Love the store, it was very warm and cozy as soon as you walk in. Lots of variety of shirts that were folded accordingly and lots of different designs to choose from. Staff was very kind and was very helpful. Shirts were a little much but the fabric being used was very soft and plush so it makes up for it. Love this store! We come to Knoxville just to see their latest selection of shirts. Stopped in today about bought 6 Norris Lake t-shirts. Nothing to Fancy is donating the proceeds from the sale of this shirt to the charity Wake the World Norris Lake. WTW bring kids, who would otherwise not have an opportunity, to Norris Lake for a day of fun! Man, I can love a totally awesome store that also cares about their community!! read more

This is a good place to see some unique shirts and souvenirs for Knoxville and Tennessee. Some are funny trash taking for Vols over other SEC teams. High schools or suburbs towns have some shirts. Many other items and vintage items with Tennessee theme. Smokey's Have a section with many shirts for the mountains. Only negative is that most are pricy. Good quality soft tees are nice. We bought a few and will stop in again. read more

It's a great spot if you are in need of Knoxville souvenirs, or East Tennessee or even just Tennessee, that does not pertain to football. While the t-shirts are a bit pricey, they are super soft and high quality. The best part is that they have XS women's fit shirts. Those are pretty hard to find elsewhere. If you are a magnet collector, they have some here but the options aren't that great. read more

This is one of the best shops not only in downtown, but in all of Knoxville. The selection of gifts is wide and varied, with a focus on local/regional culture. They have everything from t-shirts, pint glasses, wallets, posters, socks, koozies, etc. Seriously, this should be your stop if looking for a cool and unique gift. They also carry a nice range of hair products such as shampoo, pomade, and beard oil. The owner's are some of the coolest peeps I've met and remember you if you're a repeat visitor. So, I was asking about screen printing, and the sales guy was very rude. He said the only way to ask questions about screen printing was through email, and I said I didn't think that would work for me, so he just said, "that's fine, bye" and just hung up on me. I mean, I understand if you don't want to talk to someone over the phone (although, that is stupid as it can sometimes be more efficient than communicating through email), but honestly, being rude is never ok, especially if it's someone trying to support your business. I don't live in Knoxville, but if i did, Nothing Too Fancy would always be my first stop for local gifts (and some great tees for myself too.) I stopped in with my mother-in-law and we both immediately found things we liked-- and subsequently purchased! We were both impressed by the quality and softness of the shirts, as well as the variety of fun designs. They offer TN themed shirts (many designs feature the neighborhoods/areas of Knoxville and East TN) as well as the requisite University of Tennessee shirts... but even those weren't your standard Big Orange shirts. I found a great one for my sweetie, with Smokey on it wearing sunglasses reflecting the Knoxville skyline-- so cool! And, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the awesome service here. Justin was working on the day we came in and he was so welcoming and helpful. He answered all our questions and even made some good recommendations. Even when I had to return a shirt back by mail, Justin reached back out to me to ensure the transaction was processed properly. They might not be too fancy here, but they're certainly plenty great. read more

Christmas shopping feels like it gets a little easier here. They have high quality items, things that will last. I did slurge on something you wouldn't think of often, a mens metal comb with keychain hole. A chistmas present, it was heavy, made to last forever, practicle, local, and personalized. Also, giving to a fellow minimalist is tough noogies! He says he tossed every comb but that one, so it was a winner! This place made it easy. These folks have great quality soft tee's with fun graphics. I'm a graphic designer by trade and was at Dollywood the weekend before going to Knoxville. Most of the T-Shirts and stuff at Dollywood were not the greatest designs. We happened to pop into Nothing Too Fancy and I ended up finding my dream Dolly Tee. There were two styles and I was stuck on which one to buy...turns out one of them was designed by Dolly's folk at Imagination Library and a portion of the sale went to her foundation. SOLD! I would totally recommend a visit the next time you are in Knoxville. They apparently do custom t-shirts too. read more

Super soft tee's with cool designs, local prints and artwork, and other interesting objects like sippin seats, pint glasses, laptop/tablet/phone cases, and lightning fixtures. There's tons of character in the shop, with quirky stuff like a refurbished record console, a yellow tandem bike, and a vintage scale you can hop on (which if you've pigged out at Tomato Head or Cafe 4 around the corner, you might want to weigh in another time). I visited Nothing too Fancy in December. The reason I'm writing a review now is because I just realized that the only three shirts I absolutely love to wear came from this establishment. They have amazing designs. They have unique artwork. And they fit perfectly with comfortable material. Nothing too Fancy has more than shirts, as I bought a belt buckle and a pint glass, too. (It's a very dangerous store for your credit card after having a few drinks at The Stock and Barrel and Tupelo Honey Cafe.) And while I was thinking about what shirts I should purchase, I played some Royal Rumble, arcade style. I live in Wisconsin, but a store representing their home state and city this well would make me proud to live in Tennessee. read more
