The girl at the counter wasn't very friendly... I've definitely had better service. The room, however, was great... Nice, modern with a small couch. I had a king size bed and it was so comfortable!!! I don't know if it matters, but there were like... 5 pillows there and I found THE perfect pillow among them, not too hard, not too soft. I had an excellent night sleep. I heard a train whistle once, but it didn't bother me during the night. I hope I'll have a chance in the future to stay here again.

Loved how we got the hot tub to ourselves which was wonderful! The beds were comfy and had all the comforts we needed like TV fridge and Keurig. It was pretty quiet in the hotel. But I can't say we were at all. Lol. The breakfast is pretty superb. Freshly made waffle station, cereals, toast and English muffins, yogurt, muffins, assorted juices, apples, oranges with pork sausage, hashbrowns with hard boiled eggs. I like the French vanilla coffee machine. We both indulged in that for our late night together. Pretty nice hotel in edmonton. We were visiting the North area of Edmonton so I called Holiday Inn's number and booked over the phone. The agent had a hard time locating the right HI, and later indicated it was because she was looking in the US. We had 2 kids, 2 adults, so we were looking for a suit. They didn't have one so we booked 2 king rooms, side by side. They could not guarantee but would do the best. They were really trying to upsell me to join the IHI rewards and hence, mistakes were made. When we got the confirmation reminder, I noticed that we were at the downtown location . I immediately called them and spoke to several people. We ended up having to cancel the original booking, rebooking to the correct location, and getting the suit, but we're being penalized a night stay for both rooms for cancelling. Note: I have a pending case to have those reversed. The hotel is in a weird area. They are beside a gym that you can access. There is a few stores (Wok Box, Fresno, and Liquor Store) in the parking lot. The place has a pool and a buffet! The hotel is ok. They have a lot of friendly staff, and that was the best part! We really appreciate the kindness and attention to service! The suite is fine but the 2nd rooms door would not close properly. Anytime someone would need to use the washroom, the door would squeak and wake the kids. The pool was dirty the first day. The foam and dirt in the hot tub was exceptionally gross. However, the 3rd day, the pool had been freshly cleaned and much better. The buffet is average. Eggs, omelettes, baked goods, cereal bar, oatmeal bar, toast bar, meats, and a pancake maker. Play yogurts, fruits, and drinks. Our first night, security banged on the door next to ours to remove a hotel guest. It was loud and slightly concerning.

The first room was clean and comfortable but then things got noisy. unbeknownst to us, there was a dance competition going on and the floor we were currently on housed most of them! politely asked at the front desk and they were very accommodating. With smiles on their faces and in professional and friendly manner, they found us a room on the top floor at the end of a hallway where it was nice an quiet. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. Bed was comfy and pillows were great. Shower had great water pressure, lots of hot water and I greatly enjoyed my bath in the tub before bed! Swiss Chalet is right across the parking lot and it's close to lots of shopping!

The parking lot can get full in front of the hotel but there's also parking in the back. The staff who checked us in was friendly and the process quick. There are 2 elevators and the wait was never too long. Just outside of the elevators on the main floor is the pool area and gym. Being on the second floor, we also used the stairs and they were clean and not creepy. The room is spacious. The bathroom had ample counter space for 2 toiletry bags. There's a mini fridge and coffee area. It's too bad they didn't offer tea though and there was no sugar for the coffee which could have been missed for our room. The bed and bedding was comfortable and they give you lots of pillows. There was a sofa which is great for seating and magazines on the table. The work desk was also new and had a nice chair. The room would be great for business travelers and those on vacation and want to relax. I didn't use the pool/hot tub but it was often occupied. I used the gym on a Sunday morning and there were kids in the pool and adults in the hot tub. The gym can get a bit warm with the sun shining in the window but it's decent with an elliptical, treadmill, bike, and lots of free weights with one bench. Water in the cooler and sanitary wipes for the machines was great. The main area is nice with lots of seating and the open restaurant is convenient as there's also a Starbucks. I've had a few meals in the restaurant and the service is attentive and good food. There are conference rooms and washrooms close by too. Great option for a hotel for those looking for a place to stay in the west end!

The artwork in the rooms felt totally Fung Shui! The bathroom was spacious and had a huge armoire with iron and blow dryer tucked inside (thanks for helping me find it, Hans!). The free Wifi was easy to access and maintained connection throughout the weekend - bonus! I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Edmonton. Located minutes off the Henday and close to West Edmonton Mall. The cafe/restaurant was fabulous and perfectly made my Starbucks Caramel Macchiato.
