We could not be happier with the finished product or with the experience we had with McAdams. Everyone we worked with was professional, friendly and helpful. Further, there were no surprises along the way from start to finish with regard to scope of work or expense. Additionally, our project was tricky from a permitting perspective and we decided to do a complete landscaping project in tandem with our remodel. McAdams was willing to work with us and the landscaping company to sync our permits and carry out the work while coordinating project timing. McAdams delivered on all of their promises and their craftsmanship is excellent. At one point, we had something turn out slightly less than perfect and when we brought it to their attention, they completely revised it to make sure it met their standards. Our finished project turned out better than we had hoped. We would not hesitate to recommend McAdams and definitely plan to use them again for future projects.

But at the end, man, you have something pretty terrific out of it. My process with McAdams started in June 2017, when I contracted with them to remodel, primarily, my master bathroom in my townhouse. However, they were also repainting the entire interior (including millwork), installing new flooring everywhere, and doing a few other things. The actual building process began in January, 2018 and ended, pretty much, in July. Their work is very high quality. My project lead, Rich, was amazing - very easy to work with. After the build, there have been some minor detail-y things that have required them to come back to fix. Dale, the owner, has been very nice about getting right on these things. One star off for two reasons: they are very expensive. Know that going in. The other reason probably won't impact you. When I contracted with them, they were going through a bit of a staffing turnover. I loved my original project manager and was sad when I learned he was leaving. Because of the turnover, certain things weren't done when they should have been due to communication lapses (permits weren't pulled...). This resulted in my daughter and I spending more time in a hotel than we'd been prepared to do. However, Dale worked with us to reimburse our cost, so that was terrific. And again, my house is gorgeous.

He gave me a bid of 16K sight unseen. We got the work done from a license company for 8K. They came to the house took measurements and actually looked at the work. I can't speak on Iron brothers work quality, but I can speak on the way they handled my work request. I wasn't happy with them. I feel if it was a 100K or better job, they would handle their customer differently. Actually go to the job site and make you feel warm and fuzzy. I just say get 2-3 bids before you sign on the dotted line.

If you decide to go with someone else, you need to pay double for the blueprints/floor plans. This is something a lot of people are getting screwed over. The designers they use are old school and don't have a website or portfolio...if you don't like their plans your SOL! Your better off to have someone else design and then maybe have them build but they add 40%, so be careful! I've heard that several others found out the hard way and wasted so much money on plans that they couldn't afford to use and they weren't what they wanted.

We contacted Chermak when our bathrooms were destroyed during a massive water leak in our home and…read morewe were dealing with a huge insurance claim. We were initially recommended to a few contractors that specialized in restoration from leaks but started to feel uncomfortable with the process and like they were all trying to take advantage of us via the insurance claim. A neighborhood Facebook group pointed us to Chermak with consistent reports of them having great service, but also a fair price and staying on time and on budget. I was quickly connected to Angel the project manager and she was able to come out to our house that week for an inspection. She immediately built trust with us and showed a genuine care for wanting to get us back into our home (we had been out already for 3 months). We trusted our gut and quickly got to work with Angel and Chermak and getting the ball rolling on the scope of work to be done and approved by our insurance company. And to risk the obvious pun here, Angel was an Angel, there's no way this would have gone how it did without her, for all that she manages and does she's very efficient and good at her job and really absorbs a lot of the stress and difficulty that is common to this kind of work. She also was very reasonable with us in not upselling, offering suggestions where things could be easier or money better spent, which helped with our trust. Fast forward to the working starting EARLY (which was a good thing) and not only completing on time but even a week EARLY than what was planned, so exciting for us. Kim from the design team helped us get our plans together for the bathrooms to achieve what we really wanted out of them and set the plans in place. Tyler was our GC for the 8 weeks of restoration and I selfishly don't want to tell everyone how good he is because then everyone will want him. We were concerned about having so many people in our home and around our stuff, but he so quickly made us feel comfortable and was adopted into the family. He also really listened to us and understood our wants, needs and particular requests as the bathrooms were constructed, he knew it was important to us things be done the right way and was willing to take the time to see it through. He's also just an all-around good dude and we miss having him here. I've given many referrals since our job wrapped to other prospective clients for Chermak and we intend to hire them again when it's time to remodel our kitchen. Our job was not without any issues but they were determined to do the right thing and see us be happy with the end result, which is a really great experience in this kind of arrangement. Customer service goes a long way and is often worth paying for and we are so happy with our new bathrooms. Thank you Chermak team!

I want to specifically mention the team that worked on the place since I'm so happy with the job. AnJanette oversaw things and walked me through the job, Gary did a phenomenal job doing the initial assessment and recon, Jack, Craig, Chris, Carson, and John did the work and painting. We are a part of online social communities that share home renovation tips, and we knew that going into this, a remodel with any contractor will be a stressful process. And that proved very much to be true in our case as well! We went through a ton of estimates with various contractors. Diego was not the most expensive but also not the cheapest. In a few words, he was very fair and honest with his assessment. And after all is said and done though, we are very happy that we decided to choose Diego to work with. There were many surprises throughout the process, but he was always calm, cool, and collected. When work wasn't done properly, he didn't complain and agreed to the rework as needed. He also took care of random smaller issues that popped up that weren't explicitly stated in our contract. His core crew was always polite, courteous, and respectful of our home. After every working day, they cleaned up after themselves to ensure that the rest of our house didn't look like a warzone. Months later, we've had a minor issue come up with a power outlet, and we can confirm Diego honors the warranty on his work - he sent someone to fix things right up!

Bar was our project manager, and he made sure that everything continued to be done correctly and on time. If there was any bad news to give us (delays, etc) he wouldn't be shy about telling us, which we appreciated. We love our new bathroom, and will certainly consider Bar and Volcano Builders for future projects.
