Although their prices have risen (honestly where have they not) this is still one of the cheapest and best places to get a delicious and filling lunch on Long Island. If you order ahead on the phone make sure to stand on the right side and give them your name. They won't call you and you might spend awhile waiting if you don't let them know you're there for pickup. I like to get a bacon egg and cheese with hashbrown and ketchup, and a medium half and half or Snapple. There's nothing better than eating a BEC and sipping iced tea in the car at the beach. These sandwiches taste the same as they always have and are a true classic. Their heroes and sandwiches are also really good. Get the Godfather (Italian with Genoa salami, pepperoni, cappy, provolone, lettuce onion tomato and dressing). It's not on the menu anymore but you can ask for a hero with chicken salad, bacon, lettuce, and tomato which is a favorite of mine. They include a pickle with every cold sandwich as well. read more

The people here are super super friendly. They always have a smile on their face and the food is very good. It doesn't matter how busy they are, they will always serve you your food with a smile. My boyfriend grew up coming here in high school and he says that the food has not changed. Personally my favorite is the buffalo Bill sandwich or the lumberjack. I had my order taken by a woman (she had a bun) she was very aggressive and wouldn't let me speak to give my order. She kept interjecting with suggestions on what SHE would put on the sandwich. While waiting what seemed to be forever she continued to speak loudly to other people, sometime saying inappropriate things with children in the store and not paying attention to what she was doing and so I paid a lot of money for a sandwich that she felt like making. We usually love Northport deli but over the past year or so they've just become inconsistent in their quality. When it's good it's great but that's no longer consistent. It usually comes down to how long the food is sitting out. We often get one of their specialty deli sandwiches and 1/2 the time the chicken is too tough to eat. My guess is it's the chicken from the day before that's being used on sandwiches. By then it's just dry, tough, and chewy. They'll do right by us- give us a refund if we aren't happy or if they accidentally put something I can't eat on my sandwich, and I appreciate that, but that means we have to go back in-store. I just wish we had the quality of sandwiches that we used to get there and the consistency to expect it :/ read more

This place went from our favorite deli to the worst overnight! The salads, potato salad used to be delicious now they are just plain awful! What happened??? I needed a BEC in the worst way, so I phoned across the street to Northport Deli. Was told, give them 10 mins. Ran across the street after grabbing like, the last can of beans in S&S (needed navy beans, got pink beans, close enough). Quick handoff, sandwich less than $5, got out of there, WASHED MY HANDS, and good grief that BEC blew my mind. Perfectly cooked eggs, nice crispy bacon, roll fresh AF. One star is one star too many. I haven't gone here in years. Why you ask? Because typically I don't want to spend a half an hour waiting on a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. I normally go see Rob downtown, but I didn't have the time to go down there and deal with parking today, so for the first time in years I decided to go back to the Northport Deli. I'm not exactly sure why I thought the times had changed. I had no reason to believe it to be true so much as it was a hope. Well, today was only a confirmation that this place, as it always was, isn't worth the time, aggravation, or money. So within 2 minutes of being there, I have given my order. At first I feel that I'm off to a good start. It wouldn't take long before I was disappointed. Unlike pretty much every other deli on Long Island, they do not offer a coffee or juice with your sandwich. Uncommon, but not the end of the world, I purchase a juice and a coffee, pay my $15, and then I step aside to wait for my sandwiches: a regular bacon, egg, and cheese, and a bacon, eggs, and cheese with the bacon well done and ketchup. I start to notice someone who came in after me gets their sandwich and leaves before I do. Then it happens FOUR more times. 40 minutes later I finally ask where my food is and when I will be getting it. Let me emphasize this again: 40 MINUTES LATER. For egg sandwiches? Really? But of course! This is the Northport Deli way! Are you ready for the second best part? They bagged it, set it on the counter next to the 8 other bags, then forgot about it. So I come home to enjoy my ice cold eggs. My wife's cheese on her sandwich has that hard orange crust on the outer edges, you know what I mean. When cheese is left out for too long and starts to harden due to oxidizing. Delicious right? I bite into my sandwich. Let's see. Forgot the ketchup? Naturally. Raw, grizzly, disgusting bacon? Of course! To be clear, this deli will stay in business in spite of itself because high school kids can get here quickly for a cheap lunch while they're on break from class. If I wanted to wait 40 minutes for an egg sandwich, I'd have driven to Hicksville. Maybe my food would at least be fresh and made properly. Never again. read more

So I do like their breakfast sandwiches up till today. I walk into deli and ask for a seedless roll and as the counter clerk lifts up the roll I see about 20 little knat insects flying off the rolls. All their miffins are covered in plastic. I told the counterman and said it wasnt appetizing and customers are gonna be turned off. He response was just a shrug of his shoulders. Only place I know of that has 15 employees working but can't manage to make a sandwich in less than 30 minutes. 75% of the time you order is incorrect anyway. I had a recent experience where I called and halfway through my order they were "so busy" they recommended I come in and place it in person. Before I was able to get another word out and finish my order they hung up. When I called back they immediately told me to come in in person and place the order. When I told the gentleman I just placed half my order over the phone and got hung up on he put me on hold. I then hung up the phone and decided I have had enough with this place and I will not be coming back or placing future orders. When you have 15 people behind the counter and can't manage your customers..... you should rethink your hiring process. read more

I'm sitting here eating an egg sandwich that I just ordered for lunch from the Northport deli. It is outstanding! The bacon is crispy rolls fresh the egg is just a little bit runny and I'm enjoying every bite. I have never had anything from this deli that wasn't superb, especially their rice putting The only negative is that their food is so good sometimes there is a bit of a wait. Can't speak for the regular deli here, but the catering services they offer are OUT OF THIS WORLD!! We catered my mom's 90th birthday with them, and I truly wanted to order one of EVERYTHING on their VERY EXTENSIVE menu!! My sister worked with the owner, and he went above and beyond helping to coordinate our simple lunch (but you know as well as I do, pulling off even the "simplest" event is NEVER all that simple!!) and in her words, "they are AMAZING to work with, start to finish!!" Can I help the next person? Delis are a central part of Long Island / upstate New York culture, and Northport Deli was definitely one of the more popular counters in town. We popped in right around lunch time and had to wait a good ten minutes before placing our order. They were unfortunately out of hash browns, but I substituted home fries into my southwestern breakfast wrap. Luckily the wait after placing our order was much shorter and we were out the door in no time. My wrap was not what I was expecting but I loved every bite. The salsa oozed out as I unwrapped it, and I could see the cheese string out as I pulled the two halves apart. Chomp chomp chomp and it was gone. Feh... inconsistent food and service at the counter make this deli a gamble. I do enjoy their egg sandwiches but very often the kids behind the counter have little or no experience and that doesn't instill confidence in you when you're hungry. I catered a couple of parties from them and although they deliver and set up the food trays which is very convenient the food quality was pretty disappointing. I've never been to a deli that has gotten my order so many times. This is literally the last time I go there though. I ordered a hero with ham, cheese, and tomatoes. I also specially told the employee no mayo on the hero. When I got back to work to open up the hero I got a hero loaded with mayo, and no tomatoes. I was so disgusted they got the order wrong, and the hero was slathered in mayonnaise which was terrible. Normally I would of called to complain and get a refund, but I didn't even want to go back there. Never giving them my money again, and telling my neighbors and co workers that work nearby to avoid this place. The customer service is awful as well. We discovered this place on Uber Eats when we were too hungover one weekend and needed some bagel sandwiches delivered stay. This place did not disappoint - I have a pretty complex bagel order and without fail, every prior bagel shop has messed it up. Not these guys - they get it right every dang time, and it's always piping hot and delicious. They don't have a big selection when it comes to bagels, but the ones they do offer are solid.
