This company was hired to do a roof repair on a house we were closing on, we were told he guaranteed his repair work but not the whole roof as his company did not install the original roof. The roof continued to leak in the same spot and it took many phone calls, left messages, and several months to get a response. Owner came and looked , said he would be back that week to address the issue and never heard from him again. I told him I expected to pay for additional work to stop the leak as I just wanted it repaired. Never a response, e mail, phone call, nothing. If you don't want the job just say so! this is an update from my two star review. I am not sure how to change the old rating but they finally came back . they fixed what had been left unfinished and where someone had come a bit through the ceiling. for a very old ceiling they did a great job matching it up . And so far through all the rain we had I have not seen any leaks . the gutters all seem to be working now and we all lived through it . if it had all happened at one time rather than a bit of a span from beginning to end it would have been a 5 for sure. the roof should outlive me but otherwise I would hire them again . thank you Nicole for remaining calm . read more

We thought we could trust him because we're practically neighbors, but it was a horrible experience. The roof was replaced, and in the process they destroyed a tree in our yard, left stains all over our porch, and covered the yard in roofing debris (which was NOT picked up as advertised). And then the new roof started leaking, which had never happened before. They came by and tried to blame the windows, the chimney, the siding... none of which had changed. leaking gutter ,gutter hanging cock eyed, foot through living room ceiling . and very odd over hang with rumors they would fix. after months of calling and messaging was told again it would be fixed . so far only rumors still . the crew did show up but not the boss except to get the job and collect the checks. Sorry I have to state the facts, but it took me a dozen or more phone calls to finally get this company to return my call. when I was finally called, I was set up with an exact time and date that a rep. would evaluate my roofing issues. I traveled 20 miles to meet a representative at the site, and after 40 minutes of waiting and the additional inability to reach anyone on the phone, I had to call it a day and return home with no more than a waisted trip, time and gas utilized. These folks put a new roof on our 4-plex in Seaside two plus years ago and said it had a ten-year warranty. Well, last week the roof started leaking despite there being no visible damage to the roof. After five days of calling with no return phone calls I gave up and called another roofing company to check out the damage. NW Roofing ended up calling back, apparently had some family issues. Got right on over to the property and checked out the roof to make sure there were no other issues. Bummer that I had to pay another company to fix the leak. read more

They showed up! once. That's the best I can say for them. They came out to bid a project... 4 emails, 2 phone calls, and 4 weeks later we haven't heard a peep. If they are THAT busy (which I doubt given the quality of service) then they shouldn't have offered to bid the job. They wasted a month when we TOLD them we were anxious to start. We purchased a historic home in Astoria. The roof was leaking and the fireplaces leaked so bad that the ceilings were caving in. During the winter Gary came over in the worst weather and attempted to stop the flood. This did help but we all agreed that the roof and flashing would need to come off and find the real reason this thing was leaking. We waited for a long streak of good weather and they came and tore off this roof. It is 42 square and over 40 ft high. I cant believe how wonderful this crew was. Neighbors were commenting on how professional and courteous they were. The roof looks amazing. They cleaned up the mess picked up all nails and trash. Last week we got over 1 1/2 inches of rain in 2 days and no leak. I would highly recommend them. read more

We've been waiting a few months before writing this review because things were so up & down with this company that we wanted to see if they would show consistent improvement. Nope. In fact, things have gotten worse. This started out as 2 projects: a roof tear-off project and a drywall project for our kitchen remodel. Originally we contacted Gary's brother, who seemed like a nice enough guy but AFTER he showed up & did the walkthrough, he then said that he wasn't licensed in Oregon! He then referred us to NR&C, Gary's company, whose wife Cheyene sent us the bid for the roof work. Later, Gary came over and said he'd send his "great" drywall guy by to do that project. 1) Roof - estimate came in, made down payment, told us it'd take 3 days max. Took over a week...plus they don't work weekends even if in the middle of a project! Before the new roof went up, they covered things up & we had to set up buckets in our (attic) master bedroom and garage because it was leaking. When they removed skylights they gave no warning (so we could move/cover things) & we had to actually tell them to clean up because there was debris all over our floor & bed (!). We'd asked them to roof the house, garage & hothouse & then they claimed that the quote didn't include the hothouse. During the skylight issue, Cheyene called mid-job to say it'll be an extra $2K even though we were told they were in fine shape. Suddenly they weren't so we just had them removed because we didn't want prices jacked up even more (this project btw cost 2X what we paid for a similar size tear-off in PDX, that had MORE layers than our house here - paid just under 20K here in Astoria). They also said no problem working in the rain, yet one day it rained & the Lead said "we're all just too wet" & they left after an hour. Seriously? The roof ultimately was done well, thankfully, but then they did not properly reattach the gutters, & windstorms made them rattle horribly. When we diagnosed this, Gary came out & said they'd fixed it, but a couple days later it was rattling. Contacted Cheyene to tell her, she said they were out at a training & back in 3 days and...3 WEEKS passed with no response, even though I said they could come by when we were out. Along with this, they never gave me a copy of the warranty. We've had a tear-off done before and this was just strange to not give the customer this at the time of payment. 2 months post-job we asked for this & she was clearly unfamiliar with doing this for customers. Another month has gone by and we still have received no copy of warranty for our roof. 2) Drywall. A total DISASTER. They promised it'd be done in 3 days. It took 5 & was still not finished - we had to kick out their "great" guy, Ron, from our house as he was a nightmare. Ron bragged about how great he was & even though they knew we lived in this house,we had to ask multiple times to put up plastic between rooms to prevent dust. He then asked to use our personal items (fan, garbage bags, etc.) rather than provide them as he should've. The dust gave us a horrible cough & Cheyene had the nerve to chastise & say we shouldn't even be IN our house. Well sorry but this is where we LIVE & we can't pay for a hotel because Ron was too lazy to put up plastic. He finally put it up then clearly showed he had NO finishing skills - seams & bumps all over the place, cut our kitchen plumbing pipe out without telling us, didn't clean up, mud everywhere & Gary ended up coming out & cleaning up himself & apologizing...& admitted he'd NEVER used Ron for drywall, that their regular drywall guy just wasn't available. WTF!! We finished drywall ourselves & did a better job. + Gary said he thinks Ron has a drug problem. 3) Contacted Cheyene around the holidays to request a quote on windows & siding so they'd have plenty of time to fit us in, even sent photos, & said multiple times we needed upstairs windows ASAP, yet she still doesn't get back to us. Gary finally comes over last week, took measurements & said he'd get right back to us on these (we told them no rush on siding), & a week went by & had to ask Cheyene twice when for the windows estimate. Yesterday she sends an estimate with ZERO breakdown, no options on window styles as Gary'd promised, just a $ amount. Asked for details & she responds w/ photos of paperwork (?) then says they're withdrawing their bid because they're 2 mos out & Gary was just being nice because we were prior customers (funny, if she'd responded when we contacted them we could have had it done on time). So basically they wasted months of our time for NOTHING, knowing they couldn't do the work, & showing that they could care less about communicating professionally & honestly with customers. Oh yeah - and still can't say when she'll get us our warranty from Owens-Corning. Maybe others are fine with getting constant runaround and broken promises and their time disrespected, but we are not. MASSIVE FAIL. read more

I had a good amount of dry rot to the south side (weather side) of my house in my T111 siding. I could only afford to replace the trouble spot which was the lower wall. Gary's team came out and in a day and a half replaced it with Hardie plank which required replacement of some dry rotted wood under the window. They tore off the bad T 111, replaced with appropriate board, thoroughly wrapped it around and replaced, created trim at both ends of wall, window, dryer vent and electrical box very professionally. They even secured my gutter. These guys are professional, thorough and made good time. I would highly recommend them. Cheyene works in scheduling as is professional also. They treat their customers right and don't over charge!! read more
