My pain tolerance is pretty low & I was scared prior to getting the implants, but Dr. Shin was very gentle and he made sure I was comfortable during the whole treatment. I literally almost fell asleep during the implant session. Not just the doctor, but all of the staff - especially the front desk - are professional and friendly. The actual technology that they have there is quite advanced and I had never experienced that before at a dental office. I've booked appointments now to get that preventative work done. I'm surprised that my previous dentist had never even mentioned some of the issues that this dentist was able to point out. I encouraged my boyfriend to also transfer his records from his dentist of 20 years to try out this new place. I'll update my review in case the procedures turn out to go horribly wrong however I doubt that will be necessary! I do not particularly like going to the dentist however they made me feel very comfortable and reassured. I also did the Pearl whitening there. It takes about an hour and involves a lot of waiting and spitting out drool every few minutes. But it works well enough and was only $99 since I was a new client and I had done a cleaning. Voila! They are professional, patient (for those of us anxious about visiting the dentist), and very accommodating. Dr. Afshin is an excellent dentist and explains what he is doing and why. I very much appreciate that he provides all of the available options and doesn't try to "upsell" on the work that needs to be done. Dr. Afshin is very diligent and saved my life. Once the shock was over, I insisted that the dentist refer me to the BEST periodontist in the Greater Vancouver area. I didn't care where I had to go, I just had to have the best. I was referred to Dr. Farzin Ghannad. And I can without hesitation and doubt say that Dr. Farzin Ghannad of Vancouver Implant Perio Centre is THE BEST. He did not rush through the consult. He answered all of my questions. He was very clear and offered up all options with pros and cons to each. He was sincere, honest and very personable. In fact, all his staff are courteous and lovely. I've read the horror stories about gum grafts and had friends regale me with their tales of pain etc. I had absolutely none of that (thus far... I'm still in recuperation). But the procedure was quick, Dr. Ghannad was delightful, offering up comforting words of feedback along the way and his genuine care for my well-being shone through. His after care instructions were perfect and the take home kit excellent! I had no pain, and no bleeding after the procedure was complete. So far so good and I've no doubt this trend will continue through my convalescence. If you need a periodontist, please see Dr. Ghannad. He is the best there is. Truly.
