This was apparently the first year of the new owner running the school after taking it over from her mother. We never tried the "before," but under the new ownership, it is great so far! During Covid times they have also made efforts to keep the children safe including distancing in class, mask wearing, and taking temperatures before class.

The Christmas lights I enjoyed for their variety and the size of layout. It could take a few hours to amble through everything without dragging on. The horse shows were fun to watch. Different performers were introduced along with their horse and would run/execute a particular program to display the skills they had learned in the duration of the camp. Seating for us spectators was along the side, making it possible to watch the horse and rider throughout their performance.

I attended Canoe Island as a kid for 7 straight summers. Those were the happiest times of my life. I was able to go back as an adult for a Yoga Weekend two years ago and the magic has not been lost. If you love the outdoors, fresh air, and a true unique experience, then you must experience Canoe Island! Sigh...I wish I was there right now! During the 8 1-week summer sessions and 10 family weekends, these kids get to enjoy an over-the-top sleepover camp experience that wouldn't typically be available to them if it were not for Camp Korey and the incredible volunteers, donors and staff that make it all possible. Boating, fishing, swimming, horseback riding, crafts, stage night, high-ropes course (to name a few)... all in one of the most beautiful settings Washington has to offer. They also have an amazing farm-to-table program... The kids spend time in the organic garden... Smelling, tasting, touching and learning about all the different produce that is used in the preparation of their healthful and fun meals.
