They're all 3-10 yrs old and since this practice has multiple locations, maybe they're talking about locations in Hudson County back in the day. I've always gone to the Millburn office and have never had any of these problems. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait, but these doctors spend a lot of time with their patients and it's reasonable they might get backed up especially at the end of the day. They absolutely do NOT take walk-ins at the Millburn office, and since the reviews here about walk-ins are so old, maybe they've since discontinued that practice at the other locations. I've been seeing Dr Walsman for years, and he is top-notch. Very well-credentialed and experienced, but can explain complicated things in a very accessible way. He is also a very nice person and genuinely cares about his patients. I lived and worked in NYC for 15 years and went to a highly rated ophthalmologist and had specialty care a cataract surgery at New York Eye & Ear Infirmary. Dr Walsman outshines them all. He's operated on my eyes twice already (cataract, and cataract correction of the eye I had done on NYC). The difference was night and day. For both medical and surgical eye care, I cannot recommend Dr Walsman highly enough.

It is not done out of that office location and is done by a large optical group in Monmouth county somewhere. When you try to resolve a billing issue with them they refer you back to the office. Emails, faxes, phones get little response. Impossible to troubleshoot billing issues with them.

Not only it took more than 5 calls and more than a month to get the output of my visit, same as my referring ophthalmologist, she didn't even listen to what I was saying. The report says I had "vision changes in my right eye" which I never had! Both my eyes were seeing the same, which was "a distortion of the right side of what I was looking at". I gave them examples and accurate descriptions. She is like the surgeons we read that one went for his appendix and they operated on his kidney. Stay away! My review should have been written a long time ago, since Dr Farbowitz has rescued my family's sight, one to many times. Dr Farbowitz, helped my elderly mother at a moments notice, when she called me crying that she suddenly went blind. Dr. Farbowitz diagnosed my mother, put her at ease, and guided us on how my mom can partially restore her sight, which was Macula Degeneration. On Monday April 27th 2020, my son had a accident at work, which involved temporary blindness, and pain. I called the Dr's office, spoke to the receptionist, explained the situation, and the receptionist replied, " The Dr. wants you to come in now." The receptionist also told me that the Dr was on his way out, but he will wait until you come in. My son & I arrived at the Dr's office, (45 MINUTES LATER) he could see my son was in pain, in less then 5 minutes, Dr Farbowitz extracted pieces of wood, from my son's eye. Ya I said it, wood, go figure. The pain in my son's eye diminished immediately, as a result of the Dr's skill set. Dr. Farbowitz made sure my son had medication for the infection, which was caused by the wood. Dr. Farbowitz postponed his personal plans to treat my son, he did not tell me that, but I can read people. My experience with Dr Farbowitz, has always been professional, courteous, and simply outstanding. I THANK Dr Farbowitz, and his staff for helping my family. Because it was a first-time occurrence for me, I had basic questions and was trying to understand what was happening. Unfortunately, I felt dismissed during the visit. When I asked questions, the doctor appeared visibly irritated and, while looking at his computer screen rather than at me, said, "SH! Stop speaking. I will explain later." The tone felt rude and condescending, and I immediately felt embarrassed and afraid to ask anything else. He also kept speaking with his arms crossed. I understand that doctors are busy and may need time to explain findings, but patients who are in pain or worried deserve to be spoken to respectfully. I left the appointment feeling uncomfortable and unheard. At the end of the visit, the doctor did not say goodbye; he simply stopped speaking while looking at the screen, so I walked out unsure whether the visit was over. I hope this feedback is taken constructively. Clear communication and basic kindness make a significant difference, especially when a patient is anxious, in pain, and seeking help for a new medical concern.

(4.75 Stars) Horrible pun alert . . . most people buy their glasses "blindly." Between…read moreunnecessary lens enhancements, absurdly overpriced faux designer frames and other miscellaneous nonsense, this is an industry which hardly inspires confidence. Perhaps not as bad as buying household furniture or insurance, the wise are nonetheless advised to count their fingers after shaking hands. This office staff is very transparent regarding the "dirty little secrets" of their trade. Until the money is spent, few people know that glasses from reputable manufacturers are guaranteed for a year. Quality lens grinding labs also offer one free "rework" for their product. These assurances cost the dispensing optometrist nothing, yet most charge for their use. Not only does Dr. Arnold have the integrity to not gouge her customers, she carries attractive glasses in all price ranges, and will adjust any glasses obtained from her for a year, also free of charge. I'm happy to report that I experienced none of the negatives in my visits to Dr. Arnold's offices. The doctor's demeanor is calming, patient, positive, relaxed and professional. Further, her recommendation of fundus photography not only avoided the need for pupil dilation, it provided an interesting and interactive view of my retina. The optional process absolutely painless, and was covered by my health insurance. Dr. Arnold is respectful of her patients (never demeaning) and their time, and despite the fact that there were three other patients when I arrived (10 minutes early), nobody was kept waiting. The enthusiasm and positive outlook of the staff seemed to be contagious; patients were mingling as though they each had a cocktail in their hand! I live in the immediate neighborhood, and walked to her offices, so I wouldn't have direct knowledge of parking. I suspect that there is a parking lot behind the building, available parking on the residential side streets and a large (and always empty) retail parking lot a block away. The offices are clean, bright, well organized and welcoming. Vanessa, the office receptionist is always positive, friendly and helpful. She communicates very well, whether face-to-face or by phone. The unsung star of the office, however, is Tuli. Tuli doubles as both office manager and frame stylist; her knowledge of frames is encyclopedic. She has actually collected glasses frames as a hobby for years, and has over 260 pairs in her collection. When this knowledge is pressed into the service of Dr. Arnold's patients, Tuli can make very good recommendations-- and adjust those recommendations to patient preference-- as second nature. Even to this steadfast believer in "function over form," selecting both everyday and prescription sunglasses was a pleasure. Only a minor snafu in coordinating a pickup of both pairs of glasses in the same visit separates this experience from perfection. My suspicion is that this minor glitch might not have even been their doing. I am very pleased with both the services and products of Dr. Arnold and her staff, and recommend them highly.
