I came to Dr. Kolte to get some help with my nutritional health. I've never met a doctor that even spends more than 5-10 minutes with me, Dr. Kolte once spent almost an hour with me, hearing about my situation, goals and talking about the changes that I need to make. I like the office staff and medical assistant they really are professional and get things ready for the doctor.They seem to all work well together. I have been vegan 5 years before coming here. I have been in healthcare almost my entire life. When I moved to Austin I engaged with an Internist and was fairly satisfied until realizing she was not looking at my 'whole self'. Again, I have had an intimate professional healthcare background and experienced many healthcare providers in my life but there are unfortunately too few who really care about their patients, listen and provide interest, guidance and explanation regarding why healthcare advice is being given. Dr. Kolte is one in a million. She challenges me to be what I have looked for to tackle my few health issues and her nutritional guidance is amazing. I cannot say enough about Dr Kolte. I had some mediocre doctors caring for me before I came in to see her and she is far, far superior to my other doctors. Very compassionate, great knowledge, great staff, I never had to wait long, painless pap smear, good alternative medicine suggestions, quick communication after tests, physical, or phone calls. My husband and I have moved 19 times in his career so we have had many doctors through the years. Never have we experienced any doctor that comes even close to the service Dr. Kolte provides. Austin is so lucky to have her. She explained so thoroughly the results of my lab tests and what I needed to eat and do to improve them. She uses a white board to explain exactly what is going on in your body that causes you discomfort or concern. Her lifestyle class she provides was amazing. She shows you by using a large diagram of the body organs exactly what fats,sugar, animal products and processed food do to your organs and arteries vs. eating a whole foods plant based diet. In addition to being genuine and caring, she is brilliant. I have MS and feel so relieved to have a doctor I trust and is so knowledgeable. So glad I found Dr. Kolte, I have been very happy at this practice. The only negative I have experienced is a lengthy wait (on a few occasions, not every time) but once I am able to see the doctor she never rushes the appointment, and I feel like the care provided is very personalized and thorough. She puts a lot of emphasis on wellness (mainly through diet and exercise) which I appreciate (even if I won't go strait up vegan like she recommends to everybody.) That said, she's not so alternative that she avoids proper medical treatment. I had a minor health scare recently that caused a trip to the emergency room and a referral to a specialist, I cannot give Dr. Kolte enough credit for how well she coordinated care between different hospitals and doctors. She received every test result and spoke with my specialist before a follow-up appointment without any prompting. I'm understand it my job to be my own advocate, but Dr. Kolte was one step ahead the whole time. I also see Dr. Kolte for my annual pelvic exam/Pap smear, and that's been a breeze (professional, painless) in case that's a concern. read more
