Just had my first experience here with Dr. Clifton and it was absolutely stellar. We had to talk on the phone because of covid but she was very caring and talked to me about my dogs issues and different options we could take. She also even answered some questions about my cat. I suggest that if you love your dog, go find another vet. Dr. Rocky took good care of my dying service dog, but she chose to leave us on his day off. The other doc, whomever you are could not squeeze my dying dog in for an appointment, so she was forced to die by a strangers hand. So pathetic and horrible to refuse her an appointment. Unprofessional does not make the list. If you love your pet, find them a doctor that will take care of them until the end. read more

We have been bringing our dog here for 14 years. They did a good job in taking our money for all those years. Our dog was at the end of her life, we had arranged for a in home Vet to come and put our dog down on a Saturday, they do not offer this service but they did give us recommendations. On the Friday it was very clear our beloved pet could not go on another day. I call North Shore Veterinary clinic and explained that our dog needed to be put down today and we could come right away. They said they could not fit us in!! I was shocked, I explained that she was suffering, they said they would call if there was an opening. I reached out to another vet clinic explaining my situation, they said they have no openings but one of the vets will take their lunch break and meet with us. Why couldn't North Shore Veterinary Clinic of done this, 14 years and thousands spent!! They say they on their Facebook Page " Pets are special family members - they hold a big place in our hearts." Staff was nice and very responsive but the Dr. was unprofessional and we felt awful after this visit. This clinic seems to want only well-behaved animals. They do not want animals who are anxious having been rescued from the street. Not every cat has had a good life in the past. We brought in our newly adopted rescue cat. You couldn't check him because of his stressed out behaviour... okay, but you brought up that the cat caused damage in the exam room. We apologized but why did you bring this up? This felt unprofessional and judgemental and left us with a bad feeling. The vet shouldn't make us feel guilty, especially when we don't know the cat's background. We are supposed to bring him back in a month because they couldn't check him, so we have to put him through the stress of another vet visit. And I felt like they don't want us back, and we're hesitant to go there again. read more

My dog is fearful and aggressive with strangers but the team here was very accommodating and gave me options to help lower my pups stress levels prior to having an exam and vaccination done. I really appreciated their patience! For an exam and a rabies vaccine it came to $90. Definitely on the steep side as I think this is $10-$30 more than some other clinics but if they're willing to spend 30 min with him to wait for him to calm down then I guess it's money spent for less stress and headache for me! read more

Yesterday, our 10 year old dog was struggling with breathing and collapsed. I called this vet and they said they had no appointments available and that they couldn't help. I'm sorry but what business are you in? This was a life and death situation. Cancel someone else's appointment. Fit us in! We weren't calling for a nail trimming. By the way my dog died due to a pulmonary embolism that afternoon. You are the most unprofessional vet I have ever experienced. This Vet clinic definitely exceeds all the core values for providing superior service. The professionalism starts at the from counter when your greeted by the administrative staff. They have properly educated vet techs and vet assistants which is extremely important! There are no corners cut here which is extremely important to me. I feel safe knowing that my pup is being treated by the best of the best! I want to personally thank Dr LO for her exceptional service. I have been taking my 2 dogs to North Shore Veterinary Clinic for about 2 years. I have a 3-year-old lab/pit cross and a 4 lb. Yorkie. We have seen 2 of the vets. Both were wonderful, caring, competent and gentle. The vet techs and office staff are warm, welcoming and helpful. I've noted a couple of reviews complaining about this clinic's pricing but they are more reasonable than my previous vet. One of my dogs requires a prescription diet. Her food costs 25% less at North Shore than it did at my previous veterinary clinic. I trust these folks. They listen carefully to my concerns, they respect the knowledge I have and take what I say seriously. I highly recommend North Shore Veterinary Clinic. read more

Took all 3 of our dogs to be seen here. They were very accommodating in spreading out the appts (2 at same time & the 3 half an hour later). We had the same vet, Dr Sang, she was very good with all 3 of our bully breeds (an American Staffordshire Terrier, an American Bully & an American Pitbull Terrier). Before their exam she asked if there were any concerns. She addressed my concerns during her assessment & suggested options. Billing was very straight forward, only what I asked for was on the bill & it was all labelled correspondingly. Fees were the same for all 3 dogs. Only difference was on the medication charge for the dewormer as one received a diffident dosage & her meds weren't as much as the other 2. The front desk staff was helpful in weighing & providing the medication clearly marked as to not mix them up between the 3 dogs. read more

We took our beloved Husky to NSVC for most of her glorious life (15 years). The veterinarians are compassionate, skilled and only ever gave us great service and medical care for Niki, right up until we had to say goodbye. The staff are equally compassionate and clearly they all absolutely love animals. We are about to get our new puppy (we waited 18 months) and the first thing I have done is called North Shore Vet Clinic for an appointment (she's a rescue so will need some extra attention). I hope we will be their client/patient for another 15 years. read more

Horrible horrible place. There is an Asian lady there that is beyond useless and will rob you. She will give your pet tests that you don't need and makes sure you don't know about it. I have given this place two chances and refuse to go back. My first time we spent $2000 and she told us nothing. We brought our dog to another clinic and they figured it out right away. She made sure to run as many useless tests as possible. The second time we brought in a rescue puppy and was told it would only cost $80. We made sure that it was confirmed that it was all we wanted. She proceeded to give our sick rescue dog an X-ray without consent and tried to charge us $500. She didn't even need an X-ray!! We refused to pay and only bought the medication. Also she didn't even give us any advice... Nothing... Again, this place is a scam and is only there to rob you and leave you with no solution. (The receptionists are sweet though) read more

When you are new to an area finding a good vet is really hard so I asked at my exercise class "Who loves their vet?!" and a lady stepped up and raved about North Shore SO I brought my 110lb Newfoundland and my 9lb Ragdoll cat and I was extremely happy with everyone from Dr Sang who spent ALOT of time with me giving them their vaccinations and dealing with a persistent UTI to the front desk who were very friendly and accommodating in making various appointments. My dog is not good going to the Vet and they were so gentle that we got through it the best she ever has! My pets are everything to me, so believe me when I say you won't be disappointed! read more

I come to this clinic to buy cat food - the staff are all pleasant, and having been a pet owner for 40 years I'd like to say something. A few of the reviews here are clearly laughable. This is the problem with social media - anybody can say anything and so many people are just hanging on to every word as if it were gold. #1 - someone 'in law for many years' who had any legal credentials is unlikely to say 'I'd sue their sorry asses". Instead you come across as an ignorant person, and likely to not approach an emotional situation with common sense. #2 - to the reviewer who called the vet tech a 'nurse' who had to give a pill to her recalcitrant Yorkshire: A lot of dogs don't like pills. How else would you like your Yorkshire terrier to have the pill? Come on! Vet techs go into their field because they love animals - that's why they choose it as a profession. And it is a profession - serving the animals is far easier than serving owners who expect the impossible to happen. Your hesitant Yorkie is not about to have its neck broken - you only appear hysterical when you post comments like that. Vets aren't perfect, and being a dog (and cat) lover, I see nothing wrong with prying a dog's mouth open to give it a pill. The dog forgets it in 1 minute, and the most important thing, the medication is allowed to exert it's therapeutic affects. It's better than letting the dog suffer and bemoan how cruel life is. I think you need to get a reality check. read more

I had a very bad experience at this establishment, the owner Terry Commack was the worst vet I have dealt with and had dogs for 55 years, she had an attitude and was very rude, it was like she was doing me a favour to look after my dog. It took 8 days for them to get back to me after call after call, they kept saying we will call you back at a certain time and never called, finally I got a call and said I will call back the next morning, no call. They charged me about 30 percent more than my vet in Delta. When I explained my plight I was told by the uncaring Terry Cormmack why don't you go to another vet. I was shocked, wow what a way to run a business, anyway over $500 for a visit and a few pills, I guess okay and over $300 for X rays that I was told would not be more than $250. When confronting her with the $250 she said I did not say that, I have never been lied to by a vet before. This woman is a hazard to the society of Vets. My advise is to run from the place. read more

Terri Clemett has been the vet for my family for, I'd venture to say, almost 25 years. She is in this business for all of the right reasons. She provides compassionate, knowledgable care, and I trust her implicitly with the care of our four legged family members. Her love for her work, and the animals she treats is evident- and the absolutely wonderful support staff she hires are lovely and helpful, a real pleasure to deal with. I took my sick yorkie yesterday to treat her eye infection. The veterinarian doctor checked my dog for about 10 min. Rarely mentioning about the eye infection, this person started to elaborate about dangers of fleas, and sold a pill for $50 per pc which has nothing to do with my visit or my dog. She called this heavyweight champ. nurse to feed my dog a worm killer pill. This nurse started to wrestle with my listless 3kg. Yorkie to push the pill into my dog's mouth, holding her neck to the point of breaking it. Please do not go here. It must be more about the welfare of the animal than the money generated. A wonderful website that was very helpful to me was 2nd Chance by Ron Hines. If you are a pet owner, put that on your desktop. You will use it many times I promise. Without this website I probably would have agreed to 3 different tests, 3 different drugs, x-ray, ultrasound and a 3 night hospital stay. Two tests had been completed by the time I deciphered the geriatric panel using the 2nd chance website. When I spoke to the vet and said that my dog had stage 2 kidney failure she corrected me and said actually stage 4. My wonderful dog died in less than a week so I question the motivation of doing all the tests as she already knew he was terminal. Sadly the veterinary profession has a poor reputation but there are very caring ones out there. Please do your research. I feel that I let my beautiful dog down by not doing mine. read more
