I had them come out to check on known leaks in two skylights. One of their people, Jeremy, came out. I asked him to look for other issues as well. He identified seal failures and a few other problems on several other skylights as well (and I verified easily later-- I don't spend a lot of time staring at my ceiling ;) ). This was not a shock-- house was built in 1992 and skylights do not last forever. I did have a couple other firms come out to look at the roof and Northwest Tile Roofing was the only one which identified other real issues. Example: everyone else missed a leaking skylight in a walk-in closet; Jeremy saw it right away. The other good part is that they were fine with me sourcing the windows independently (a family friend has a window business); they still charged for installation and removal of the old windows, but that was happening regardless. Finally, the price was what you would expect for a crew of ~6 people for 2 days, but the roof did not appear to have had much if any maintenance done to it over the last 28 years. Everything about Northwest Tile Roofing was great. In August they cleaned our roof, replaced broken tiles, and replaced our sky lights. The customer service was great, the crew worked really hard, and did a great job of cleaning up. Then two months later a branch from a tree fell onto our roof and broke one of our tiles and they came out and fixed it for us free of charge. Northwest tile was very helpful even though it was just a very small purchase. I need 10 roofing tiles for some repair and Oli bent over backward to help me even though it was just a $50 purchase. I happened to be in the area on a Saturday, but they trusted me enough to set out the tiles for me and leave the money. I am very appreciative to them for this, since I could not find these tiles anywhere else. For $50 I would not have expected any company to give me the time of day. This review is years overdue. At the recommendation of a coworker, I called NW Tile when my almost 30 year old roof started leaking after a storm in 2016. The roof also desperately needed deferred maintenance. Marty and his crew set to work replacing the broken tiles, also cleaning and removing years of moss and gunk. The roof looked amazing when they were done. Jeremy came out a couple of times to help chase a leak around the chimney (not at all related to the previous storm damage). He was professional and communicative, showed me photos of the problem areas, and walked me through the repairs. Stacy was helpful and friendly as she coordinated from the office. Under New ownership- avoid at all costs!!!!! They used to be awesome. But two weeks ago i asked them to come out for an estimate to clean my roof. Yes i have a decent sized house but $4,000 to clean my roof- i don't think so. When i called them on it, they talked about needing 2 crews and 8 people to come out to my house. 8 people? What a farce. Btw, the last time i had my roof cleaned it cost about $1,000 Run the other way. And in response to the owners comment below: 1) After the experience with them I had my roof cleaned for about 1500 dollars by a very reputable roofing company that i plan to use going forward- they were fantastic 2) the owner is publicly sharing the value of my house as justification for their gouging estimate. Do you want to work with a company that will share your information publicly- neither do i. 3)I did call them directly to discuss voice my disbelief over their pricing and that is when they made up that story about needing 7 or 8 people. They didn't feel bad about what they were doing. 4) The man who came out to give me the estimate said he was taking over the business. If that's not true then take it up with him- maybe a coup is in the works :) read more
