There is an Librarian who works there that is horrible with customer service, speaks down to…read morepatrons, uses friends to lie and say that the patron was rude, when she has no professionalism when I the patron asked a basic question of how and why I had been deleted not only from the computer but also the card, when in 2019 I had used my library card at the library, and of course 2020 was the pandemic, yet, I am told if you did not use your library card in three years your profile is deleted from the computer, and the card you filled out to join the library over 20 years ago is destroyed. Now you have to rejoin the Monessen Public Library, even though it was only a year during the pandemic that you did not use your library card.

It doesn't have a lot of parking and it's not in a neighborhood it's across from the steel mill which isn't your normal location. I give the place 5 Stars because it is really nice and it's a community service plus it's real close to the police station.

Welcome to Charleroi PA. The location of this library is right in the middle of the town and is…read morereally the only business that allows individuals to meet up at. The building was a post office at one point in its life, then was converted to a Library. Inside you can see the old architecture, and the beauty of this building really shows through the dust, mold, and trash. This building is in need of serious upkeep, and it's sad to see that no one is helping. What really had me give this library such a low rating, that in addition to the crumbling building, it also had two turtles living in a 2x2 tank and a set of birds in a small cage. This is not the place for animals, especially in such awful conditions!
