We're in…read morethe process of demolishing and repurposing the property and won't require trash service for at least another year, however, when I called to cancel I was told the service agreement (fine print) auto-renews annually and provides a narrow window each year to cancel or the customer is locked in for the remainder of the 12-month term. I can understand requiring a minimum of 1-year agreement on the front end after seven years this is a bad/deceptive business practice. Furthermore, WM will penalize users with an overage fee if the lid isn't 100% flush---even if only slightly raised due to an errant box or item. Not overflowing, just slightly raised. Each time we requested photos and the lid was fully closed but just slightly raised on one corner. To make matters worse, when you call customer service for the local area, the call gets transferred at least three times, sometimes more, before you reach your account representative. Each time the answering rep asks for the complete account identification as if they can help, then puts you on hold, where you wait until the next person answers. And more than once, they disconnected the call after the third or fourth transfer. Frustrating and time-consuming. We will NEVER use WM again. We cancelled the service for our primary home as well.
