Ben from BD Crafters just finished a major deck repair, and I couldn't be happier with the results…read more The Trex on top was fine, but there were 3 visible beams that were either rotted or severely cracked. In order to replace the beams, it was necessary to remove all the Trex. Once removed, I was amazed at all the underlying shoddy construction done by a local construction company. Ben gave me two estimates, one to just replace the 3 bad beams and the other, which was close to being a total rebuild. It was an easy choice to go with the second option. The deck is a weird shape, and in order to use the existing Trex, all the new structure would have to be perfectly measured. The deck did turn out perfect. I was especially happy that Ben was very selective in picking out the pressure-treated wood at the local big box store. Some of that wood is exposed and the grain is just beautiful. I had originally planned on painting the exposed wood, but it looks so nice I will probably go with a transparent stain. Ben's workmanship was outstanding. The price for the work was reasonable and about what I would have expected. This is the first time I have used BD Crafters. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them to others.

Two guys showed up, one was pretty young. They went to the basement for maybe 15 minutes came back upstairs and said they had to go get the snake. They left and got it then returned promptly. They were in the basement for over an hour when two more guys showed up, one of which was again pretty young. Without my knowledge or permission there were four men walking through my house in and out of my basement into my living area. As a female at the house alone, this was very unprofessional of them to do and very uncomfortable for me. After zero communication and another hour of them being in the basement, they called me down to look at a camera attached to a scope, couldn't see anything but a chunk of pipe missing. I was confused, uncomfortable and blown away by the mess. Speechless. I then said "ok so we can talk about this once you're finished?" The owner replied, "yes" and stated that I needed my line replaced to the road. Another 20 minutes go by then two guys leave. The owner said he's going to make a call to get a quote for an excavator and walked outside. The two younger gentleman did attempt to wipe up my kitchen floor as they were leaving with an old dirty rag they had in the van. Saying they were sorry for the mess. They were nice young men. The last one goes outside and then they all drove away. I had no idea what work was done and what really needed to be done besides the comment that I needed to replace the sewer line to the road. Hours went by and I received a bill in my email for $550.00 for a jetting service. There was no communication whatsoever. This man does what he wants, takes off and then sends a bill to your email. I paid because I'm not a POS and felt obligated. This man took full advantage of me. Once they left, I had to deep clean my floors as there was raw sewage tracked everywhere. When I went downstairs to the basement, I instantly began to cry. My basement was covered in raw sewage water. I had to pay another company to clean the hazardous mess as it was literally going to make us sick (ended up getting sick from all of it). Please see the photographs. Does this man take advantage of hard working females? Shame on you and your company, Pratti Mechanical. I have dozens of other photos from my security cameras that are located in my basement. I hope it brings you joy to know that your unprofessionalism and lack of respect for my home cost me thousands of dollars and had me physically Ill. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL experience. Worst of the worst. Step one is to clean - and sand rough spots - on the exterior of our home. They removed fixtures and meticulously taped windows and electrical outlets and vents. They work tirelessly and are never seen standing around. Each evening they pack up and the lawn looks as though they had never been here. Despite periods of heavy rain they worked through it whenever possible. Ryan was our team leader and directed workflow and answered all our questions. He made necessary adjustments as needed and resolved problems as they were discovered. They seamlessly finessed and blended several areas where wood was damaged and the end result was perfect. He and Jake were here each day and both were simply excellent. Our house looks amazing. I have already referred them to local friends who have also hired them. Jim said that he had a reconditioned wood stove that was still under warranty and he could do a full install that would meet all requirements and sell us a mantle for the new stove. We were completely happy with his price, bought the stove, sight unseen, where going to buy a mantle from him. We built a new hearth, had the fireplace cleaned, scheduled his inspection visit and we gave him a 50% deposit on the spot. He scheduled one install day and then had to reschedule. We confirmed the new date and checked in to confirm it again as it got closer (because we are facing November now and had already had one date go bad). He seemed like a nice enough guy when he came for the inspection and we were really excited about the stove. Out of the blue we get a check for a full refund of the stove with no explanation whatsoever. We call/email and ask why and get a message that my partner is a 'details guy' and so Jim doesn't think we'd be a 'good fit.' WHAT?!? If by "details guy" he means - we pay for a service, on time, as requested, and so we like to know that we are going to receive the service as promised - then, yes, he is a 'details guy'. When did this become a bad thing? We didn't hold back payment, we didn't demand to see the stove in person before we bought it, he is the one who replied to our query on CL - and then he rejects our business with a thoroughly questionable excuse? Can't recommend anyone do business with this Great Bear Renewable Energy. Now we are facing November, no wood stove and no chance of getting a good price on one until next summer when the winter season is over. Thanks for nothing.
