The library system has about 20 locations throughout the city, and this location in the Oakland neighborhood is the main location. According to the library's website, this library contains over 2.5 million items, including nonfiction books, fiction books, newspapers and magazines, government documents and patents, genealogical archives, maps, sheet music, vinyl records, music CDs, musical instruments, movie and TV DVDs, artwork, etcetera. This library's other resources include public computers, free Wi-fi, printers, photocopiers, scanners, fax machines, meeting rooms, resume and interview guidance, a RAD pass for free or discounted cultural events, etcetera. Since my previous review, I did obtain a library card. During a recent visit, a very friendly and helpful employee named Isaac helped me to log into two databases about grants and foundations. The computer room was large, had plenty of available desktop computers, and was quiet for me to do my research. I feel grateful that this Carnegie Library gives me free access to these databases. For my most recent visit, I attended a free day-long workshop about grant-writing. it was held in the lecture hall, which was a bit of a challenge for me to find, but an employee gave me directions. The workshop was very educational, and I greatly appreciated that it was free.

The facility is spacious with an inviting room for children, quiet areas for adults and excellent meeting rooms. The Library is clean, organized and welcoming. There is a full monthly schedule of activities for all, both during the day and in the evenings. In addition, the staff listens to the needs/wants of the public and responds by scheduling workshops requested. I have attended various workshops at the library including yoga, talks and a concert, just to name a few. I am very impressed with this library! Thank you Rostraver Library for serving the community in such a beautiful way!

This site is located next to the…read moremunicipal building and playground and offers all the conveniences you would expect to find inside of a modern library. . I have noticed lately that most libraries have reduced the amount of magazine subscriptions they carry. The children's library looks fun and inviting. There are regular events held here for all age groups. For instance, they have a reading program featuring therapy dogs. Library patrons of all ages are encouraged to attend but it is designed to attract young readers.

There are tons of books to read and movies to rent, and they have a nice section with computers for more learning. We recently started participating in STEAM Saturdays, and one of our favorite workshops was on airplane science. My son is now obsessed with learning how to make new models and seeing which ones fly the furthest. We also enjoyed the Christmas party, where the kids got to make gingerbread houses out of recycled milk cartons, graham crackers, icing and all the candy and other goodies. Santa was there, along with a hot chocolate bar. This library knows how to keep kids engaged and make learning and reading fun. I'm so glad we have such a wonderful local library.

When we entered the library, a security employee kindly greeted us. We walked around the entire library and saw items such as nonfiction books, fiction books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, and more for both adults and children. We also saw information desks, dozens of computers, and desks and chairs. Furthermore, the library's website says that visitors may use Wi-fi, photocopiers and printers (for a fee), scanners, fax machines, and meeting rooms. Overall, we liked this library. This library in Squirrel Hill is not as large as the main library in Oakland, but I think that it is a great place for people of various demographic groups to read, study, relax, or work.
