I've received adjustments here since Dec 24 and I'm happy to report I'm feeling much better! I have no more back, neck, or shoulder pain. My range of motion has improved and I'm more mindful of my posture while driving and working. I'm focusing on maintenance now by coming in at least once a month. I am 23 with a body of a 50 year old woman. My back is just not what it was, and it's definitely not the back of a person my age. After years of abuse to my back from dancing, cross-training and weight lifting, the shift into a 9-5 office job made it necessary to get my back checked. My sister got me a LivingSocial coupon for my birthday. It included a one hour back massage and a chiropractic consultation. If it weren't for that LivingSocial, I don't think I would have ever found Dr. Kart at the Northwest Chiropractic, as it is a bit out of the way for me in terms of distance from work and home. Parking was a little confusing, as the lot is slightly lifted from the road, so be sure to enter from the storefront, not the side, as most spots are blocking the entrance from the side. Sonya greeted me from the receptionist's counter as I spoke to her on the phone and she had been waiting for my arrival. After filling out the online form, the office had called my contact number to set up a firm appointment and inform me of the paperwork to complete before arriving at the office. She gave me a few more forms to sign, mostly release forms, then sat me down in Dr. Kart's office to give me the rundown. It was extremely scripted, sounded like a memorized dialogue, but I let her take me around the office on a brief tour (what...) and explain to me the different rooms and areas. Finally, I returned back to Dr. Kart's office to watch a 5 minute orientation video to a brief introduction to the benefits of chiropractic work. Dr. Kart then shortly appeared and greeted me warmly, then sat down to ask me a few background questions after previewing my paperwork. She then took me into an examination room where she did a few simple tests, such as seeing where my center of balance is and the straightness of my shoulders. Afterward, she took a quick X-ray, which we went over the following visit the next day. It appeared I needed a three month treatment, but being younger, it should be an easy fix. I do enjoy easy fixes! Northwest Chiropractic takes most big insurance plans, but check on their website - even if it's not listed online, they may still accept it. Payment plans are available: mine is a 3-payment plan to pay off the entire total in 3 months. It's not cheap, but that's the fault of my insurance company, not the chiropractic office. They offered me admission to a workshop that teaches how to stay young but be healthy using chiropractic work, but I'm not sure I'll be able to make it out after my three adjustments a week here, but it seems like a good opportunity for patients to learn how to stay young and healthy. Overall I had a good experience. Don't feel like this is the location for me driving convenience wise but I'm $360 in for the long haul... Curse you, $45 chiropractor co-pay! read more

DON'T DO IT! I chose this Doctor not only because she was close to my office but in a quick pain-laden glance she seemed to have decent accolades. Worst 2 visits (in one day, had to wait all day for her X-rays to develop before adjusting me), 2+ hours out of my day and $205 I ever spent. I'd rather pay a parking ticket because at least I know I did something wrong to deserve the bullshit. The doctors bedside manor seemed liked something I'd find at a southern greasy spoon. Her equipment was out dated the "X-ray" as she called them were not up to professional chiropractic standards let alone basic medical practice. All that somehow seemed to pair perfectly with the fact that she didn't even assess my back/muscles/spine with her hands, but with a plastic back massager. Pushing away asking "feel that?" All the while I'm wondering "....do you?". In the end the real clincher was, the overall lack of concern for the patient. There really isn't any of that here, just a facade of exaggerated "bless your heart" attitudes. After the Dr. went over the X-rays with me she said she was going to have one of the nurses come in and go through treatment and payment plans. I begged if we could please just do an adjustment first as I've been waiting all day (2nd visit once X-rays developed) she quickly replied "No, we'll do this first" and walked out. No exaggeration there, I recorded the entire office visit on my phone...I knew things were going to be fishy when I saw the early peak at those X-rays while she kept me waiting in the room for 10minutes. In the end it's just about money for this office. I gave Dr. Kart the benefit of the doubt because I was in so much pain and tight for time with work. Shame on me? Dr. Kart and her staff are incredibly knowledgeable and professional. She goes above and beyond for her patients. She has called me on a day when the clinic was closed just to check on me. She was concerned about some swelling in my legs and urged me to go to the ER. I went to my general practitioner's office who gave me medication for an illness I did NOT have and sent me on my way. I did not take the medicine but instead followed Dr. Karts advice and went to the ER. Turns out I had a life threatening condition that the GP missed so Dr. Kart essentially saved my life! read more

Went there back in October because my back tightened up so bad that I could barely walk and was in a LOT of pain. For some reason, Dr. Kart would only treat my left side. And when I asked if she was going to do the right side (where the pain was mostly coming from) she declined. After about 4 visits I felt no relief. I then went to Pain 2 Wellness on Cascade Rd and Dr. Carhee and his team immediately identified the issue on the first visit and in 2 visits I was feeling a great deal of relief. First of all, I have to say I'm quite shocked to see a review complaining about Dr. Kart's bedside manner. This is by far the most involved, caring chiropractor I've ever seen. Yes, your follow up appointments are quick - just like they are at every single chiropractor. The only difference is, Dr. Kart doesn't crack every bone in your body every time you go in. She takes care of the problem and moves on. There was one time she had me sit in a chair to crack my neck because of something she saw or felt in my back, but besides that she has only worked on my back. I've had low back issues forever and every chiro I went to would just crack my neck, hips, back every time I came in without really focusing in on the problem - the fact that my low back was severely curved. Dr Kart will go through a very comprehensive treatment plan for you and she does not come up with this plan in 10 minutes. She works on it overnight and puts a lot of thought into it. Everything is transparent - from the cost to how long it'll take to fix the problem. My back issues instantly dissolved as well as other symptoms I'd been experiencing (bloating, lack of sleep, digestion issues). I'm still in the process of "fixing" my back but I live pain free 95% of the time. Also, the staff is incredibly nice and accommodating. I would recommend this place to anyone. Bottom line: It's extremely apparent that Dr. Kart knows her stuff and she treats your issue like a real medical problem. She focuses her treatment on that problem specifically and doesn't just go through a general cracking regimen every time you come in (if you've been to chiros, you know what I mean!). The Best in Town! Dr Kart took time to explain what my options were in taking care of my spine. She gave me a thorough exam and x-rays to make sure that my problem could be handled by her. A staff persons explained all the fees before they ran my bill up. I really liked that. It was such an awesome experience that I have returned for her to see my children. She has a special department just for kids. They are very considerate about scheduling and are open late. I recently made the switch over to Northwest Chiropractic on Howell Mill Road. I instantly hit it off with Dr. Leana Kart. She is a bundle of energy and she knows her stuff. I had several issues for her to address and she skillfully got me back into alignment. Dr. Kart invests in her practice and has some great equipment (x-ray equipment, massage tables, inversion table, vertical tables etc). She and her staff are very accommodating and care about your health and wellness. I hold back my fifth star because she doesn't have any Saturday hours. I went in yesterday with major back pain. I told Dr. Kart that I had an appointment in two days with a Physiccal Therapist, which at the time I didn't see as a problem sharing. She then said she would look at me, but when I asked the cost of a session, she abruptly left and told me one of the staff would lay out the options. I was surprised she couldn't tell me what a session would cost? Then came into the "Consult Room" a gentleman who said I would have to make another appointment and bring back x rays of my back. She wouldn't see me today. I couldn't believe it. This was after I had waited for over an hour. So I basically was asked to leave, and I think it was because I asked how much the services cost, or the fact I told her I also considering a physiccal therapist. I must also add the entire experience was very "salesy" with a tour of the office, and videos and so forth, which made me feel on edge. I would not recommend this group to anyone. I felt almost like they were selling snake oil. I was able to find other places in the Howell Mill Shopping Center just down the road. read more

I give this practice only one star for numerous reasons: (1) During my first appointment, they had me waiting forever (30 min) to see Dr. Kart. I spoke to her for probably 5 minutes before she called her assistant in and he proceeded to discuss payments with me. He seemed pushy and kept insisting I can "afford it" and it would be fine etc etc. (I don't like ppl telling me what i can and can't afford)-- thats really not your business (2) My follow on appointments/adjustments were literally 10 min each. They make you lay down on a "massage bed" thing -- and charge your insurance $30 for it. Then Dr. Kart sees you for literally 5 min, does a quick adjustment and then shoos you away (3) If you ask Dr. Kart any questions about why your treatment isn't making a difference, she just smiles, shrugs her shoulders, and says it takes time. I bought into this and thought "ok it takes time.. " and kept coming 3x's a week for a month. At the end of the month, i was no better than day 1! (4) The last day I decided i would see Dr. Kart was when I got in a little disagreement with her front desk staff, asking me for payment (I have insurance). I told them they can bill my insurance and they'll take care of it. they refused and insisted i pay then and there. I refused bc i knew if i paid them there, my payment would not go towards my deductible, which was useless for me. And they charges $40/appointment and that is NOT the aetna rate-- the rate is more like $17.. so no way I was going to pay $40. She started ignoring me and turned to help other patients in the middle of getting our payment issue worked out-- which aggravated me to no end! So i walked out and told her to deal w/ it through the insurance company. If you want to get ripped off, see a dr with no bed side manner, and incompetent staff, then this is your place. There are several other chiropractors in the area that would be worth trying out before this place! read more

Several years ago I had a bad experience having my neck adjusted and was often resistant to having anyone work on my neck since then, but Dr. Kart never disappoints. She works on my back and neck and I always get great results from her adjustments. I also appreciate how friendly everyone is in her office. i injured my back about 4 years ago while lifting a tree stump and was nearing immobile for a few days. ever since then, i would re-injure my back every time i lifted anything heavy. it got so bad that i couldn't lift 80 pounds off the ground without extreme pain. i first went to a accupuncture place to receive treatment but it did not help. then, i had a chance encounter with one of dr. kart's workers at a health-fair and decided to try out chiropractic care. after the initial assessment with an x-ray, i decided to begin treatment. the visits take no longer than 5 minutes for the back-alignment which is convenient for me and my back has no hurt at all since. i am able to a 300 pound barbell off the ground without pain. i continue receiving treatments from dr. kart so that my back will stay in alignment until it "sets" that way permanently. read more

Dr. kart is a New Yorker so she does not emulate the "southern charm" that particular patient might be looking for, but Dr. kart is just herself - straightforward, maybe a bit blunt, but all in all playful, funny, very caring, and a spectacular chiropractor. I started coming to Northwest Chiropractic over 4 years ago when I was experiencing severe foot and leg pain. I was contemplating quitting my teaching job because I had to do a lot of walking and other interventions had not worked. Dr. Kart healed me! She found that my hips were out of alignment. She quickly corrected my issue. I still go occasionally for adjustments for other aliments as they pop up like after I sprained my ankle. Recently, I had a knot on my wrist, a physician ordered a costly MRI on my hand. I suspected it might be a bone alignment issue so I went to visit Dr.Kart. She corrected the issue within seconds and my wrist pain was gone. The massages are also reasonably priced and effective in relieving my muscle tension.
