While they claim to have the "best" dorms in the US, the staff is very rude and they will damage…read morecharge you for stuff that was already there. The RA's and campus police don't do much to enforce the rules either. They also charge a lot of money and can't guarantee you a housing spot and won't refund the deposit if they don't give you housing because they over accept freshmen or others who live five minuets away who are living on campus instead of the people who live hours away. The laundry rooms have problems with the machines not working, not getting fixed, or people not being responsible and getting their laundry in a set time. This school only cares for their big four (Sports, teaching, nursing, business) as they don't care for their arts as much. Many departments are needing new professors and they aren't hiring them, instead they are adding/upgrading the signs around campus to bold signs that don't look all that good. The dining hall has really gross food and they taste like chemicals as well. The student workers at all dining locations seem to not g.a.s. The students tend to not g.a.s. about other students and during the week leading up to and the week of finals they still have tours and events that disrupt people in classes or studying. SVSU only cares about your money and not the student. The professors that I've had all care and try their best despite not getting paid the money they should.

Faculty assemble here from exquisite universities and doctoral programs! I chose classes based on their reputation or specify, rather than what was required, as a non-traditional student. I left with an arsenal of knowledge, research skills, fun, creative processing and more. TY, SVSU and my favorite departments.

Some professors are very under qualified, and has no idea what they are teaching. Overall vibe here is very depressing and dull, noting to do around Mount Pleasant, bunch of weed shops, cultist churches and unwelcoming townies, which makes you never want to leave your room. Extremely isolating environment. The faculty and students treat international students very horribly, and management does not take such concerns seriously.
