Because it is such a small student body the teacher, admin and student relationship is a very strong one. The teachers do their best to make sure the students learn the material and most importantly that they understand the material. The teachers are there not just for educational presupposes but they really do care about their student and want to see them succeed, they are willing to stay after class and talk to a student about anything they need help with whether that be a school thing or not, they are there to make sure that their students are in the right mind set to keep in the right track for them to succeed. Their building is not built to be a school but some how they have made accommodation and made some what functional for it to be a school. The first thing you see when you walk in is their classroom that is the heart of the school. To your left is the main office and to your right is the hallway into the school. The hallways are a little small for the size of their student body. The over view of the school is too small buildings with orange an blue floors. When you first walk in to the building it has a very unique smell because every classroom has their own smell. This is because almost every teacher has their own classroom. For example two tears ago a teacher there had a glade plug in that smelled like a man colon. Then the hallway started to smell like that and over time it started to clash with other scents which gives the whole school its own scent. My only complaint about this school is their lunch food. They don't make the lunch food there, they have someone cater. Something are really good, the flavors are amazing for example, they used to have a chicken tostada salad that was amazing. The tostada was nice and chunky, and the beans had just the right amount of salt and the chicken was well made. But then they have lunch like their spaghetti and meat sauce. That was one of the lunches I could not stand when i was at this school. The pasta and the meat sauce had no flavor to it. It tasted as if it had no salt or any kind of flavor in it. Other than just this complaint , they are a great school. If you are looking for a school that holds their students to a high standard and is going to help them have a bright future please check this school out they will not disappoint.

Your children WILl challenge your assumptions, call out your privilege and question your beliefs and will always WIN :-) So they become smarter than us and love learning and their teachers. The individualized attention each student receives is exceptional, and their main goal is that no student is left behind. Everyone at the school is welcoming, kind, and dedicated to helping students reach their full potential. My child absolutely LOVES going to school every day, which says a lot. Although VIPHS is a smaller school, students do not miss out on the traditional high school experience. For me its always fun to visit the classroom and hear the students call my bro Mr. N!! LOL. The school itself is old and a historical landmark but its still going strong. Being a teacher is hard work and very under appreciated and underpaid. Hopefully the state will stop playing with their emotions with the yearly pink slip layoff madness. Teachers often stay late after school is let out to help with their students and build a longtime relationship. The children I see here always look happy. I often see children who have moved on to highschool and college that come back to the school to see their elementary teachers as I've seen a few do this with my brother and SIL. That to me says alot about how much impact a teacher makes in a students life. All of the children I see here are always happy. The schools beliefs are: 1. That all students can learn. 2. I have documented concerns involving inaccurate allegations, favoritism, unnecessary police calls, and a disruptive-parent letter that was issued even though the principal was not present on campus during the incident. During a meeting with her supervisor, the principal acknowledged that she was not on campus at the time. I also raised concerns about staff recording parents and minor children during private meetings without consent. I filed a formal complaint with the LAUSD regional office, but my request for a retraction was denied and my concerns remain unresolved. Because the administrative process failed to resolve these issues, I have pursued the matter through the civil court system and am awaiting the court's response. This review reflects my personal experience and the complaints I have formally documented.
