was also really cool. We got a Groupon so it was about $5 per person. We also really liked the outdoor sculpture garden area.

I have only been to this museum once and I'm so disappointed I had not heard of it before! The cost for admissions is very reasonable and it is free for students, so that is a huge bonus. The staff is extremely friendly and get involved in visitor's conversations about the artwork. They were outgoing and explained to first time guests how the space is set up. Each room had a different theme including pieces depicting segregation, free love throughout time, and student artists' work from the surrounding area. The main room is a larger space with a balcony wrapped around it, creating a second floor. During my visit there was a Jazz concert going on in that room so I stayed and listened to some of it. These concerts are free for students as well and go on every Friday night from 6-8! I highly recommend this museum to anyone who is intrigued by art that truly makes a statement. The pieces made me consider topics I normally wouldn't think about and opened my eyes to the positivity that can be seen throughout society.

Awesome student rates, front desk was very friendly. A nice place to spend an hour, very easy to get to. I recommend going at 10:30 so it's not so busy! Definitely not some place you'd want to take children, they would be bored the whole time.

The staff was really nice as we arrived a few minutes after our allotted time on our purchased tickets. I struggled with the tightness of the space. Many specimens required me to squat which may not be possible for other guests. There is so much to see but it's in such a tight space, specifically the first floor. Many of the glass cases were also warped which was not easy on the eyes. The museum has great potential if everything was spaced out more. Given that the space is tight, one felt rushed to read everything because there were other guests shoulder to shoulder trying to experience the space. Last week, I planned a last minute day trip to the Philadelphia area and noticed that they had exactly four tickets still open on tours for the rest of the month and they were for the upcoming Saturday at 11am. It was a sign, and I jumped on buying those tickets. How to explain the Wharton Esherick Museum?! Wharton Esherick was an American artist and designer (he's best known for his modernist wood furniture), and - while not a trained architect - he designed this house and studio compound (of four separate buildings) in Malvern to live and work in. By the time he was adding a workshop to the compound in 1955, building codes had made their way into law and Esherick got help from none other than Louis Kahn to help design that building. So what will you see if you visit? Just an incredible home and studio. Esherick was not into straight lines or right angles or wasting perfectly good wood, so the house and studio is an amazing sight: that staircase! the wood floor in the dining room! the concrete extension painted in colors that blend into the natural surroundings! the art and furniture pieces of Esherick's shown throughout the house! It's a hard place to describe, but our tour guide did a marvelous job of teaching us about Esherick and the buildings during our tour, while sharing some woodworking facts and passion, too! Reservations for the tours are required, and they do sell out. Regularly. There's an exhibit on Esherick at the Brandywine right now, and that might be generating more interest than usual in seeing his home and studio - or maybe tours of this amazing place are always this popular?! We did the Experiencing Esherick Tour, which takes you into the home and studio building and lasts about an hour. They offer some specialized tours of more limited days as well - I will definitely be visiting again for the architecture tour which takes you into at least one additional building you don't see on the general tour! The house? Fascinating. Our tour guide? Lovely. The grounds? Beautiful even in December. And a lovely little gift shop in Esherick's old garage where you can do some holiday shopping? Bonus. What's not to love about the Wharton Esherick Museum? I know I'll be returning to bring friends and family to this wonderful place in the future.

I've been to Arte Museum in Las Vegas in 2024 and I really enjoyed all the immersive art rooms. In celebration of BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG', Arte Museum in Las Vegas had a special limited-time exhibition from from May 20 to June 17, 2026. I was internally hoping that when BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' was stopping at MetLife, Arte Museum in New York would be part of the BTS THE CITY 'ARIRANG' and it was! Arte Museum in New York is located at Pier 61 Chelsea Piers and the special exhibition is from July 24 to August 14, 2026. My friends and I took advantage of the Local Residents (New York and New Jersey) ticket price through Fever and booked our tickets. It was easy to use the system even when we had to switch the days. This was also a stamp rally stop, but it was outside and don't need admission to the Arte Museum to get it. We visited the museum on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 6:00pm. A staff member scanned our tickets and told us about the free lockers to store our bags, restrooms through the gift shop, where to start, and no running. He also stamped our hands with a star. All the rooms were very impressive, but I have to say my favorites were the ARIRANG Wave, Flower (Roses & Little Wings), Beach, Star (Milky Way), coloring station, and Garden (The Finale). The ARIRANG Wave room showcases giant, crashing tidal waves confined seamlessly behind massive digital panels and it displays Arirang in korean. The flower room was an infinite, mirrored field filled with falling petals, illuminated butterflies, and blooming roses that react and change when touched. The beach was a serene, illuminated nighttime coastline featuring realistic digital waves and a glowing whale. I really felt like I was on a beach and the waves sounded so realistic. The star is a mirrored infinity room utilizing glowing hanging lanterns to recreate the depth of a starry night sky. The coloring station is where I colored a dragon and after finishing, I scanned it in and watched it appear on a giant shared wall projection. The Garden is a massive signature room that reatured alternating 15-minute visual projection loops paired with specific tracks: No. 29: Minimalist digital landscapes projecting the silhouettes of all seven BTS members alongside the resonance of digital bells; Body to Body: An abstract, vibrant visualization responding dynamically to the rhythm and heavy percussion of the music; Swim: A surreal, multi-sensory deep-ocean environment featuring seven digital orcas swimming around the room; 2.0: A large-format interactive projection room that made guests feel as though they had walked straight into a BTS music video; Into the Sun: The emotional finale segment that connected the cityscapes of Las Vegas, Busan, and New York, symbolizing hope and the bond between BTS and ARMY. I could spend hours in The Garden room. Some of the rooms even had scents. It was a full sensory experience and I enjoyed every second of it. The Arte Museum gift shop was also really nice. I really liked the flower smell from the Flower (Roses & Little Wings) room so I purchased a flower room spray ($14.95). Over the next few days, I saw on social media that Arte museum sells The BTS "Spring Day" Music Box. I don't recall seeing it the day I went, but I sent an inquiry through their website if they had any in stock. The next day, Gwen from the Management Team responded and she said the BTS Spring Day Music Box is in stock, with a cap of 2 per person while supplies last. Due to the exclusivity, high demand, and limited stock of BTS merchandise, they are opening their merchandise shop to only those who purchased admissions tickets. I explained that I was just there on Friday, July 24, 2026 and had purchased something else and sent her all my receipts. She checked with the general manager and I was allowed to visit the Arte Museum gift shop without purchasing another ticket. YAY!! I went back and purchased 2 of The BTS "Spring Day" Music Box ($59.95). Gwen was a pleasure to speak with and she was very understanding. Also, with a purchase at Arte Museum, you will receive a free limited edition shopping bag. It is really nice. I highly highly recommend you to check out Arte Museum. Walking through and taking in all the rooms are definitely worth your time. My friends and I spent about an hour and 1/2 at Arte Museum but you may take longer or shorter. I also wanted to shout out the managers and staff at Arte Museum. They were really helpful.

When I took a look at their events and saw a whiskey & chocolate tasting, um, I was there! Admission is $10 for non-members, but with our $20 event, we got free admission to the museum. I'll explain the museum first, and the event we attended, below. The museum is housed in Thunderbird Lodge, designed by architect, Will Price, who was the father of the Rose Valley craftsmen guild at the beginning of the 20thC. The museum is primarily dedicated to this era in Rose Valley's history, however, there are Native American artifacts, remnants of RV's 18th/19thC. Quaker inhabitancy, and other facets of the borough's history, to learn about, as well. The interior of the lodge is gorgeous! Exposed beams, Arts & Crafts features everywhere, handmade EVERYTHING! Artfully laid fireplace stones, hand-hewn stair railings, leaded glass windows! There were handmade Moravian tiles wherever appropriate (Will Price was friends with Mercer). Just art everywhere! The main room you hit upon entry is where they hold events. Beyond there, you find a sitting room and dining room, arranged for use with original Rose Valley furniture, and period lamps, rugs, and decor, all either made by the original guild, or authentic to the period, and part of the Arts & Crafts style. I saw some Tiffany type lamps, but no Van Erp. Furniture was Stickley style, with a little more rusticism and character, IMO, which adds to the charm. I saw a lot of Art Nouveau pieces, especially in things like candlesticks, pottery, and smaller carved wood decorative objects. Tons of pottery was housed in china cabinets, and glass cases. The woodwork for the trim and built-ins around the lodge is high quality, and beautiful. They are currently restoring it back to its original form (for example, the dining room used to have a curved gold-leaf ceiling). Loads to see, especially if you admire this aesthetic. Since we were there for an evening event, there were various fireplaces roaring, adding so much to the ambiance, as well as candles, and parchment-shaded lamps. It was so cozy and inviting! Upstairs is another large room, which housed a more eclectic array of Rose Valley history. There is a small hand-carved totem pole, papier-mâché animal heads, an original guild worktable, antique train station sign for Moylan-Rose Valley, more original furniture pieces, Plein Air painting, portrait of Price, etc. If you are at all curious about the Arts & Crafts movement, they have truly captured a great feel for its flavor at this museum! ---------------------- Now, the event! I highly recommend trying one of their gatherings! The museum's board was there, and they run things, hands-on, like devoted hospitality ambassadors! They are all so welcoming and friendly. We seriously felt like we'd been invited to a 70-person dinner party, and had conversations with almost all of the board members. They were amazing hosts! Note that this event was sold out, and they had a waiting list, with people at the door hoping to get in. They allow you to sign up online, so if you see something you want, get it! Our tasting was four different rounds of whiskey drink, personally made up by a board member, who knows his stuff. Each round was paired with a chocolate from Shane Confectionery in Philly. Our aficionado announced each round with a fun story, and gave all the details of his ingredients' origins. Every table had ice and water if needed (not for me!). They even went around and offered everyone seconds, and sometimes thirds, on each round... I politely accepted a few of those. We got more than our money's worth, it was amazing! After the tasting, they had a full spread of hors d'oeuvres to help sober up, but, for those hoping to keep the party going, there was also a bar available. Everything was beautifully, tastefully done. I can't wait to try another event!
