The setup had firmware that didn't work properly, and I ran into driver conflicts between the RAID firmware and other components, which caused instability and ongoing issues. When I tried to get answers, Anton was stuttering through explanations and giving me conflicting information that felt dishonest and misleading. On top of that, the pricing and quotes didn't match what I was later told. Overall, this was one of the worst sales and support experiences I've had. Do not deal with him seriously, avoid him if you can. I would recommend going to the Cambridge location instead if you're looking for better service.

After 3 weeks they called us back to let us know that THE COMPUTER COULD NOT BE FIXED and that due to it's age the would only give us a partial IN STORE CREDIT. We asked about the warranty we had purchased, and they told us that it was not their store policy to replace defective equipment. We told them we wanted the warranty cost replaced then, and were told they couldn't do that either. This is the most underhanded and dishonest company that my Wife and myself have ever dealt with, I don't know how they haven't been sued out of existence. BUYERS BEWARE OF FRAUDULANT PRACTICE.

The worst customer experience I have ever had…read more Having water damaged my laptop I brought it in too see if it could be fixed. My laptop was still working but would crash randomly. I was told it would cost around $20 to investigate and once they figured out the issue they would contact me and ask me how I wanted to proceed. About a week later I received a call from Computer Service Depot telling me the laptop was fixed and ready for pickup. I found out they went ahead and did $135 worth of work without ever calling me, but I actually didn't mind at all as long as the laptop was working. According to them, it just hadn't been given enough time to dry out. For the $135 they backed up my data reinstalled windows 10, and did an extensive list of diagnostic checks on the laptop. However, my laptop had a Linux partition which they did not back up, so I lost a significant portion of my data in this process. The worst part was that the laptop hardware had not been fixed at all (which was the only thing that was broken) and the laptop would still crash. I took my laptop in again, once more they couldn't find anything.

Over two years ago, I switched from an iPhone to a Google Pixel phone. I am so enamoured with the latter than I recently upgraded to the Google Pixel 2 XL. These days, I rarely step into an Apple store. The last time I did was to bring my Mac mini in for technical help. In general, my Apple products have rarely let me down. I stopped by this Apple store at Conestoga Mall to browse. It was my first time there and I was curious about the iPhone XS and XS Max models. They look stunning when you walk into the store. What I have always loved about Apple stores is that you can play with their products. These phones were sleek and felt good in my hand. The iPhone XS Max is a smidge smaller in width and height to my Google Pixel 2 XL phone. As far as costs, go, the former is crazy expensive if you are buying them outright. I loved spend time at this store looking at everything from the Apple watch to accessories from my laptop. It's minimalist and clean, as you'd expect from Apple. It's a nice store. (361)

When I moved to Woodstock I continued making the trip to Kitchener just to continue shopping with them, but in the end none of that earned me any loyalty or respect. On April 3, 2022 I drove to Kitchener to trade about a $100 worth of games in toward two used switch games they had listed as in-stock on their website at $59.99 each. When asking about the games in-store I was directed to their high-price game cabinet near the front door where they were each listed for much higher than advertised on the website. The employee called the store manager regarding the discrepancy and the message relayed to me was essentially tough luck, that's the price, and they wouldn't be honoring the advertised price. Other retail stores would have owned their mistake and honored their own advertised price, but instead of valuing my business their priority seemed to be to make a quick buck by marking up the games as much as possible. I will no longer be giving Microplay my business.

I dropped it off here and the guy who fixed it texted me later and explained what the issues were and also offered assistance with other miscellaneous things (normally other PC shops charge extra for this). Being a student in Waterloo without a car, picking it up wasn't exactly feasible in the snow. I asked him if he could drop it off and perhaps have a look at my SSD (which came AFTER I gave him the PC) At my place, he set up the SSD and left. Not long after, I let him know I was having trouble installing the OS on the SSD. He offered to stop by and take a look at it, and of course fixed it. (It turns out that the computer was only recognizing one of the drives) This was all for a flat rate of 80$~. Overall, this was the best experience I've had at a PC repair shop. Highly suggest going here especially with newer builds.
