Norton's is a beautiful, local flower shop. They work hard and produce beautiful things right out of their downtown warehouse! I ordered online and scheduled my pick-up for about a week away. It was all ready when I got there! I ordered a larger arrangement and then two smaller "mystery" arrangements, which they made sure matched the larger one! I appreciate that attention to detail, as I was going to use them all for the same event. They have a cute little gift store, too. Some childrens toys, bottles of wine, cards, kitchy hand towels, candles. It's an awesome one-stop-shop for gifts. Everyone loves receiving flowers! I did think the website could have been a little bit easier to navigate, but it wasn't too bad. They also offer delivery which I believe is free of charge! Excellent service for ordering flowers from afar. I needed to send some flowers to a funeral in Birmingham but I live in California. When I googled I found a lot of world-wide florists that seemed iffy, and some were very expensive. My relative in Birmingham told me to try Norton's. Their website made it very easy for me to select a nice arrangement in my price range from their extensive offerings, and choose the delivery time I wanted. They sent me an email confirmation of the purchase, and another one after it was delivered. My relative who attended the funeral told me the flowers were very beautiful and were in place before the visitation started. 7/31/20 update - Thanks, Norton's you made my best friend's Mom's day and delighted me, too! I called them because I was concerned about their COVID contactless delivery and how that may be logistically difficult at my best friend's elderly Mom's condo. The lady was helpful and kind during the phone conversation. My friend offered to have the delivery delivered to her condo and she would take the arrangement to her Mom's condo. Flawless same day delivery and I think it was around noon that I ordered, with an ~ 2:30 delivery time. I asked BF to please take photos for me, which I've uploaded. I noted that I had ordered the 7 sunflower arrangement and for the life of me, keep counting the blooms and there are only 5. Sunday, February 10th, I came across their site and ordered flowers for my mother in-law's birthday for Monday, February 11th. Given that I live in Los Angeles, California and she lives in Birmingham, Alabama; Norton's seemed like a great way to send flowers for her special day. I love the check out process and the flower options available because that made it really easy for me to place an order while we live miles apart. Today her flowers were delivered on time, which I really appreciate considering we placed the request a day prior to the day we needed the flowers delivered. I was however disappointed in the quality of the order. I ordered the Premium "Arrive in Style" arrangements from the sites Best Sellers list, yet once my mother in-law sent me a picture of the flowers, they looked nothing like the photos online. The arrangement my mother in-law received was lacking in white flowers, has bright pink roses not light pink roses, did not have the same vase as seen in the photos and was smaller than the dimensions listed on the Product Info. ___________________ Update: A couple hours after I placed the review I received a call from the owner Cameron. We spoke about the matter and he was very understanding of my disappointment. I truly appreciated the steps he took to reach out to me and I could tell that he truly cares about his business/customer satisfaction. I edited my initial review and added stars because although the arrangement was not what I was expecting, my mother in-law thought they were very beautiful. Think twice before ordering from Norton's. I don't live in AL but when my sister-in-law who lives in Gardendale had a death in her family, I googled "Gardendale AL florist" and Norton's was the first to pop up as "Gardendale's Largest Florist" (see pics). The website allowed me to put in a Gardendale address and choose a delivery date with no problem. The day the flowers were supposed to arrive, I got a call from Adrianne (?) telling me that Norton's doesn't deliver to Gardendale and if I want to pay a "wire fee", they will have another florist send something "similar" to my order in 2 days. I'm frustrated that a) my flowers won't make it to my sister-in-laws home the same day as the funeral like I had arranged and b) I have to now search for another florist who does indeed deliver to Gardendale. But what annoys me the most about this whole experience was Adrianne's inability to apologize for my inconvenience or even take an ounce of responsibility... when I politely asked why their website allowed me to make an order with a specific delivery date in Gardendale, the only response I received was, "well that I don't know". I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because at least I did receive a courtesy call... Norton's, learn how to advertise online, don't accept orders if you won't deliver them, and get some customer service training for your employees. read more

I received a bouquet of roses on Valentines which appeared to have had a "rough ride" to my home. I reached out to Norton's to express my unhappiness with having to rearrange the bouquet myself. The owner called me and was apologetic about my experience. He explained that a temporary driver had been hired to help with deliveries on the busy holiday, and had obviously not taken care to ensure the flowers were arranged correctly prior to leaving them on my doorstep. He then had another beautifully arranged bouquet delivered to my home within hours to make up for my dissatisfaction with the original delivery. I appreciated his taking the time to call me and ensure that I had my concern resolved in a very timely manner. read more

When I have a situation in which I need a gift for someone out of town, I always like to look for a business local to the recipient. It seems more personal to me. Sometimes that's a crapshoot. Norton's Florist was a come out 7! My wife was out of town, and because I want her to regret going out of town, I sent flowers to her room. I contacted Norton's with no other information than they are in Birmingham. I spoke with a wonderfully helpful young lady on the phone who expertly took care of everything! The older I get, the more I value that! The flowers were beautiful, and fresh! After 4 full days in a hotel, they still look beautiful and have opened up fully! I'd expect that at home, but as you probably know, hotels keep the air drier than a wooden leg. This is rough on fresh flowers! Valentine's Day 2017: I never received the flowers my boyfriend ordered for me as a surprise, which was supposed to be delivered on Valentine's Day. When I still had not mentioned anything about receiving flowers by 7pm yesterday, my boyfriend finally called me to ask if I had received any flowers from him. I called Norton's this morning to ask about the order. When they looked up the order, they realized they forgot to deliver the flowers (in addition to misspelling my name on the order). My boyfriend currently lives in Louisiana, so he was not able to deliver the flowers himself. Instead, he trusted Norton's to deliver them on his behalf. Norton's never offered to deliver the flowers today either when I spoke with them. Nevertheless, I decided to give 2 stars rather than 1 because they offered to give him a full refund and a credit for another order in the future. It still would've been nice to actually see the flowers he had initially picked out for me. read more

Valentine's Day 2017: Despite a guarantee to delivery by 4:30 p.m., the delivery never arrived, they never answered their phones, never returned two voicemails or two emails. On their voicemail, they say "You want quality, and we are prepared to go the extra mile for your satisfaction..." This was a complete failure, and I could't be more disappointed. My suggestion is that you completely avoid this florist if you have any concerns about on-time delivery, good customer service and complete satisfaction they will go the extra mile to take care of their customers.
