I worked with Kathryn Flower when purchasing my home, and she was amazing. From keeping my inbox…read morefull of potential houses to showing me my top picks to talking shop about the house itself, she was pleasant, knowledgeable, and so much fun. When my husband and I found a house we really like, though, her skill really shone through. She kept all the paperwork tidy and timely, kept her eye on all those minute details we could never keep straight, and willing to work towards what my husband and I wanted, while still giving us tips from her years of experience. She really put the emphasis on us while doing all of the work. I thought buying a house would be a hair-pullingly stressful situation, but Kathryn kept everything calm. I've been in my new house now for a few months, and couldn't be happier. If I were to move I would work with her again in a heartbeat.

It ended up sitting on the market until March 2013. Nobody wants to buy a house that needs 50k + is was a beautiful house with great views but i am glad i didnt buy it. I had done my research and i knew that i could buy a house for less than 15k if i was willing to spend many hours looking. The market was glutted with foreclosures in early 2012.

As mentioned, we relocated from CA at the beginning of lockdown and the house was received in poor condition. We went on to have 2 major water leaks during our 2.5 years there so while we loved the neighborhood and the house has nice exterior, it was very obvious that the interior was not properly maintained and in poor condition. I mean the first clue was the water stains on the kitchens drop ceiling when we moved in. Despite referring to us as excellent tenants, we were disappointed to receive a small percentage of our security deposit back. On 3 separate occasions, he came to the house while we were there to give tours to prospective tenants and never mentioned any issues that would affect security deposit reimbursement. It was the very last day of the 30 day period post our exit that he sent a lengthy letter full of BS detailing the deductions. It felt like a sucker punch, but seeing what an unsavory character he is, ultimately not a surprise. In 20 years of rentals across the US, we've never had an issue with getting our security deposit back. We should have sued and taken the pair to court, but the whole experience was sucking the joy from our first home purchase. In the end, they eventually rented the house only for the new tenants to be forced out because of catastrophic damage. Again, seeing how they managed the property, not a total surprise. In person he has zero people skills, so I'm stumped as to how he's made it this long in real estate. The rude manner in which he spoke to me in front of the potential tenants was surely a turnoff and another reason the house stays empty for months at a time despite being in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Allegheny County. Buyer beware!

Wow. These people…read morewere incredibly rude when I wouldn't immediately sign an exclusive Buyer's Agent agreement -- before so much as a phone conversation with the agent. Just as importantly, they hadn't done any work, other than sending an unsolicited list of random properties to my email. So essentially, they wanted me to be bound to pay them when I buy a property -- whether or not they did a lick of work. Yeah... no. I will resist the urge to name the realtor personally, but I found her a bit smug and insulting.

From the beginning of the project, MDM provided us with good ideas of how to accomplish our goals. MDM representatives had a thorough knowledge of what was needed. We were told from the beginning what to expect in the process. I was amazed at how our surveyor anticipated possible obstacles to our plan and ways to work around them. Ultimately, we had to appear before our township planning and commission for approval. I can't say enough about the value of MDM's assistance. They were worth every penny we invested in their services. I had no prior experience working with a surveying company. At times it was frustrating because during the summer they get super busy with outdoor work and aren't always available. But, what really counts is their knowledge and their willingness to share it. MDM did everything right in the assistance they provided us. We are 100% satisfied customers.

This is a review of real estate agent, Monice Ming Tong in particular. I bought my first house…read morethis past summer and highly recommend Monice. She did an outstanding job as my agent, and has several qualities that make her exceptional: * Monice is very KNOWLEDGEABLE Monice understands the home-buying process well and carefully explained the different steps to me. She gave me a folder with different papers to help me understand the whole process. Throughout the whole process, her emphasis was on educating me and making sure I understood everything. In addition, Monice is well-learned with regards to various home maintenance and inspection issues. As I looked at about 30 houses with her, Monice offered insights into various cracks, furnace, landscape, interior decorating, drainage issues. In fact, I first met Monice at a seminar entitled "The Best Way to Buy, Maintain and Sell A House." * Monice works to SERVE you As my agent, Monice explained options to me and made sure I made the best decision with regards to your preferences and circumstances. Even though I looked at close to 30 houses, Monice continued to be patient and understanding with my finding the best house. As she got to know my preferences better, she suggested various houses that she thought would suit me. Monice always seemed to have my bests interests in mind as we interacted with banks, other agents, and sellers. It is a great time to purchase a house as Mortgage Rates are very low. If you are looking to purchase a place in Pittsburgh or neighboring areas, I highly recommend Monice Ming Tong. This was my first time buying a house, and was quite nervous about the whole process. It is a huge decision--something that affects the next five to six years of your life at least, and probably one of the biggest financial decisions you will make. I'm thankful that Monice was my realtor and guide my through the process. She helped me find prospective homes, manage day-to-day activities, and offer suggestions for various things. I now own a house in South Squirrel Hill and am very happy with it. I also recommend the books, Home Buying for Dummies and Nolo's Essential Guide to Buying Your First Home.
