Being a diabetic, I see her every nine weeks to monitor my feet, to prevent any problems such as diabetic ulcers, which a diabetic friend of mine had and subsequently led to amputation of his leg. I highly recommend Dr Kalmar. Note: her offices have moved from Naperville to 1S067 Summit Ave in Oak Brook Terrace, which is on Summit Ave. just south of Roosevelt Rd. across the street from "Pete's Fresh Market".

Had two nail surgeries with Dr. Riya Vyas at Fox Valley Foot & Ankle, it was only a fun game until…read moreproblem happened. surgeries were unsuccessful (you can look at my pictures) and that's not the worst part. Worse part is that during the surgery for my left toe Dr. Riya Vyas only performed the surgery on one side and forgot to do it on the other side, and forgot to prescribe antibiotics after surgeries, that caused me infections, fever and pain that I had to go to urgent care by myself. When I reach out to her and told her about everything, she never even said a word of sorrow, and she push all the blame on me - claiming I required to only do 50% of the surgery during the process. I never required such thing and why would I? Just use common sense, it's not that deep. So far I never received any apologies, no sympathy, her clinic was basically just protecting her and never showed me any sorrow. Walk into this clinic with your own risk, it's only "nice and friendly" when things goes well. You better hope you never get into any medical malpractice, otherwise they will just tell you "you asked for it" with cold tone.

Dr. Watkins came highly recommended but my experience with him was the complete opposite. During my visit, he completely ignored and did not discuss the findings of the MRI disc and X-rays that I provided him, but took his own X-rays of the non injury foot too. I can only conclude to get more money from my insurance. HE DIDN'T TREAT MY INJURED FOOT but wrote in his notes that there was no visible fracture, and then gave me a piece of paper to order orthotics off Amazon. Being confused, disappointed and upset, I got a third opinion from a DPM, and she reviewed all of the X-rays, MRI, and the notes from the first DPM (fracture) and Dr. Watkins, and her findings was that I DID HAVE AN OBVIOUS VISIBLE FRACTURE. She immediately treated my injured foot without taking her own X-rays, and gave me an compression sock, took out the soles from my shoe and replaced them with the orthotics from Amazon for a temporary use. On the same day, she took an impression of my injured foot for custom orthotics because it was too late to perform surgery. MY CONCLUSION IS THIS, IT APPEARED TO ME, THAT DR. WATKINS SAW THE COLOR OF MY SKIN AND DECIDED TO GIVE ME IMPLICIT TREATMENT.

Made up some home-made device with tape and gauze. Which caused her more pain. Took her to Lurie's Children Hospital and Dr. Brasher felt the fractures in her foot then took x-rays and located all three and casted her.

I decided to go through with the operation having 100% confidence in her. The operation went as good as could be expected. Went home with very clear instructions on what to expect and what to do if problems occurred. Which none did. She had prescribed the medications at the pre-op visit, so I had them when I got home. My appointment was no more than 20 minutes, but I was not rushed. I was seen for a toe infection that had been reoccurring for about 5 months. I had 5 previous appointments with a different podiatrist, but my toe continued worsening. After seeing Dr. Rizvi, my toe began improving within a week. Hopefully, I won't be seeing him anytime soon. However, he'll be the only podiatrist I go to from now on.
