I had posted a review last year about my experience here and it was deleted! After the x-rays they wanted to do a crown on one of my back teeth. When I showed the x-rays to another dentist, was told that a medium sized filler will do it, for a fraction of the cost. Also, BEWARE that they call "cavity" any stain on your teeth and you will see a huge list of cavities on the quote they give you. Again, the other dentist showed me in details on my x-rays what is cavity and what's not. I had 2 cavities and not 8 as they had told me here. My crown (front tooth) came off when flossing Wednesday night. Being new to the area, I have not established a dental provider. I spent the following hours online researching area dentists that, a) Had a positive reputation in both general dentistry as well as cosmetic b) was in my insurance network and c) was in close proximity to either home or work I phoned phoned multiple offices the following morning, but had trouble finding a place that met all of the above criteria. Finally, I called Reston Family & Cosmeitc Dentistry at 8am and, despite my not being an established patient and their obvious popularity, was worked into a slot for later that morning. I was greeted by the same knowledgeable and pleasant staff that I had spoken with over the phone. Before I knew it, she had already pulled all of my historical treatment data and knew when I last had a cleaning and what my insurance would cover. I was blown away. Our insurance is known to be difficult (Tricare Dental Program/Metlife). The doctor and assistant who treated me were pleasant and efficient. They took all necessary precautions to try and pinpoint the source of my crown coming off and recommended future treatment to prevent further issues with this crown. Best of all, I left the office that morning able to smile again! I was shocked to have had this positive outcome from what started as a nightmare. I have been to a LOT of dentist over the years, for many different problems, and Dr. Neshat is absolutely the best dentist I have ever been to. I feel very fortunate to have found her. When I first saw all the rave reviews here I was skeptical, but they are all true. The entire staff is very friendly but also very professional. The office looks brand new (it's actually 6 years old) and is spotlessly clean and modern, it looks like it was designed by a decorator. Everything put together creates a subtly relaxed atmosphere that I've never seen at a dentist office. When I arrived for my first visit, Dr. Neshat greeted me herself and took me to the hygienist (Stacy, who was great). Afterwards she met with me in a separate room and patiently went over my various options (I had a difficult situation thanks to my neglecting an uncompleted root canal for over a year plus many other issues). To my amazement she did not try to pressure me to choose the most expensive option (as most of my past dentists would have), instead she suggested a less expensive treatment that would at least buy me a few years. At my next appointment to start the procedure, she went over in detail what she planned to do and what issues she may encounter (keep in mind I had an unusual situation). Throughout the procedure she explained what she was doing and how it was going. I could tell from her steady and confident hands that she has a lot of experience and totally knows what she's doing. In the end, I've never felt so contented after spending 1.5 hours in a dentist chair! BTW, when I first saw the TV's mounted on each chair I thought it was a bit much but it turned out to be a great feature, it really kept me occupied watching CNN rather than staring at the ceiling. I haven't gotten the new crown installed yet, but I'm posting this review now rather than waiting because it's already obvious to me that Dr. Neshat is the best! The only catch is she's very busy so it can be difficult to find an open time for appointments, but she is totally worth the wait. I have always put off getting cleanings, but visiting Dr. Neshat's office is such a pleasure I will do them regularly from now on, a nice bonus. read more

My husband and I were recently looking to transfer our family's orthodontic treatments and had done a lot of research on dentists in the Northern Virginia area. We decided to go with Dr. Neshat's practice after meeting her at a parent education meeting at my daughter's school. I was looking for a new dentist and I found Dr. Neshat on Yelp. The reviews were great, so I thought I'd book an appointment to check out the practice. After checking in did I get a surprise! I think I had to wait all of (2) minutes before the hygienist Katy called me in. Honestly this is the shortest wait I have ever had at a dentist's office. Katy by the way was great she was through yet gentle. I did not suffer at all!! When Katy finished with my Xray's and cleaning she told me Dr. Neshat would be right in to talk with me. I thought to myself "Yeah right like that's gonna happen." Surprise again!! Dr. Neshat appeared in just a couple of minutes! She looked over the x-rays gave me her evaluation and when doing so explained everything clearly, so all my questions were answered. Before I left, I had my treatment plan with costs. Ok so let me give you some history. I typically HATE DENTISTS because of all the pain and issues they have caused me in the past. Now let me tell you about my experience with Dr. Monica Neshat who is truly amazing! I have been with her office since I was referred to her by my friend, about 3 years now. You walk into this modern day, very contemporary dental office, with nice scents, a LCD on the wall, a kids area. coffee and cappucino machine, bottled water and truly courteous staff. The staff is another reason I leave medical practices but Monica hired the right people. Then, another miraculous thing happens, you are actually seen within minutes of your actual appointment time! Who does that?? they do and I am so glad, they understand that everyone has busy schedules and people tend to do these things before work or during their lunch breaks like me and only have 1 hour to get there, do the appointment and get back to work. Monica is a very gentle dentist and full of personality, very happy to have found her. Did I mention that her dental chairs have a massage capability and that she has a small LCD TV built into her chair as well so that whenever her or her staff use that big bright light to look in your mouth while laying down, she has a LCD TV hooked into that light next to it, so you can watch TV and forget about what they are doing and they continue to work. Found this place on Yelp. First couple visits went well. Then I was suggested to put a crown on a tooth that never bothered me. I said fine. Right after crown was done this tooth started be sensitive to hot and cold. I couldn't bite with it. I was told that it will go away in two weeks. It didn't. When I came back to check what is going on I was told that I should do a root canal.. They never took a responsibility. If only all doctor office experiences could be this great. Let's start by saying that there is covered parking, free of charge. Then, the office is located on the ground floor of a beautiful building right by the main entrance. The glass door is propped open, so it's an effortless entrance. Once you enter, the surroundings are comfortable, modern and serene. There is even a little area set up for children with books, toys and a flat screen tv. The ladies at the front desk are kind, cheerful and treat you like they've known you for years. Dr. Neshat is lovely. She's native to the area, and she demonstrates a genuine concern for her patients -- excellent bedside manner. The hygienists are top notch. Friendly and precise. A great deal of care has been given to maintaining a hygienic, sterile environment. All the machines and equipment are brand-new, and there is even a tv suspended from the ceiling with satellite channels that you can watch during your cleaning, because it is tilted over your face at a close, comfortable distance. You also have the option of turning on the chair massager! On and on and on. It all makes for a spa-like experience, and I look forward to my next appointment in 6 months. Where do I start? I have only had one appointment so far and my partner as had two. This place exists in movies. In dreams. In your heart. Don't be scared. But please don't be surprised if you find this gem to be the best dental practice on the face of this earth. It's the people that made the difference here - the front desk staff - Cheryl and another lady - and my hygienist, Amy. I went here solely on yelp reviews, after the last dental practice my partner and I were attending on and off left us beyond frustrated for the last time. The day of my appointment everything you could have imagined went wrong. I drove around for one hour and could not find the place. I was out of gas and had to fill up. I was late to my appointment. My insurance card was not the updated version on file. I had zilch sleep because of my newborn baby. I was incredibly stressed. I felt like melting through the floor when I arrived but the front desk staff and my hygienist Amy was so accommodating, so cordial, so nice, so friendly, and so professional that I thought I was dreaming. They gave me the time I needed to get myself together and after everything was ok, I had my time in 'the chair.' I won't even mention the live TV connected to my comfy chair or even the cleanliness of this high tech modern as can-get office - but I will mention the fabulous people that made my dental experience the best one I have ever had in my whole life. Yes - it's the people here that made the difference for me. The front desk staff - receptionists, whatever they are - are the best in the business. If I ever open up a medical practice, I would hire them. If I owned this facility, I would do everything I could to keep them. These ladies are experts at medical billing and highly knowledgably with insurances plans. They are professional in their dialect, efficient in office management, and accurate with billing. They won't bill you for something you never got. Want a price quota for a recommended treatment plan? They will print it out with a smile. I was surprised my partner came home with one and the awesome lady, Cheryl, even asked about me and said it was for me, since I requested it when I spoke to her on the phone one week ago. That is just how organized they are. These ladies are a breath of fresh air! But beyond that, they exemplify the best customer service for a medical office I have ever seen around here. They will explain every bill in detail with incredible knowledge and familiarity that not only comes with experience, but when you really are trying to do the best job you can. They are extremely accommodating and will explain anything to you until you understand. Questions are welcome. They never make you feel stupid. One called my partner on the phone as 'my friend' when he called in to ask something. Finally I found an efficient office staff. WOW. My hygienist, Amy, was as PRO as you can get. She was my superstar. I was so scared in the dentist chair but she made all that go away. She took an active role in my entire experience. She explained everything to me she was dong. She showed me a piece of tartar. She checked my tongue for cancer. She checked my teeth and despite my last dentist's claim that I needed a deep cleaning and two fillings, she said my teeth were fine. She was beyond professional and you could tell she prided herself on a job well done. But beyond that, she was just so nice and chatted with me like I was her long lost friend, even though I was super late for my appointment. She made me feel so welcome. She asked about my newborn baby and empathized with me on getting lost. My husband's experience was also great. He had a deep cleaning and said for once, it didn't hurt. He said the chair he sat in also massaged his back. But more then anything, like me, he said the hygienist - whose name he doesn't remember haha guys! - was extremely professional and knowledgeable. She explained everything she did and talked him through the whole thing. He said really liked the whole experience and its way better then our last provider. Seriously, you don't know what you are missing unless you try this place. I am still shocked this place is in network with my insurance, too. Yes, in-network!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh! The dentist. When she walked in, I didn't even know she was the dentist until she introduced herself. She worked on me for a second. I spent like maybe a whole minute with her. I was late so maybe that's why. She was ok. Nothing to write home about . . . UPDATE: The dentist is fantastic. First impressions are not final impressions nor lasting ones. I have been a happy and satisfied patient of Dr. Neshat since 2009! Not only is she my regular dental provider, but I also got my Invisalign through her as well. Her entire office operates under the best attitude I've ever seen in any medical office. From the receptionist to the hygienist, every member of staff is friendly, helpful, and cheery. I've not had extensive work done with Dr. Neshat, just my uneventful check-ups and Invisalign. There is honestly not enough praise I can give that can give proper justice to how incredible of a dental practice Dr. Neshat and her staff provide for their patients. I started seeing Dr. Neshat about 2 years ago after some dental work I received from another dentist started to prematurely fail. Dr. Neshat took the time to research the reasons why the work I received at the other dentist was faulty to ensure she didn't replicate any of the same mistakes. Because I was apprehensive about re-paying for work I already had done, Dr. Neshat constantly made herself readily available to explain everything that needed to be done in detail that was easy to understand and helped put my mind at ease. Since then, I have had several procedures done primarily by Dr. Neshat (one by Dr. Jang) and have not had a single issue with any of the work. Dr. Neshat is a perfectionist and works to ensure her patients receive as close to perfect as possible. She even sent one of my crowns back to the lab 2 times because it was not an "perfect" fit. Each time she asked me if I was 100% ok with the fit and if I even hesitated for a second, it went back to the lab with no questions asked. Dr. Neshat's very real care and concern for her patients is reflected by every staff member at the practice from Dr. Jang (the other primary dentist), to all the dental hygienists, and the entire administrative staff. Every interaction I've had with any member of their team has been professional, friendly, and extremely trustworthy. When you leave Dr. Neshat's office you leave with the confidence knowing that you received the best possible care. In addition to the staff, the actual office is clean, modern, and welcoming. All of the dental stations have reclining chairs with built in massagers. Each station also has its own flat screen television that is hung on a mount that can be positioned directly over your head so you can watch TV while you're getting your dental work done. Once your work is complete, you're walked to the front desk by a hygienist and are explained any charges in great detail. And after all that, there is a small refrigerator by the front door full of free bottled water to take with you as you leave. If a dental experience could ever be deemed as "awesome," it would be the experience you get at Reston Family & Cosmetic Dentistry. I went to Dr Neshat for a second opinion after my old dentist told me I needed a crown but couldn't really justify why. She was very thorough in examining the tooth in question and explaining to me her opinion. She is now my regular dentist and I will never trust anyone else with my teeth. Dr Neshat gave me a the BEST crown I have ever had. It is a replacement crown and fits so much better than the previous crown. The minute she put it in there was instant relief. It was superior work for sure. She has hygienists that really seem competent and the front staff is wonderful. ...The dental work was very well done, but, I had a billing nightmare. They had quoted me 1030 for a crown with 50% off with my insurance. Because of our upgrade of insurance I said, lets do 2 of them! I went in separately for each crown and paid half of the bill, around 500 for the portion of the work. But when I had received both crowns and went to cash out, suddenly the bill was almost $800 dollars. [it should have been around 500] Needless to say, I was not happy! I had another appointment that day, and the office was full of people. But, I found the office staff to be unfriendly and unprofessional. Gosh, wouldn't you think they would bother to make a simple call to the insurance and get the right price, especially when I was willing to double the work. I have never had this experience with other dentists. Its always exactly the price they quote...not 30% more!! read more

I've never been a fan of going to the dentist (probably due to genetically being highly cavity prone), but this office - and particularly Dr. Neshat - have made it much easier to go! Everyone there - front desk staff, hygienists, and the dentists - are friendly and professional but also completely down to earth. I never have a bad experience when visiting Reston Family & Cosmetic Dentistry. The staff is very professional, knowledgeable and friendly and they give you recommendations and advice without sounding condescending. Both Dr. Neshat and Dr. Jang are great dentists. On top of that, there are TVs which you can watch while getting your cleaning as well as massage chairs to make the experience even better. We have been going for years and can't imagine ever going anywhere else. Appointment scheduling is a breeze and they are even good with reminder emails and texts a couple weeks out. I had a 'not perfect' experience during my first visit. I didn't see Dr. Neshat - but another dentist in the practice. By the end of the day I received a call from Dr. Neshat to inquire about my experience. I was impressed that she took the time to call and really seemed to want to understand more about my experience. I'll give them another shot! read more

The office is pristine. I barely had to wait to be seen, and while I waited I sat in a comfy chair, watched HGTV, and checked my emails with the free wi-fi. The receptionist was very friendly and explained a specific issue about my insurance and flouride treatments. The hygienist was superb. She was professional and cognizant of my sensitive areas, and I felt great once she was done. She took the extra time to work out paper work for a night guard, which was unplanned. She got me the necessary insurance information, prices, and forms. I had a second step to my appointment because I wanted a night guard. This part of the appointment was less than satisfactory, and I conveyed my feedback to the front desk when I left. Within a half hour, Dr. Neshat called me on her day off, while her children were napping, to personally apologize that I was not completely satisfied. I have NEVER received such personalized care from anyone in the medical profession. I was FLOORED. Started going here a couple years ago and this place has been great. There are 2 doctors in the office and both are really good.
