Workers will direct you to specific bins depending on what type of garbage you're bringing in, but they do have dedicated areas for recycling different items. They don't take "construction materials" like pink insulation, as only the facility in White Marsh will take that. So much for convenience.

MD recycle says they match competitors prices, that too is a mess, you have to call the competition and get their price and then call MD recycle and tell them what the competitor pays and then ask if they will match it, ugh, a time waster. Just take your stuff to Terrapin, they have an efficient operation and the same hours as the others. The staff there could not be more friendly. I love the paper trail that each transaction takes, they are honest.

The staff that i have dealt with were both friendly and quick. Prices are competitive with other metal recyclers in are area. They are also far more comprehensive with metal theft clearance then what i have seen from others in the area. Not only do they take your license plate, but they also scan your driver's license / photo ID. The only thing i don't like is that they use the atm thing to disperse cash to you. But otherwise, until i find a reason not to, i think i'll be taking my scrap metal and aluminum cans here for the foreseeable future.

The folks running the place have always been courteous / professional and when I check the prices for large weights and amounts they are competitive. If you ever want to see where all the broken and old stuff goes stop in here -like I do with my weekly aluminum cans- and you'll see neatly organized things, some of which I have no idea what they are or where they come from. Traffic is not an issue as they are not on the main drag, so getting in and out is pretty easy. They have 3 or 4 bays and someone is usually helpful loading and unloading my recyclables so I don't waste a lot of time. The thing I like the MOST if rather than taking it to the dump I get a few dollars in my pocket and feel like I am doing my part.

My fault was not checking the weight tickets until this afternoon where I strongly feel I was shorted 100 to 200#'s of scrap weight. check your weight tickets before leaving. He & the cars parked in the lot's handicapped spots will be getting fined. He doesn't own the lot (and it's shared with a federal office- the post office, which makes the handicapped spots an even bigger deal). It's the second time this guy has been really aggressive with me. Banging on my car windows, screaming at me without being provoked. There's other places to do laundry- I'm currently at one. I usually park in the rear, where plenty of parking awaits. Be mindful of the obscure entrance in the rear. You may need to dodge incoming traffic as you park. The washing machines are card (plastic), and the dryers are coin only. There are options if you arrive without cash. There's an ATM and bill changing station. You will be covered if you have a bank account with funds available. There are washing machines capable of loads ranging from 20lbs to 135lbs; the dryers have two roomy sizes you can choose. If you divide your load across a few, you'll never run out of options. You will never have a hard time finding a laundry cart. The staff does a great job lining the available carts along the outside wall. All in all, I have no complaints. I will return.
