The incredibly rude nurse of Dr Olsen came out, claimed I'd had "numerous last-minute cancellations" (Technically 2 is "numerous" but the first time I was very sick and they told me not to come in and the second was when I'd just had a separate surgery on my hand and they didn't mind rescheduling it 6 weeks out. They also sent a mailed confirmation last week so not buying it.) and "Dr Olsen says to go back to [another clinic] and see the surgeons there to get re-evaluated." Which doesn't work for me since due to them I have defective hernia mesh and a bigger hernia than ever that is causing major health issues. If it weren't for her attitude I'd feel sorry for her since Dr Olsen was too much of a coward to come out and tell me himself. I have never come across truly despicable people like this in the medical industry and it's clear that they care more about patient volume than practicing medicine in an ethical way, let alone helping people in desperate need. I have had 3 Dr's retire Dr Thurman is the last Mohican from the original clinic, after he finally decided to to sell to a big chain. We followed him to Evergreen in Monroe. I am a loyal patient as he is a loyal Dr. He is calming, honest, doesn't claim to know everything. He will refer to a specialist if need be to find out the diagnosis. He is a Dr but also a detective in seeking answers to help in diagnosing whatever is ailing his patient. He really cares. His generation like mine is one of the last that we're taught to be respectful, humble, truthful, honest, caring, communicative. I am proactive also. I more than anyone know my body. I must communicate & research effectively so my Dr then can refer me to a specialist or possibly diagnose what is going on. Its teamwork always, or you may not get the answers you need. Dr Thurman is very popular. If he is taking a new client then you are blessed to have him as your primary care provider. I am very detailed in my communication which is helpful to all Dr's. Pharmacists know the most about types of medications, which one is the best for you, based on your medical conditions & all diagnosis. I must call my provider to see if they will cover some medications if I want to switch. Dr's are not pharmacists, they know medicine but not all brands of every kind. That research is my job with a pharmacist. Find a patient pharmacist. If you dont like an answer from your Dr be kind & tell him. Ask if there are any other options for you. Then call your provider to see if they will pay for what you want, or cover the cost of medicine, or treatments that may be needed. Communication takes two. Be Proactive. She has a doctorate degree in…read moresomething relating to medical, and takes advantage of that to call herself "Dr." She is actually a family nurse practitioner. Nothing wrong with being a nurse practitioner, but it is a bit misleading to call yourself "Dr." in a medical setting, if you aren't one. I am not a high-maintenance patient; I go to the Dr. for my annual exam and an occasional illness, but that's about it. I do take a prescription for sleep (that I have taken for over 14 years. Dr. Deonne's office could not seem to manage the monthly refills for this prescription. While my previous Dr (before I moved here) used to call in 6 months worth of refills of this prescription Dr. Deonne would only call in 1-3 months at a time, and demanded that I be seen several times a year before whe would call in a refill. Please note that I said 1-3 months... that's because the # of refills varied from refill to refill. On four seperate occasions during the one year that I was a patient there, I had to call the office several times in order to get my prescription refilled. While I understand that refilling a monthly prescription does not generate revenue for the "Dr.," it goes with the job to do so. Yet each time I had to call (because they claimed the had not gotten the fax from my QFC pharmacy), I felt as though I was a huge burden to the office. Was Deonne competent? I think so. I did not feel unsafe there. She was quite thorough in her exams and testing, but I felt that all of the follow-up appointments she required were simply so she could bill my insurance for another office visit. It must be difficult for such a small office to make it financially, especially since they are only in the office on Mon/Wed/Fri, but only providing good service when there is potential gain may be one of the reasons that she isn't busy.And now it seems there website is not working... End Note: I found a new Dr,, and she was happy to call in six months worth of refills on my sleepy pill prscription after my new patient exam. No strings attached. :-)

The specialists all give her high marks and she is recognized as a skilled, learned professional. I have been her patient for over 4 years. She takes care of my routine exams and those sessions that require deeper research. When I complained about a constant, persistent pain, she believed me. Even though nothing could be found on Cat scans or MRIs. She sent me to a specialist because she believed and I wound up having emergency surgery. When I had an aneurysm 2 years ago, the emergency doctors wanted to know my medications. My friends placed a call and within an hour she had called back and they knew my list of medications and what they were for. She is a very nice lady because the first time I met her, I was mean and ugly during a manic phase of my Bi-polar illness. When I saw her a year later, she was a class act and never mentioned that incident. Because she does have a small practice, I can always get an appointment. "Dr. Deonne" is the Best. She will continue to be my Primary Care Provider.

Just 8 weeks later I'm using my right hand again and the pain is gone. I cannot reccomend Dr. Guyette enough. He is an excellent surgeon, explains everything very well and has a great personality!

As a Black woman, I was subjected to treatment that exemplifies the medical disparities POC face daily in healthcare settings. On my first visit to discuss the removal of skin tags and to have PA Lehr examine my ruptured cyst, his behavior immediately made me uncomfortable. He greeted me with an exaggerated, stereotypical handshake that felt forced and inappropriate--something I guarantee he doesn't do with his white patients in Edmonds. During this visit, he prescribed a powerful antibiotic for my ruptured cyst without mentioning it needed to be taken with food. This potentially dangerous oversight was only caught by my pharmacist, not the doctor who prescribed it. When I returned for my second visit to have the skin tags removed, PA Lehr greeted me with the same uncomfortable handshake. When I asked if the procedure would hurt, his dismissive response that "it's not going to hurt him" was both condescending and unprofessional. I had to specifically ask about aftercare instructions myself--information that should be provided automatically. For my third visit to address the now-calmed cyst, PA Lehr once again greeted me with the same inappropriate handshake. I couldn't help but think: would a 50-year-old white woman, man or non-binary person be treated this way? Absolutely not. During the procedure, he provided minimal explanation and zero aftercare guidance. Only the support staff stepped in to give me the proper information I needed. The support staff was competent, but they can't compensate for a doctor who treats patients differently based on how they look. This is medical racism, plain and simple--not jokes, not lightheartedness, but the exact kind of differential treatment that research consistently shows undermines care for communities of color. I'm giving two stars solely because: 1) The procedures were technically completed and 2) The support staff provided information the PA should have given. I will never return to this practice and strongly advise against it for anyone--ESPECIALLY people of color who deserve healthcare providers who see and respect them as human beings deserving equal care and dignity.
