I came here when my home YMCA was being renovated. I took a yoga class in a yoga Lotties class, and both were really good. The instructors are very knowledgeable and supportive. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. There is a very large lobby with comfortable seating and very clean locker rooms with separate dressing rooms, and showers. Equipment is updated and in good condition- overall a great experience and highly recommend.

I recently completed a 7 day trial at this YMCA, and I left very impressed. It is located on Carpenter Fire Station rd a couple blocks from Hway 55. They have ample parking and it loops around to their outdoor pool. According to a Staff member, it has been open for 5 years and they have a working agreement with the Crosspoint church regarding daycare/camps. Awesome option for the local families! Now to the Y's fitness offerings. Again, I can not stress how impressed I was with the following: 1st floor-2 intake desks Staffed with friendly faces, 2 training studios (One complete with Spin bikes) 3 nicely appointed Locker rooms (M, Female, Family). Male has 2 saunas (Wet and Dry), Lockeroom exits to an Outdoor pool, Soccer and baseball fields behind the pool. Phew-Onto the 2nd floor-Soft track (12 laps=1 mile) cardio on the outside of the track overlooking a garden, cardio, weights, machines inside the track and all kinds of windows and architectural character. Fee schedule is in my pictures and consistent with pricing in the area. Classes are plentiful and must be signed up for 48 hours in advance. Also, a Y membership gives its members the option of utilizing the other triangle locations. Impressive. Thanks for the trial.

The NW Cary YMCA is an extremely clean, friendly, new and modern facility. The faculty and group exercise instructors are very warm and welcoming. I really love how the upstairs weight and cardio area has gigantic windows, which creates a very open, airy feeling. It never feels stuffy inside. I love attending the classes. So far I've tried Pilates, Spin, Yoga, Step, Total Body Strength and Pound just to name a few. I'm also a big fan of using the sauna in the women/s restroom. Membership prices are also very affordable compared to other local surrounding gyms. The only things I wish that could be different about this place are the hours of operation for Sunday and better sauna etiquette in the womens restroom. The facility is only open from 2pm-7pm, and I wish it would open maybe an hour or so sooner. Also the ladies in the women's bathroom do not always follow proper sauna etiquette. There are many ladies in there sitting on the benches with their shoes/sweaty workout clothes on, and I wish they would follow the sauna protocol because nobody wants to be in a hot sauna with somebody's dirty gym shoes or sweaty clothes. As of 6/10/18- I decided to go from a 4 star review, to a 3 star review due to the harassment of women wearing crop tops. It's a double standard if you let men play basketball here shirtless, but a woman can't wear a crop top while she works out. Totally unacceptable.

Never had problems at any other YMCA until I walked in here wearing sports leggings and a matching crop top. The last thing I was thinking about was my "distracting" outfit going in to better myself at the gym. I was told to leave immediately after getting there in front of multiple people. The staff was rude and I have heard of similar situations happening to other women at this specific YMCA.

Clean and always welcoming. I loved coming here with my newborn. I worked out and relaxed while he was cared for in the nursery.

The facility is new. But the staff comparing to talor Y are much unprofessional. They do jobs lacking of love. Don't feel right there.

We've had an amazing experience with Aqua-Tots in Cary! Both of my kids joined at Level 3, and now,…read morethree years later, they are in Level 8. We've seen tremendous growth in their confidence, skills, and love for swimming. All the coaches have been fantastic over the years. I may not remember every name, but each one has played a role in my kids' progress. A special thank you to Coach Zachary -- he was absolutely wonderful and made a big impact. Currently, Coach Cole is doing a great job as well! The front desk team and receptionists have always been friendly, helpful, and professional. The overall environment is positive, encouraging, and very well organized. We're truly grateful for the dedication of the entire Aqua-Tots team. Highly recommend to any parents looking for quality swim lessons for their kids!

Not a place for a first lesson. Watch my video…read more Update: Because they are not a part of any swimming organization, no one holds them accountable for their dangerous methods. I filed a complaint with the USA Swimming Safe Sport and with the U.S. Center for SafeSport. However, neither of these organizations can take action against the rough coaches and the school because it is a private institution and falls outside the jurisdiction of any organization that could halt their dangerous practices. They will continue to lie on their website by stating "Safety first" while simultaneously forcing your screaming child underwater. They scared my 4-year-old. She screamed and was actively resisting, but the coach just took her and threw her into the water. I could see she was suffocating for a moment because he just forced her under water while she screamed. So lovely for a first lesson ever. How do I convince her now that swimming is fun? Coach Lucas doesn't know what he is doing at all. Disappoinment. I regret I brought my kid there.

She fairly scared of getting her head under water, hated getting her head wet, and was brand new to this at first. In just a couple weeks, Rachel gave her the skills and confidence to thrive and accept new challenges. I was continually impressed by Rachel's calm, kind, supportive approach with each kiddo I saw her with - she was always comforting and understanding - yet challenging because she knew each kiddo's limits and abilities. I am so grateful for PhD Swim - every coach seems so encouraging and knowledgeable about both swimming and kids. We have enrolled in the next stage at PhD Swim and I couldn't be more thrilled. I know my daughter can survive if in a dangerous water situation, which was what was most important to me, but I also know she learned a ton in such a supportive environment along the way. I'd also like to add that PhD Swim is has been very impressive regarding covid protocols. Every adult - both parents and teachers - remain fully masked every second they are in the room, and kiddos are generally masked unless they are in the pool. The small classes and low number of kiddos/families in there at any time is very reassuring. Honestly, I initially balked at the price and time commitment - hey, it took 2-3x as long to travel there and back than the lesson itself, and the survival class was 3x a week!! - but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Tl;dr: run, don't walk, to PhD Swim!

An absolutely amazing addition and likely the best gym in the area by a solid margin, especially…read morefor the price. Went the other day to check it out using their free pass and got a tour and good workout in. It was absolutely jam packed, including the parking lot. This is not due to it being small, if anything both the lot and space are expansive, but rather it was likely due to a combination of time of day, it being the beginning of the year, and excitement over a new gym. Despite this, there is plentiful high quality and well maintained equipment so that despite the crowd, I was able to get a great workout in. There is both variety and quantity of equipment, so you seldom have to wait for anything (for example there were 12 squat racks, 4 sets of each weight for dumbbells, and more). Facilities are incredible, and very well organized. Walking in teh first floor includes a turf area in front, weights divided by groups, leg focused equipment at the end, chest focused stuff next to it, and plentiful cable machines in another section (it used to be a theater so while it is open, some dividers have been kept so each prior theater is a section, expansive and well organized/divided up but maintaining an open plan/feel). There is even an outdoor turf area. Upstairs there are some more machines and cardio equipment. Towards the back there is a pool, hot tup, ad I think even a cold plunge. While I did not try it, like the rest of the gym it all looked high quality and well maintained. On the left there are studio areas including a cycle studio, an open one, and a strike studio (which had plenty of punching bags), all of which seemed to also offer plenty of courses. There is also a recovery area which was awesome, including everything from massage chairs and red-light therapy to normatec leg sleeves. Just all around incredible. Even the locker rooms were awesome, clean, bright, well organized, even the showers were awesome with proper heavily frosted glass doors instead of the typical flimsy curtains. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, amenities and equipment were all high quality and details seemed to be paid attention to. If I had one slight criticism, the equipment was all quite close to each other. While this did not cause any issues while using the equipment as it was spaced just enough, it did cause slight navigational issues when walking around (this may have exasperated by the crowd), though I honestly prefer it to a lack of equipment. Their pricing was incredibly fair, especially for this quality of gym. Now what I am curious about is that many of the positives may be due to it currently being new, I want to see if they are able to maintain this level over the next few months and hopefully even years.

It was super pack which I understand and they couldn't give us a tour so we decided to take the free pass and try it for a bit. They gave other people tours but said no to us for some reason. The pool and outside part of the gym was closed and not ready so keep in mind if you pay for membership you don't have access to everything yet. I currently go to O2 I was ready to go to a new gym but this gym really is too crowded and kind of outdated for what it is. Machines were super close together. They try to just add stuff with out logic of spacing when people actual use them. The membership seems expensive with a lot of extra fees to use other parts. I think it more of a check a box fake appeal but when you really look at it... The gym does everything but just not well. Also, people did not clean up after themselves. That not the fault of the gym but the culture here seems to be a lot of people who do not know proper gym equiuette like wiping up or putting your weights away.
