I had been living in Los Angeles and was exposed to mold. I had my first sinus infection which left…read morewithout the ability to smell in 2013. I began seeing the top ENT doctor in Beverly Hills and we started with a surgery to fix my deviated septum and clear out any infections. Unfortunately this did not fix the problem and I continued to have sinus issues. Around 2014 my sinus infections were weekly and I was so ill and in pain. Due to the heavy traffic it would take me 1.5 hours or longer to get to his office I began going to an Urgent Care nearby and was taking 5 prescribed Clarinex's a day, ( allergy pills.) I was put on Qnasl a corticosteroid. Yet as each week continued I found myself weekly at urgent care being put on steroids, antibiotic etc.. it was painful and sheer frustration. My ENT Plastic Surgeon at this time stated after seeing my CAT scan I needed surgery to unblock the bone growth covering each side of the 4 holes on each side of the nose. ( I went out for three other opinions all were of varying answers and directions. We finally decided to leave LA and return to the North Shore after having a surgery in June of 2016. It was then I began seeing Dr Mugge. It was an interesting visit as Dr Mugge was the first doctor that actually took cultures of my nose. It was interesting as I had just had surgery and tested positive for Pseudomonas an antibiotic resistant sinus infection. I was frightened and scared but relieved that someone was thorough and took the time to swab and test. Dr Mugge instead of throwing antibiotics and steroids at me wanted to get at the route of the problem. This was a real wake up call as to what a great doctor he was as he took the time to figure out what was truly going on and not just treat the symptoms. Dr Mugge placed me on a nose spray from the Beverly Compounding pharmacy. We did this for a few months and the Pseudomonas did not go away. It was at this time he felt surgery following a CAT scan was the best form of treatment. Dr Mugge felt that the sinus spray was being blocked, thus endoscopic surgery was the needed. The surgery I was afraid of as my previous surgeries were so painful. I am pain sensitive and he listened to me and really cared. Following the surgery I still tested positive which was a surprise as my nose was no longer inflamed and red. I again took the nasal spray with ongoing cultures. However, finally my results came back negative!!!! I cannot express what a relief this was as I had been suffering for years and had to move across the country. Without Dr Mugge taking the time to test the cultures I have no idea how long and how many years I would have continued to suffer. Additionally suffered with too many antibiotics given to me and steroids which would all have been useless. I am so grateful to Dr Mugge and his team who cared for me when I was ill and truly listened after hours or when a much needed appointment was given to me the week I phoned. ( I recall one time I knew I had a sinus infection in addition to the Pseudomonas and this was the first and only time I stated I need pain medication as my entire face hurt and I had such a horrible headache I was just lying in bed in the dark unable to move. They listened and trusted after hours my symptoms and helped with the pain and antibiotics.) Literally you cannot get better after hours care and again the ability to get in to see the doctors when truly in need. Dr Mugge's nurses line is available and you leave a message and they reply promptly. All of the nurses and Karen are awesome! I found his staff to be caring and friendly and his offices clean and sterile. If you want to truly get rid of sinus infections and are exhausted with antibiotics thrown your way go see Dr Mugge. The first appointment was the hardest for me to get but following that appointment you are a patient and very important to Dr Mugge and his staff. Presently I am now dealing with pollen I have allergic rhinitis and I think after having this antibiotic resistant sinus infection I may be more sensitive to pollen. Please note Dr Mugge knew of my pollen issues and started me on Clarinex 2 times a day and Qnasl. The Qnasl takes a few weeks to work and build up in your system so it was a relief to know that Dr Mugge also took the time to do preventative allergy season work on me. I cannot thank Dr Mugge or his staff enough. Thank you ‼

Just an incredible group...from the physicians, to the PA's to the hearing specialists. So…read morethorough, they found thyroid cancer while investigating something completely non-related. Dr. Colden is also a board-certified plastic surgeon. Not only did I have NO pain after the surgery, the incision was so small and precise, it is barely noticeable. Have been there several times with my elderly mother with severe hearing problems. Their staff is so considerate and patient with her. Wait time is practically nothing, which is a big thing to me.

That was many years ago. over the past year it's been care for myself. the last two visits not only did she address my ENT concerns but also solved other conditions I've been experiencing. she could have easily shooed me out to the appropriate specialist (which she does want me to follow up with these other specialist for sure) but she sat with me for 45 minutes even knowing it was not an ENT issue. I left my visit with clarity and direction. I can't say enough about her expertise, bedside manner and true care for her patient. There are not enough stars to rate Dr. Gallivan!

He not only knew more than anyone else I had seen, but he also could recognize what he didn't know, and he found out on his own and got back to me. I literally had five different diagnosis from five different doctors. My illness was confusing, and he was the only one to correctly predict what I was going to experience as time went on, and how to deal with (and cure) what I had despite the lack of tests to verifiably diagnose me. He noticed within moments what no other doctor had the insight to detect. 2. Bedside manner: fantastic. I was extremely comfortable. I felt taken care of and respected. He didn't ever oversimplify or dumb down his diagnosis. He was clear, honest, and helpful in describing what he saw honestly and completely and without unnecessary lingo. He made everything extremely easy on me (He partly filled out forms for me so I didn't have to figure it out and he mailed them to me at my apartment (name, type of care etc). It was incredible how caring and how important it was to me!) They really made a great effort to make you comfortable, and give you mental ease while you're sick. 3. Wait time: Above and beyond. I always came in in the morning if I had an appointment, but there were times when I was sick with a fever and just called in hoping to see someone sometime that day. They always got me in right away with maybe a 10 minute wait! It was fantastic. I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Goldstein! I am super hard to please and kinda critical in general, but that is especially true when I'm sick. Dr. Goldstein was fantastic. I never had to worry about anything from billing to accurate information to staff remembering my history, to paperwork, to general caring atmosphere, and most of all I had confidence finally that he knew his stuff, and I was going to get well after quite a lot of searching!! But he is quite funny and rather charming, especially when the chaos of the day finally calms down in his office. He looks you right in the eye when he speaks to you and he notices little things that either other people don't observe or don't take the time to mention. Now on to the review: The first time I went to his office I waited for hours, as they were so far behind schedule and my appointment was still mid morning. He did take the time to send me for the tests I necessary; nevertheless, he was unable to diagnose what my particular problem was. He was actually baffled. As the other Yelper indicated, he did not issue and Rx unnecessarily, which is always appreciated and he okayed my to fly. He scheduled a follow-up appointment and sent me for repeat tests, same results and still no idea of what the problem with me ears is. "We", and I say we, because I have been looking for answers as well, have looked into drug interactions and other factors and have been unable to come up with anything. Yet, the problem persists. I have my third appointment coming up soon. If he does not find a solution to my ongoing ear problem (this has been 10 months) ~ I am going to break up with him.....

My doctor was great. No complaints there…read more My co-payment was $30. I paid it with a credit card (I tried to give them cash, but they don't accept it). Days later I had remembered I had a Health Savings Account debit card. I decided to call Billing, have them refund the $30 on my credit card and charge the HSA debit instead. The transaction seemed easy. Come to find out, they never refunded the $30 on my credit card, and instead of withdrawing $30 on my debit card, they withdrew $200. I've been calling and using the portal for two weeks - simply requesting Billing to call me. The folks on the portal said Billing would call, but they haven't. Two weeks of silence. My only recourse was to file a report with the Beverly Police Dept. They'll follow up with the NSPG or the Salem Court will. An abysmal experience. If anyone has Scott Sperling (Mass General Brigham, Chair) and/or Anne Klibanski (Mass General Brigham, CEO) contact info....please share it. I want them to know my experience.

I live two hours away and I've chosen here despite the commute because there is no medical center near me that gives the treatment I need so I am, for lack of a better term, downright desperate. After having a prescription given to me almost a year ago, I have been calling for MONTHS to get it authorized by the doctor I saw and nothing productive has happened. Nothing. I've been hung up on twice before, I've been bounced between two offices multiple times to try and reschedule an appointment, I have stated the urgency of how I need what I am there for and still nothing has been done. My experience here has been disgustingly bad and I would urge anyone who is looking for this as a possibility to try other options because it is abhorrent how hard it is to get anything accomplished here. And this isn't even coming from just a solely outside view, I am in the medical field myself. I am extremely disappointed.
