Northstar installed central heat and air less than two years ago and now the compressor is dead. We called to get it fixed and they couldn't come out for 3 weeks. We called ASP and they came out and checked the system and discovered the bad compressor. We called back to Northstar and they really didn't care. So now the entire system needs to be replaced. Please don't use Northstar. read more

One zone of our heat went out, and they weren't able to get anyone out to us, but a gentleman called me back and was kind enough to FaceTime me and walk through some problem solving steps. We ended up having another company come because they could get here sooner and we are facing a brutal cold snap and couldn't wait, but I would definitely recommend NorthStar to anyone they're able to get to! Jeremiah was awesome! I told him I wanted to see how to put the filter in so I could do it between services, and he coached me through putting it in myself. Now I know I did it correctly and can do it again. He also showed me how to turn the furnace off while I change it, and what to listen to and look for when I turn it back on. He showed me the parts he checked and helped me to understand what he was looking for to know if anything needed attention. I'm sure it took him extra time to educate me, but it sure gave me a lot of peace of mind and I feel prepared to do filter changes between visits now. He also wrote down the name of the filter so I can get one even if NorthStar doesn't happen to be at my house to get one for me. Great to have someone I can trust to help me out! Thanks! read more

Travis came out to see our furnace that needed replacing along with a gas fireplace that only worked when the wind cooperated. It was amazing to watch him figure out and troubleshoot putting in a new furnace and how we could solve the fireplace issue. His crew (Zach and company) installed a new furnace and a mini split. We woke up on Wednesday morning this week with no heat. My husband called North Star Heating, they gave us advice over the phone and when that didn't work we scheduled someone (Russ) to come out that afternoon to check over the furnace. He was very knowledgeable about what was happening to the furnace, taking pictures of the mechanisms, showing us, and explaining what the problem was. We ordered a new furnace to be installed the next day. But first Russ went to Proctor to come back with two small heaters to use in our house until we got heat. We were so thankful. The next morning Keith and Zach were at our house to install the new furnace. They were very polite, did an excellent job, cleaned up their mess, and thanked us for our business. In October NorthStar Heating installed a Navien combi boiler in our home. We were so excited to get this highly recommended high efficiency boiler. Today AGAIN we wake up to 64 degrees and no hot water. This happens every week to 10 days. This is the beginning of my public calling out of this product and vendor. I would not use this vendor again (another product they installed also does not work) and probably not the product. The staff is pleasant but unable to resolve either issue after all these months. read more

I was told by a different company that the whole unit needed to be replaced, The tech from Northstar came the day I called and was able to fix that day with one part. I cannot say enough about Jennifer and guys at NorthStar, They were quick,on time, personable and so very helpful for me to get heat into my new (new to me) home. I purchased a manufactured home to retire in and the furnace did not run correctly, They came out and Russ diagnosed problem within minutes and gave me the bad news, it was on its last leg.(22 yrs old) He seen how worried I was about costs (SS is Not the prize) and he suggested contacting Eco-librium,they help with heating and weatherization, they were able to work w me, and today I got a new heat source installed, very efficient & polite. I am eternally grateful for their service..compassion and resourceful references, they are so very very helpful. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.
