This review is long overdue because I've been going to Dr. Long Pham since 2010 when he was associated with a dental clinic in Alexandria. Dr. Long is very patient, respectful, and very skillful at what he does. First thing I've noticed at Dr. Long's office is how friendly, attentive, and helpful the office manager and the staff are. I have had nothing but excellent experiences from treatments/services by Dr. Long and his staff over the years. The first non-routine service Dr. Long performed on me was a wisdom tooth extraction. I had barely felt a bit of a pinch two or three times when he administered the anesthetic, waited for the anesthetic to take effect, and then my wisdom tooth was extracted in minutes. I felt little pain after the anesthetic had worn off so I didn't even take any pain-killers. Since then, I had had fillings, bridge work and implant done by Dr. Long and all turned out great. Dr. Long is very pleasant, patient, respectful, and an expert in his profession. He has some of the best hygienists I've come across. During my most recent appointment, the hygienist took time to give me a good cleaning. In the process, she told me what she was going to do next and frequently asked me to raise my hand if she touched on something sensitive. She was very thorough and found something I hadn't noticed, i.e., swollen gum behind one of my lower front teeth. She brought it to Dr Long's attention for further examination. After she had completed the cleaning, she showed me the before and after images of my teeth and the swollen gum. I was very happy to see that all the nasty tea and coffee stains had been removed, just incredible work. I used to dread going to my dental appointments but now, not anymore! read more

My husband and I changed dentists when we went onto a new dental plan, and we looked for a provider close to home. Both of us have just had our first visits to NOVA Dental and are very pleased! I first called to make appointments and spoke with Fernando, who was very helpful in explaining our insurance coverage. When I came for my appointment, I was impressed with the decor and cleanliness of the office. The hygienist Yen Ly was very informative and reassuring, telling me that they always want their patients to be comfortable and happy. She had a wonderfully gentle touch as she cleaned my teeth and took X-rays. Dr. Dinh examined my teeth and found a problem with an old crown. She explained how it would need to be treated and was careful to refer me to a specialist who also takes our insurance. My husband has more work to be done on his teeth, and the office set up a treatment plan for him with the items organized by priority, and with our expected payment for each visit. We will certainly recommend this office to friends and family. I recently had a severe tooth ache and called NOVA Dental and they worked me into their schedule that same day. Upon arriving I was greeted warmly by Pat, the office manager, and received friendly and professional care from Dr. Long Phan and his assistant Odilia. Since I could not identify the exact tooth causing the pain and the xrays taken didn't really show them anything specific for them to go on, they performed a deep clean procedure on my gums applying medication to help eliminate the pain. After a few days, the medication reduced the inflammation and I was able to ID the problem tooth, I returned to the office, where Dr. Long performed a root canal through my existing crown (saving me considerable dollars). From the xrays they spotted a crack in another tooth that required a crown, so I returned for them to complete that work for me. I am very happy with the work performed and the friends that I have made and would recommend the NOVA Dental Practice to anyone needing dental care. They have very friendly, caring professional people that strive to ensure that you are comfortable with what they are doing and are willing to take the time to answer your questions. This is the first time I have written a yelp review for anyone but it is deserving. I had nothing but great experiences while going to see Dr. Long Pham at 462 Herndon Parkway. Herndon, VA 20170 for several years now. I never found a dentist I truly liked until I came to Dr. Pham's office, even though it's out of the way for me to drive there, I'd rather go to Dr. Pham's office than find a Dentist closer to my house. He always makes sure I am not in pain or discomfort, and explains everything in detail. He has done root canals and crown, fixed the broken teeth, and lately implant for my teeth. I trust his work and his advice completely, and all of his work has been outstanding. Moreover, the office itself is very new and state of the art. His staffs are top notch and his hygienist is great and is very thorough and explained all the procedures. She takes the time to explain everything. You get to watch TV while having your teeth worked on as well. After seeing many different Dentists I can say that Dr. Long Pham and his team are the best I have seen and I will continue to go there and would highly recommend them to anyone. Worse dentistry I have ever gone to. All good reviews I read belong to the previous dentist Dr. Trung Ho, who was an extremely great dentist based on all his reviews. I just found out that he sold his practice a year ago. Therefore, all reviews do not belong to dr Long, who by the way have very unprofessional employees working there. I had a very tiny stain and in order to save me money, the hygienist told me that they can claim it to my insurance as a cavity to save me my copay. I think this is not legal. I called multiple times to get my file transfer to another dentistry but once they found out I was leaving, they placed me on hold for over 15 minutes. The guy Fernando, very unprofessional. I told him I would speak to the doctor and he yelled at me claiming that he does not care because they are friends. Please do yourself a favor and get a second opinion. What they claim to be cavities are simply stains. And according to them everyone should get veneers and watch out if you tell them you cannot afford them, they treat you differently. read more

My family and I have been going to Nova Dental Practice for years. The Dr's and staff are always welcoming and truly knowledgeable of their craft. The atmosphere is family oriented and we love catching up on life at every visit. I'm honestly never concerned about coming here (you know, that possibility of getting a filling or other work done) I know if by some chance I didn't floss or brush properly over the last 6 months, the Dr is going to take care of me. Also, if you have an emergency, they are quick to get you in. We also discuss other healthy lifestyles, things such as dieting/exercise to ways to sleep better. All around health is important along with healthy teeth. Currently I wear a mouth guard to help with my excessive grinding while I sleep (thank you ). Also, with the recommendations on how to get a better nights sleep, I'm feeling much better every morning and I'm dreaming again! I've been going to Nova Dental Practice for a few years now. The office is modern and clean looking, the people are nice and welcoming. They have always been prompt with seeing my at my scheduled appointment time which is a big plus as I usually go during work. The routine maintenance is always a good experience. The hygienist is careful yet thorough when cleaning my teeth. They always make it a priority to make sure I know what I need to work on more or how I can improve my the health of my teeth. When I need work done other than cleaning they do a good job making sure you're okay through the whole process. I never get that feeling that they are hacking at my teeth/gums like I've had with previous dental offices. I've also gotten invisalign done here and that was a great experience. I never had braces as a kid so my teeth weren't in the best shape but the dentists here are very knowledgeable and were able to get me through the process without any hitches. read more

If I could give 0 star I would have. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone!!! My mother didn't have an insuarance and I was given a price for a minor cosmetic dental work, it took the doctor 5 min to do the dental work. It shocked me when I was presented the bill which was 5 times more than it was quoted, my mother was in tears. Fernando Joa, the receptionist lied to me and it was very degrading the way he treated us and would not honored the quote he gave and he was very rude and unprofessional. Knowing that several members of my family are patients at Nova dental practice he would not honor his quote and all of us are going to move our accounts to another dental practice!!!! I have been going to NOVA Dental Practice since 2017. I stumbled upon this office via ZocDoc. My prior dentist was subpar in comparison to this office. Dr. Nicole Rivera-Vargas has been my dentist for the last 3 years. She is top-notch. I value her expertise and patience. She listens to my needs and actually takes the time to treat my dental concerns. The entire office, from the receptionists, my hygienist and Dr. Rivera, are exemplars of professionalism. I trust the care and advise I received from Dr. Rivera and my hygienist. The receptionists are welcoming and address me by name. They genuinely care about aspects of my life and wellbeing. Just brought my 2 year old son in for his first dentist appointment and I was impressed from start to finish. I talked to the same receptionist by phone several times before coming in and she was helpful and personable. I don't want to misspell her name, Rianna maybe? Once we got to the office, Fernando explained to us what to expect with a two year old's first visit. Dr Pham and the female hygienist both talked to us about their kids and were successful at getting my son to cooperate. The receptionist came to the chair and handed my son a sticker and a toy car to distract him. Upon leaving the office, my son was given a goody bag with a few tooth care items. Where do I start? When I first walked in, the Office Manager and receptionist greeted me with a smile and we started talking. They made me feel at home. This was my first visit but not the last visit. The Dental Hygienist, was very pleasant and nice. She asked me several times during my cleaning if I was OK and she explained everything throughout the process. Then Dr. Long Pham came in and he was just as nice. He explained what was going on with my teeth and gave me great advice for keep my teeth healthy. I really appreciate going to a dental office where the staff is very professional and nice. I just turned 20 and have been struggling to find a good dentist in my area. I am so glad I came across Dr. Long and his office! Today was my first visit with them and I loved everything about it. They are only about 8 minutes from where I live and it is by far the best dental experience I have received. The office is really easy to find and parking is really easy. The receptionist PAT is so welcoming and kind, and so is Dr. Long and his assistant. They make sure to answer any and all questions you may have, while providing you with good information. My family just started going to NOVA Dental Practice a few months ago. I must say this is one of the nicest places I have been to. Each time I come in with my wild kids, I am greeted with a huge smile and a greeting. While I am waiting for my kids to be done, they are happy to chat back and forth with me about anything - their kids, my kids, life before kids :-). Dr. Long Pham keeps me informed if anything major comes up during the visits which reassures my kids and I that everything will be okay and that he can take care of it. I was so impressed by the staff and environment here! From the moment I walked in Until the moment I left, the staff were incredibly warm and friendly and saw to my every need. I was very impressed with how thorough and detailed they were with my exam. My best friend recommended Dr. Rivera at this practice. Even though she left the practice and I moved to Southern Virginia, I still drive all the way to get all my dental cleaning and filling done here. Dr. Long always takes the time and care explaining everything. Love the hygienist, she is always gentle. Pat and Nancy are always welcoming and friendly. Also, they are very accommodating. I have been experiencing some pain in the back of my tooth. I called and they fit me in the next day to see Dr. Murphy. So glad I came across this office. Before today I haven't been to the dentist in years!!The minute I walked into the office I felt welcomed. I was offered snacks, coffee and was able to watch Spider-Man while i waited. I suddenly forgot I was at a dental office!
