Originally, my prescription was for 1 1/2 pills, which meant I had to split a pill each day. At my last routine physical, I mentioned to Dr. Kastl that I had been taking 2 pills instead because it wasn't always convenient to cut them, and the difference in dosage was minimal. She agreed and officially changed my prescription to 2 pills. Six months later, when I requested a refill, I was told I had to schedule a medication check before it would be approved. I scheduled and attended the appointment, which lasted about five minutes and involved no meaningful discussion or changes to my treatment. The following week, I received a $150 bill for that brief visit. I contacted Dr. Kastl multiple times to express my concern and pointed out that, based on my understanding of Michigan law and federal guidelines, the medication I take does not require a mandatory six-month follow-up. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or showing any empathy, my messages were dismissed by simply stating "it's our policy". In this situation, patient care took a back seat to billing. After being a loyal patient for years, I was extremely disappointed by how this was handled. I will not be returning to this practice and would encourage others to carefully consider their options when choosing a primary care provider.

The first time going in where I unloaded a lot of issues and did not have any of my records from other Dr.'s offices transferred, she had tons of information and suggestions to offer about what I was going through. She was prepared to recommend medication, physical therapy, other doctors for different issues, and techniques on how to manage stress and anxiety. The appointments were lengthy to air out any concern I had and the office staff are very responsive to phone calls and questions too. Definitely recommend this location. With my insurance, it's cheaper than the major healthcare facilities and here you can usually get week-of appointments. Once, I even got next day. Major healthcare facilities book 3 months or more out.

If I could give zero stars I would…read more TL; DR - If you are looking for a practice that offers ridiculously long wait times, an incredibly rude front office staff, and medical care that will feel rushed, careless and like they have no clue that they're doing, this is the place for you! Avoid this place. They will see you for 5 minutes after you've been waiting loooooong past your scheduled appointment time. Multiple times we've waited for over an hour to be seen. This was not an isolated incident as it has happened consistently regardless of when the appt is scheduled (morning, afternoon, etc.). If the care we received was worth it, I don't think we'd mind waiting but in multiple visits the PA/NP (Nicole?) has been neither thorough nor compassionate. I wasn't going to leave a review but was truly shocked to see their high rating so felt I owed the community at large a fair warning. Stay away from this practice unless you are looking for a practice that wastes your time and gives you subpar care. There are better places in the nearby area (Troy, Birmingham) who will value your time and treat you with the compassionate care you deserve. If you are already a patient here, I encourage you to find another practice and potentially look into filing a formal complaint through LARA as well as your insurance company if your "care" was as subpar as ours has been, as I will be looking into. This is absolutely appalling. But at least the front office staff is pleasant! Kidding - they're incredibly rude and unhelpful - negativity attracts negativity.
