Dr. Carrasco is friendly enough, but my experience with her was disappointing. I eagerly showed up for my appointment hoping she could help me get my heath on track, yet she did not have my lab work available to reference for some reason(said her assistant didn't send it to her ?), which made the appointment completely worthless to me. So the rest of the appointment was taken up with chit chat and being told to read several books, such as The Wahls Protocol. I couldn't believe she thought suggesting books to me to read would suffice and be a sufficient exchange for the high fee I paid to consult with her. Definitely not what I was paying out of pocket for. I cancelled my follow-up phone consult with her, but her assistant messed that up as well, as she ended up phoning me anyway, which was very awkward. She really should have rescheduled my appointment since she was unprepared, and I should have left instead of wasting my time/health with someone so disorganized. read more

I'm 5 months pregnant and for the last 7 months have become a chronically ill person, something totally new to me. Nonstop coughing, day and night. To treat my Ulcerative Colitis through appropriate diet protocols of Integrative and Functional Medicine, I did some research and found references to Dr. Alex. Unfortunately, my patient experience with Dr. Alex was horrible. The payment policies are not clearly specified on the Nourish website, and I was surprised to see $200 charge of phone follow up to first visit (within 2 weeks) which is typically not seen with other doctors. Further, the Dr. Alex's advice was merely addition of more supplements, which seem to aggravate some of my symptoms. Also Dr Alex made me do unnecessary tests, which were too expensive on my pocket. Overall, I felt I ended up spending over $1500 unnecessarily across tests, and consultation. read more

Dr. Alex is by far the best doctor I have ever had. I was looking for a family doctor that was practicing integrated medicine and was lucky enough to find Dr. Alex. It has only 4 months since I first went and my quality of life has significantly increased. Everything she has suggested regarding stress reduction and being proactive about a few vitamin deficiencies has been spot on. I've had many doctors in the past that never shared blood test results and simply said "everything looks good". This was not the case with Dr. Alex. I'll start with the amazing news that almost 2 years after seeing Dr. Alex for the first time I am healthier than I could have imagined possible and 20 weeks pregnant with my first child...at the age of 39! I cannot say enough about Dr. Alex. I went to see Dr. Alex due to the fact that conventional doctors could not figure out what my issue was. I was not feeling 100%, her attention to detail and thorough questioning of my symptoms, lead her to have me tested for MTHFR. I had never heard of this mutation. The test determined that I have the C677T mutation and she put me on the "right" regime of Vitamin B, not all Vitamin B's are the same. Because of that, I had my brother who was also having similar symptoms get tested and he also has the mutation, then I had my son take the test and he has the mutation. This was a great discovery and no regular practitioner would ever even look into this. If you are proactive and treat a mutation a lot of the things that could occur from it could be prevented. I also was having thyroid issues and was advised by my endocrinologist that I had Hashimoto disease and a super hyper thyroid, I was not getting any better as a matter of fact feeling worse than ever. Dr. Alex has been very understanding and caring and wanting to help. She had lab work ordered that my endocrinologist never did and confirmed that I did not have Hashimoto disease. Dr. Alex is well rounded in that she wants to ensure that she evaluates your "total" health. She discussed nutrition, exercise, meditation and all different modalities that a conventional doctor will not even address. Dr. Alex has been a wonderful and supportive doctor. I work in medical sales and have been calling on doctors as part of my job for 20 years. I was surprised when I got diagnosed with an autoimmune condition as that does not run prevalently in my family and was not comfortable taking the immunosuppressive medications or with the explanation "that I would always have this and I could only treat the symptoms". I have been dealing with terrible dermatitis for 27 years now. I have seen dermatologist after dermatologist from state to state and each and everyone has given me steroid cream and wished me luck.
