Written quotes with the expectations on a job are to protect both the home owner and contractor. Companies that won't give a written quote, in my opinion are shady and the customer won't have any recourse if the job is not done correctly.

Casey, the owner, promptly responded to come out to look at our property and give us an estimate. We needed a lot of very tall pine trees dead branches trimmed , as well as very thick ivy infestation on one of them. Casey is a very knowledgeable arborist, and was able to give us a thorough plan of action. His crew showed up exactly on time the day of scheduled service, and they were very professional. They reviewed the plans with us, and constantly asked if we were satisfied with the work and whether or not we wanted any additional trimming needed. Very polite, professional, and friendly crew. Well, we initially asked them to keep some of the ivy on the one pine tree, for privacy reasons, but the next day, decided it looked too bad and we should have had them trim all of it away. So I contacted them requesting they come back sometime to trim all of it regardless of cost. Of course Casey responded promptly again, and stated they would come back and do it with no extra charge, and asked to remind him the following week. Just reminded him, and he responded it is on there calendar to be done asap. Great value, professionalism, honesty, expertise, and responsiveness. After our free estimate, we were scheduled for the next week. His team were on time and professional. This was a large operation, so we had a crane in our driveway, multiple trucks and a wood chipper on the side of the street, and dozens of huge logs lining the road. They did their best to make sure they were out of the way and respectful of our neighbors' property. They did a great job of working around traffic, making sure all the cars could drive through. The crane guy was AMAZING and did a fantastic job of lifting several large limbs over my house without any problems. When they were finally all done (this was an all day job) they did a wonderful job cleaning the road and my backyard. We originally thought the estimate to be a little overpriced. However, when we saw all of the man power and equipment they brought with them, in addition to their obvious expertise and professionalism, we think it was worth every penny. I definitely recommend.
