I have a 3 year old that is all boy. That is a very gentle way of saying, he needs constant redirection and is a very rowdy little dude. These people are more than patient with him and welcomed him with open arms. The staff are great. They take safety very serious and I feel at ease when he is in their care. Update: Well unfortunately my little guy needed to find other arrangements, he bites sometimes and can be physical. I am not changing my review. I know safety is paramount in places like these and I really do think they tried hard to work with him. read more

Please do not send your children here! They left my infant crying while they were just standing filling out paperwork and no other babies were needing care and he was just losing his mind with no one checking on him... they also gave him his very first solids knowingly without even asking or checking about food allergies, robbing me of that sentimental experience as a first time mom... they also accused him of later being "a mute" and made comments about autism without any licenses, education, or formal training to be able to do so or qualify them to diagnose him as such (he is thriving and his doctor and me have no concerns about this, he just didn't feel safe there I truly believe!!!), and let my child be bit over 3 times in one day and 10+ times in a week without even bothering to notify us as the parents... I sincerely regret trusting them with my child's care and beg you to avoid this place like the plague. My child did also report that one teacher hit him on the head which I believe did happen. Each time I reported any concern, I was ultimately given reassurance but nothing was every done except move my child to the next class which of course had its own set of new problems... when I ultimately took my child out because of safety concerns after he said he was hit by his teacher, and lost thousands of dollars because I didn't feel comfortable sending him there... the main supervisor (can't remember her name) didn't even bother calling me back when I reported what my son said about being hit by a teacher. She acted like I was inconveniencing her when I called to follow up about it, very very strange. I do regret not involving law enforcement. Horrendous experience! read more

I currently have a child enrolled in the the PreK 2 class at Kids N Us in Lake Stevens, WA and I have nothing but positive comments regarding the care and attention they give my child. Chantel has been nothing but helpful with every situation or question that I have and I leave every day feeling that my child of receiving or going to receive the best care and education I could ever imagine. Having had some pretty not so pleasant past day care experiences there is no hesitation on my side about the care my child receives. You leave them in the care of people you don't know and that is scary for everyone but I leave everyday with a smile knowing my child has had the best care possible. I have to admit...it looks good at first glance. Be forewarned though...if you have a child with special needs...look elsewhere. The teachers are warm and genuinely caring with the kids. Unfortunately, they just aren't set up or trained possibly to handle children who are not cookie cutter. They are a peanut free zone, but it is not enforced as strictly as it could be during the summer outings since the kids are told to bring their own lunches. The administrative staff in the front office does not give the warm fuzzy feel that I would expect from people who 1) work with young children, and 2) I see on a personal level on a daily basis. You watch my child...at least try to pretend like you aren't moments from either going postal or jumping off a bridge. There are some good people here...unfortunately, I don't think the structure is strong enough to handle children who need a little more from their environment and their caretakers/educators. read more

When I was pregnant I started looking for the place my son would be loved while my husband and I were at work. It was this mind set I set forth while interviewing several daycare centers. We went to about 6 in person and read about 200 reviews. We live close to Kids N Us so it was first on our list. First of all, the front office staff were kind and respectful offering us a "peek" and we were able to walk around and met the ladies our son could be with 8+ hours a day, 5 days a week. After about 4 months of searching my husband and I decided on Kids N Us. When we came back to sign the paperwork the ladies we met 4 months ago were still there, still just as nice and seemed to be excited about our son coming to see them everyday. Fast forward 9 months, my son loves daycare, his infant room is perfect. And they offer a program called "Watch Me Grow" where I can watch my son on my cell or office computer via an in room and playground camera. The ladies have become more like family and I can't imagine a better choice we have made. read more

We have been at Kids N Us for almost 3 years and have had a great experience. My son really enjoys going to school and has learned so much through the years. All of the staff and teachers are so nice and the classrooms are clean and full of toys, games, and books for the kiddos to play and learn with. My only recommendation is to screen your calls midday. My two kids have been here for more than a year, and of the 3 times I've gotten calls to pick them 2 of them came around nap time. They tell you your kid is "off" because they're tired around nap time and that you have to come pick them up right away. It is, after all, unusual that toddlers and preschoolers act tired or disengaged in the middle of the day. Looking at the turnover among the kids, I'm sure I'm not the only one to notice the same pattern. But they feed your kids, make sure they don't die while you're away, and follow district curriculum and nutrition standards, so it could be worse. read more

You get 1 star! I want to give you no star's and a big thumbs down!! (but that is not an option on Yelp) Attention daycare teacher's.... Please do not work at a daycare center if you can't handle it. Kids are demanding little people and you should have known that going into it. What I witnessed today was unacceptable, a little boy in a soaking wet KIDS N US T shirt with a visibly raw knee from a fall, crying his eyes out. The daycare woman made no attempt to comfort him. He asked for a band aid and she told him not have one until he stopped crying. The poor kid kept crying and crying until I finally had to confront this evil worker. I mean really lady "PUT A BAND AID ON THE KID!" She said he was wet and she could not.... REALLY??? Then dry him off!!! Then she wants to stare at me?? Really lady? I have no problem calling you out. The funny thing is.... All the kids were wearing shirts to advertise your daycare......NO THANK YOU, KIDS N US!!!! I would never take my kids there!!!! Then come to find out from my 11 year old's when the initial fall happened this woman did not even ask him if he was okay when he fell?? This place really needs to screen the "teacher's" working for their company. Especially when your having all these children running around in your shirts with your company name on them. I have mixed feelings about this location - to start I have never felt really comfortable with a daycare/pre-school being close to the freeway and a hotel but it was one of the cleanest places we found. Its a bit pricey at almost $900.00 a month after discount and we had some expectations/understanding that the staff would actually be teaching the pre-k kids some basics - you would thing for that kind of money they would. Guess again no such thing and we have been with Kids -N-Us for a year and honestly we know have to hold our child back so he can actually be at the same level as the other kids. We started out with Mr. Jacob and then moved to a new teacher which I was totally excited about. Mr. Jacob personally does not seem a right fit to work with children, something about this person never felt right to me. I think it was more that he didnt have the patience to handle this age group vs. older kids.The new staff that is handling this group has been wonderful and without issues. The class has been fun and filled with coloring projects and playground time but overall that sums it up. I think we could have taken our child to nana's and would have been further then what we are now but again we wanted our son to be in a fun learning environment.The current teachers in the Pre-K are great but not sure how long they will be in this environment. They have extra activities at an extra cost and don't be late because that costs extra too. Tuition costs go up annually too and your young child will come in contact with school age children that are much older then your little one when they have summer break. There are a few events that aren't at cost to you but only if you have the chance to attend - stay at home parents would be able to attend more then those who work full time for these events because they are held in the morning 10 am time frames. Kristy the office manager has always been wonderful and approachable. I cant say anything bad about her but the rest of the front office staff could be a little bit more friendly or at least not make it seem so fake. Another plus is the watch me grow program - but dress your child in a bright color so you can see who he or she is but it was a peace of mind thing for me to be able to see what he is up to during the day. They have nap time and a menu that follows good guidelines - our son liked the food and snacks. We are now taking our child to a private school that is less in cost but will give him what he needs to move forward in life. Overall its not a terrible place but not the greatest either. Read all the information that is available to you and try it out too first before going in long term. read more

I hated everything about this daycare. I'm really glad they had the cameras or I would've just been suspicious of them and wouldn't have had the solid evidence I needed to get my baby out of there as quickly as I did.  1 They lied about the information they told us at the end of the day. It got to the point where I was just watching all day to make sure I knew what was happening with her.  2 We bought 6 brand new Dr. Brown bottles for them. In the one month she was there they broke 5 of them. Those bottles are not cheap and I feel like it was gross negligence on their part.  3 We told them 4-5 times to give her cold milk and not to warm it and I still watched them warm it up to give it to her throughout the last week she was there.  4 There were multiple times I watched as another baby would crawl on top of mine, hurt her, and start her crying all because the "teachers" were carrying on a conversation with each other and their backs were turned for over 10 minutes.  5 They also, quite frequently (twice a day at least) put her down on a boppy or in a bouncy seat and just left her there for over an hour. 6 The ratio is supposed to be 4 to 1, but we were told they try to keep 2 teachers in there at all times. They do not. Any time there are only 4 babies, the second teacher is repurposed leaving one girl for 4 babies, which isn't a good ratio to begin with. 8 I know this one is more of an opinion than fact, but almost every person I talked to there seemed fake. None of them seemed to really care about children, and with the overall age of the "teachers," I really doubt the experience level most of them had. It truly felt to me like they just needed a job and it happened to be in childcare that they found one. 9 Everything had to be told to every "teacher" individually. None of the information we gave to any of her caretakers was passed between them, even when we told the front desk people. 10 At one point our baby started wanting to eat more often during the day. We asked them 3 times before they changed their timer to feed her and, even then, we had to struggle to get them to actually feed her enough. They'd wait until she was crying to feed her, leading her to be so upset she couldn't eat without a little extra coercion that they refused to give. If she didn't eat right away they would give up and wait for the next timer, causing her to actually MISS meals. We reminded them for a week before they started trying more than once to get her to eat on time.  11 We were told they would work on sign language with them. Not once did I see them sign anything with her or any other baby. 12 We were told they would promote tummy time. They never put her on her tummy at all until we told them her doctor said it has to be done: then they'd put her down for a bit, sometimes unattended, and usually right after she ate and had a full tummy. 13 They only changed her outfit if you could see the stain. So all the times she threw up on herself stayed soaked into her clothes all day. 14 When I picked her up the last day the "teachers" were in the process of putting together a booklet with pictures and notes from her stay. Thank you, but I'm not paying you for arts and crafts. I would much rather they spend that time reading a book to my baby instead. 15 They insisted when we registered that full time babies did not share cribs, but she was full time and on her last week there, I saw them pull her out of her crib and place another child in within the same hour. Not okay at all. 16 We never left our baby a pacifier at day care. About 2 weeks in I realized they were using one with her. We picked her up one day and she had it in her mouth so we took it home to get rid of it and reminded them the next day that she didn't have one. A week later there was one in her bucket with her bottles and they told us it had gotten dirty so they were sending home with us to clean again. We told them it wasn't hers and she didn't have one there (again). The last week she was there I saw them using one with her again. What. The. Hell. If it had been any one of these issues, it might not have been a big deal, but it was that they did ALL of these things within the ONE month we were with them that made me so furious. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone and I would strongly suggest anyone considering this place to make absolutely sure you're getting what your pretty penny is paying for before you trust them. read more

This business only avoids a 1-star rating based on the fact that the teachers in the classroom are wonderful. But the business structure and the front office staff absolutely stink, bordering on corruption and/or utter ineptitude. To them, your child is a paycheck. Expect them to use any excuse possible to extract money for you. For example, expect to pay them to NOT watch your child on federal holidays if you're off. If you do consider this establishment, read the handbook to the letter. Preferably with a lawyer. You may save yourself grief and unexpected twists later on. read more

My Son went here for a month and suddenly he was not going anymore. I found out from him 7 days after the fact, he's 7 years old. Long story short, his mom, who is a certified POS, is irresponsible and failed to fill out some paperwork which resulted in his withdrawal. My bank account was charged $722 for the Month! (try enrolling your child in the Lake Stevens boys and girls club, they are way more affordable). I called the Kid N US Billing office and left 4 voicemails. This morning, I called the billing office again 3 times in a row, and instead of the normal answering machine, someone on the billing end was purposely ending my call, no option to leave a voicemail , I called the main Kid N US and told them this is unacceptable and that I will go to my bank and leave a negative review if this isn't fixed. Guess who called less than 2 minutes after I got off the phone. BILLING, and the giggling woman on the other end. Apparently she couldn't or better yet wouldn't refund me the month back. I deal with hundreds of companies a year and they all work differently than this organization. No matter if your child is not attending their school. if one or more parent fails to fill out the withdrawal paperwork, all suffer and Kids N US get to pocket that money. Kids N US. if you're listening. These reviews will cost you THOUSANDS, so go ahead and keep my $722. Ill get that back in small claims court. Other than their garbage billing department, my son had a gash on his head that drew blood from a kid throwing a toy at him. He said the kid didn't even get in trouble. This is NOT the place your child needs to go. Look at the Boys and Girls club in your area instead. It will save you heartache, an injured child, Time and money! They are constantly bringing home their art work, and what I love the most is that we are able to see them through the cameras whenever we miss them. I can't say enough positive things about Lake Stevens Kids N Us. I looked at several daycares in the area and found them to be the best one. The staff is fully engaged with all of the children. Tami and Lisa (front office) are wonderful. They are flexible and I'm pretty sure they know everyone by name that walk through their door. My daughter has been in both Toddlers and now Pre-School 1. She has a great time, and I feel like she is getting the most out of being there. We love to hear all about her day, talk about the art projects they do on a daily basis. I also have an 5 month old son that goes there too! The teachers are all amazing, friendly and I feel like they really care about my children. I would recommend Lake Stevens Kids N Us to all of my friends and family members! I LOVE everything about this daycare. read more

I give 5 stars for several reasons. First, I love the watchmegrow.com they offer. As a new mom I was nervous to leave my child to go back to work but having that feature reassured me. I love watching him play and the teachers seem to always love on the babies and play with them. Lisa and Jen are always willing to answer any questions or concerns that I have. The infant room teachers are AWESOME. Very nice and always talked to me about how my son was doing which I really liked. He just moved over to the waddler room and I was sad to leave his teachers in the infant room but I have every confidence in this daycare and the new teacher he now has. We are very pleased with this school and the staff. Our youngest son has been going here for the past year and he thoroughly enjoys it. The teachers are great, especially the Pre-k 2 staff! When my son had gotten hurt, the primary teacher called me on every phone number we had listed repeatedly until she got ahold of my husband or myself. We love using the cameras to peek in on our little guy throughout the day too. They have occasional Parents Night Out events when they watch movies, play games, do arts and crafts, and have snacks with the kids so you and your significant other can enjoy a date night. The only things I would change though is that it is a bit pricey, especially if your child doesn't attend the whole day. I would base it more on when the child is signed in and signed out rather than one fixed price every 2 weeks. I am sure there is a reason for not doing this, but I wish it was a bit more affordable. Also, I feel that having the same staff in the room everyday is important. For the most part, it has always been the same teachers and I understand that they get sick and or need time off, but when there is new staff that come in, I don't know who they are and they never introduce themselves. Let me preface this by saying I am an ueber-educated mother who was looking for the best of the best. I initially avoided the Everett Kids N Us because, frankly, it's next to an offramp of I-5. HOWEVER, after trying many different daycare centers (and yes, I wanted a center built to care for kids, not someone's home that, let's face it, may still have danger zones for children like hanging cords, etc.), I got the best feeling from this center. Not only the longevity of staff, but also the well-organized information they provided, the clear policies, and competency of the daycare employee in explaining their policies all convinced me this was a place to seriously consider. The "extracurricular" activities - Spanish once a month, plus the option of computer classes once a week, plus the occasional "Kids Night Out" when kids get to spend a Saturday evening at the daycare center at a reduced rate while parents get a break - plus the Watch Me Grow cameras in the classroom ( allowing me to check in via computer throughout my workday) - were decisive factors in choosing the Everett Kids N Us. Five years later, my daughter loves the place, the employees treat her with respect and care, and she is offered a varying curriculum to prepare her for school. Perhaps you will have a different feeling if you visit this location, but I went on a gut feeling that proved absolutely correct. By the way, to the disgruntled "Geoff R.," I am not sure what you are upset about. This daycare offers the option to use up to two weeks of vacation credit (i.e., you do not need to pay for the day if your child is not there - just let them know which days and ask to use the credit). Also, this daycare is open on Federal Holidays (such as MLK day) when many businesses are closed. read more

I was skeptical about 'cookie cutter' daycare for a long time. I also spent alot of research before deciding where to go. We originally went with a private in home daycare center. I thought that would be the wiser choice & my son would have more one on one time with the provider, only to get a phone call to pick up my son because she was being shut down for investigation of negligence. Which just goes to show you don't really know unless you really know. Ultimately we ended up returning to the Kids N Us option. The staff has been great & have treated my son with nothing but respect. After our incident with the 'in home care provider' it is a TOTAL piece of mind to be able to check on him anytime from anywhere. I do agree with some of the other reviews I have read here... The one thing I wish they did more of is group games & more educational programs. It is a little spendy but I will gladly pay for the cleanliness & piece of mind. read more

My child has attended this daycare for over 4 years. Although I was a little unsure about some of the teachers and how they handled the kids the director was amazing and always made me feel better. In 2011 after Kelly left I must say things started to really go down hill. Calling or email to check on my child seemed to be an annoyance for anyone up front. Each morning dropping my child off the front desk receptionist wouldn't even greet you.... As the new school year was coming up my child would be going from 4 full days a week to about 9 hours a week as he was starting kindergarten. I vocalized with Lisa that I was unsure of his schedule and to let me know about pricing. Apparently Lisa had been out of work for a few weeks shortly after and pricing info. Was never given to me on the new hours my child would be attending. Assuming since he was going way less I figured it'd be cheaper.....wrong wrong wrong! First day of my child starting school I had him ride the bus to daycare so he'd know where to go each day. Waiting for him at his daycare when he arrived I spoke with the girl up front as she then informed me daycare costs for hourly went up to about 16 dollars a hour. So why was I getting charged 55 dollars for 3-4 hours at your "drop in" rate? Once I was given an invoice and paying over 445 for a little under two weeks i recieve another invoice for 300. I noticed a 30 dollar charge (his first day of school, when I met him there and picked him up as he arrived) Lisa replied to that with "anytime they are in our care even for 2 minutes we charge a two hour minimum. Sorry about that....) sorry about that? Not only have I been a loyal customer for 4 years and trusted you and my staff with my child, you now aren't even willing to work with me? Have I not given you consistent business long enough for you to continue to want to EARN my business? you and your staff can't even give proper pricing information....How does it even make sense to pay more for 9 hours a week than for 4 full days a week!? The price in general was something I was willing to continue to pay because my child had been there so long but the lack of communication, bad customer service, and the attitude of just not giving a crap is what set me off!! Continue to run your business with this attitude and you will have no one attending! Parents are trusting and paying you with their life! The least you can do is be sympathetic and actually show you care about us! So disappointed!!! read more
