He was also very good at fitting the new AC into the space for the old one and ensuring it was sealed and weather proofed. However, when he finished the work, he left large boxes and packing materials scattered where he opened them and filling our kitchen floor and on the dining room table. He didn't do anything to organize the mess or break down the boxes. He said most of it was recyclable and he wouldn't do anything with it. Left us to clean up after he left and figure out how to manage and get rid of these large heavy boxes. Additionally, he had put the old AC on our deck. We asked if he would recycle the old AC and he agreed - charging us an additional $200 to take it. When he put it on our deck, it left piles of black (not sure what) that we had to clean after he left. Additionally, I had purchased a new bracket to support the new air-conditioner. He decided without consulting me to use the old bracket instead. (Hopefully it last for the long run!)

We first learned about Wise Choice through Yelp, and although we were initially nervous about choosing a contractor for such a large job (they gave us the best estimate, by far!) without a personal recommendation, we couldn't be happier with our decision. They were great to work with throughout the entire process, from architectural and engineering plans, permitting, and the actual construction. The project manager, Sergiy, and foreman, Bogdan, were very honest, helpful, and responsive every step of the way. The project was completed pretty much on budget (with only a couple of unforeseen issues outside of their control) and on time. We love the results, and several people have commented that the addition looks like it should have been there all along. We can't recommend Wise Choice highly enough!

I was referred to Jack's Construction by Frank Lumber. Jack quoted me $1,600 plus staining to…read morereplace my door. I specifically asked if there were any additional costs, materials, delivery, anything, and he said no, everything was included except staining & sales tax. I got another quote, which was slightly less than his price, but given that he was recommended by Frank, I choose to work with him. When the door arrived he quoted me 4-6 weeks to install the door, I kindly thanked his time and said I would rather work with someone else as I would like get my door sooner than later. He said he can do it sooner and sent the door for staining. After the install, he handed me an invoice for $3,600 plus tax. When I questioned it, his story kept changing: * First he said it was for extra materials and delivery, the same things he told me were included. * Then he stated that the trim was so expensive and that he had to go get it. * Then he claimed staining alone was $1,800. I called the staining company directly. The actual cost was $900. At that point he continued being evasive and aggressive. He eventually offered a $400 discount off his inflated invoice. Needing the project done, hoping that I never have to deal with him, I paid $3,200 and moved on. We agreed on $2,500. I paid $3,200. The difference was built on lies. Avoid.

We replaced our 47 year old front door recently with a beautiful new clear fir door and relight. We…read morethrew Jack a few curve balls such as ordering the door with the frame painted as we were originally going to paint the door as well, but several people told us we should stain it instead as it would look much nicer. The door arrived with the painted frame and Jack took it to the vendor to have it stained for us. In the mean time, we searched for a paint that matched the door. When Jack brought the door back to us, the stain was too light. Not Jack's fault, but the staining vendor's. Jack went to bat for us and arranged to have the door restained. He even picked the door up at our house, again, and took it to the strainer. The stain was finally the right shade, and Jack brought the door back to us. He was always very gracious about having to make several trips. Ian did the door installation, and he did an amazing job, considering out house is 47 years old, and nothing in our house is plumb or level. The new door looks beautiful, and we couldn't be happier! We definitely recommend Jack's Construction.

They were affordable, knowledgeable, and very willing to work with my needs and my budget. They were able to obtain the permits that were needed which is an important and valuable service. They also took care of the structural engineering that was needed to make sure that we had sufficient support for the deck. Their showroom is very helpful. There are samples and some mockups of decks, railings, lighting, etc. There are lots of options and the staff was great about explaining the options but not pressure-upselling. I felt comfortable choosing the materials and extras with their help. After the project was finished, there was one support post that didn't look finished to me when I looked at it from our dining room window. All Decks was great about coming out. After seeing and understanding what I wanted to upgrade, they were able to install a matching trim piece that made the post look complete. The deck has been installed now since Oct 2024. It still looks great and I couldn't be happier.

Not only did they install a beautiful custom made railing on my interior stairs and the bridge that connects both sides of my upstairs, they also coordinated with their subcontractor, Prymych Home Services, to replace my carpeting with LVP flooring. City Bee ran both the railing and flooring projects so I had one quote, one contract and one project manager. Their price was very competitive, they did high quality work, and they finished in a timely manner. Oleksandr, the owner, project managed everything and made himself available all throughout the project. He was very responsive to all my questions and provided thorough answers so I could understand the technical aspects of the work. Irons Brothers remodeled our kitchen. They finished ON TIME and ON BUDGET. However, these few words don't begin to capture how great it was to work with them. We had heard so many horror stories of contractors who said they would take a couple weeks and ended up taking months or they estimated a cost and came in way over budget. We knew we did not want that. We met Joseph and Melissa Irons because their kids go to the same school as ours and I had encountered them through school activities. We didn't have much of a clue what we wanted beyond something open and way better than what we had. They recommended Terence at Luna Kitchen and Bath. He designed an idea and helped us through choosing cabinets, light fixtures, appliances and all the other choices that seemed so overwhelming. Then we got a schedule that was 13 weeks long. We lived in the house the entire time they remodeled the kitchen. The project included taking down two interior walls, taking out a sliding glass door and replacing it with a new outside wall and window. Each step of the way a specialist came out to do their part. They even custom made siding to match our existing siding and they matched the exterior paint perfectly. The cabinets, counter tops, and appliances are all perfect. The kitchen was a sort of cube in the corner of the big living room. Now the whole room is open and the entire space feels magical - comfortable, spacious, warm, inviting, well-lit. I'm the type to obsess over a tiny visual detail that isn't quite right and I am having none of that because they did such great finishing work. I waited three weeks after they were done to even decorate the rest of the room because I wanted to have the beauty of the kitchen matched throughout the room (rather than just put all the old stuff back in there). All of our questions were answered in a timely manner. They even came out on a couple weekends (including Father's Day) to fix silly little problems that we should have been able to figure out but we are house idiots. They were always patient. Not once, NOT ONCE, did they fall behind schedule. They completed their work exactly on time. The estimate they gave us in the beginning was more than we wanted to spend but we accepted that Seattle is an expensive place to, well, do anything. So it was super important to us that they not go over their estimate. And they did not - in fact, they came in slightly under. On the last day of the schedule, the clean up guy came and I wish he could come to my house every week and clean. It was spotless when he left and I mean the entire room, not just the kitchen. He even washed the windows that are not by the kitchen area. Before this experience, I would have thought it impossible to make the 13 weeks worth it. We moved our kitchen into the downstairs laundry room and bar area of the family room. It was cramped and a bunch of other unhappy adjectives. Because they were working directly above the laundry room, saw dust kept coming off the ceiling onto the kitchen area. (And yes, when they happened to go downstairs, they were even good about cleaning that up throughout the process). Weeks of frozen dinners and doing dishes in a utility sink, of having lots of strangers in the house all day long, and I can say without any qualifiers, that it was totally worth it. I only wish we would come into a windfall of money so we could use Irons Brothers again to remodel other parts of the house.... read more

I've had the pleasure of working with the great team at Irons Brothers Construction for two charity events: Painting a Better Tomorrow - an annual fall event, where members and friends of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish counties commit one Saturday to paint and make minor cosmetic repairs to homeless shelters and nonprofit agencies throughout our community. MBA Rampathon - Since 1993 Rampathon has built more than 300 free ramps for families in King and Snohomish counties through this annual event. I have never met a more dedicated team of professionals who donate their outstanding skills and time to reach out in the community. Their team made me feel welcome and happy to be a part of the project with them. The single mother saw her apartment repainted so carefully she had tears in her eyes, and a renewed sense of pride to accomplish her goals. She kept saying she couldn't believe that anyone would do this for her. Twice I have been witness to the results of their charitable works and both times, the recipients have been exceptionally pleased with the life changing results. The ramp I worked with them on freed a woman who'd not been able to leave her house easily due to a crippling handicap. The ramp changed her life! We made the mistake of not hiring the Irons Brothers in the first place to do our bathroom remodel. We thought we would be saving a little bit of money by having another company do some of the work, we were very mistaken. The company we hired to come and do some of the plumbing work, did a horrible job. The worst part was, that we didn't know they had done a terrible job until the Irons Brothers came to finish the remodel and pointed out all of these errors to us, (the wrong screws were used to secure the shower surround, the wrong pipe fitters were used so they were rusting out and the drainage was 3 inches off of where it was supposed to be) essentially all the work the previous company had done was coming apart, literally. Everything had to be pulled out and replaced. We were now out thousands of dollars from what we had paid the original company, with the Irons Brothers help we were able to save our bathroom as well as get some of our money back from the other company. They went well above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and that our bathroom was done the right way. Our advice to other first time home owners who are looking to have any remodeling work done in their home, avoid the headache, don't make the same mistake we did, have it done right the first time by hiring the Irons Brothers Construction company, you will not be disappointed. read more

My experience with Irons Brothers has been excellent. The reason I chose Irons Brothers was partly based on a call I had with them on another project. I had called them a couple of years ago to provide a bid for a basement remodel. I previously used another contractor on an addition to my home that I was happy with, but wanted to get a second bid. When I spoke with Joseph at Irons Brothers on the basement remodel he gave me an approximate cost for the project but also said that if I was happy with my current contractor I should stay with them. This professionalism and unselfishness stuck with me and I thought to myself if I have another project I would call Irons Brothers first. When my garage project came up I called Irons Brothers and chose them to do the work. I can say without a doubt I have been very happy with the work they have done. They are professional and communicate regularly on their progress. They not only do the job you hired them for they are willing to go the extra step. When I had to go out of town, they took pictures of the project and sent them to me so I could keep a running journal of the project. read more

I stumbled upon Irons Brothers when looking for a good contractor in Shoreline. What I found was a GREAT contractor in Shoreline! My first project was a wooden fence up my steep backyard, followed by a complete kitchen remodel, later a bathroom remodel, and then some additional finishing work that I was unable to do myself. Carport and shed drainage and electrical projects were the latest. Now I'm planning to have the front walkway and porch done this spring. I don't have enough money to do all the projects at once but I'm always so happy with the last one I start planning for the next. We were initially recommended to a few contractors that specialized in restoration from leaks but started to feel uncomfortable with the process and like they were all trying to take advantage of us via the insurance claim. A neighborhood Facebook group pointed us to Chermak with consistent reports of them having great service, but also a fair price and staying on time and on budget. I was quickly connected to Angel the project manager and she was able to come out to our house that week for an inspection. She immediately built trust with us and showed a genuine care for wanting to get us back into our home (we had been out already for 3 months). We trusted our gut and quickly got to work with Angel and Chermak and getting the ball rolling on the scope of work to be done and approved by our insurance company. And to risk the obvious pun here, Angel was an Angel, there's no way this would have gone how it did without her, for all that she manages and does she's very efficient and good at her job and really absorbs a lot of the stress and difficulty that is common to this kind of work. She also was very reasonable with us in not upselling, offering suggestions where things could be easier or money better spent, which helped with our trust. Fast forward to the working starting EARLY (which was a good thing) and not only completing on time but even a week EARLY than what was planned, so exciting for us. Kim from the design team helped us get our plans together for the bathrooms to achieve what we really wanted out of them and set the plans in place. Tyler was our GC for the 8 weeks of restoration and I selfishly don't want to tell everyone how good he is because then everyone will want him. We were concerned about having so many people in our home and around our stuff, but he so quickly made us feel comfortable and was adopted into the family. He also really listened to us and understood our wants, needs and particular requests as the bathrooms were constructed, he knew it was important to us things be done the right way and was willing to take the time to see it through. He's also just an all-around good dude and we miss having him here. I've given many referrals since our job wrapped to other prospective clients for Chermak and we intend to hire them again when it's time to remodel our kitchen. Our job was not without any issues but they were determined to do the right thing and see us be happy with the end result, which is a really great experience in this kind of arrangement. Customer service goes a long way and is often worth paying for and we are so happy with our new bathrooms. Thank you Chermak team!

It's a wonderful company and I cannot recommend them highly enough. I don't plan on having any more remodeling done for some time but if and when I do I'll gladly return to Chermak. I want to specifically mention the team that worked on the place since I'm so happy with the job. AnJanette oversaw things and walked me through the job, Gary did a phenomenal job doing the initial assessment and recon, Jack, Craig, Chris, Carson, and John did the work and painting. I don't know enough about the details to give specifics of who did what, but it was all done really, really well and I am ecstatic about it. If you're looking for a remodel, Chermak knows their stuff and does the job well.

J&C Contractors did an extensive renovation of our kitchen, laundry, and powder rooms. It was a…read moretotal "to the studs" (& beyond) project, and John and his team were fantastic to work with. This project involved multiple structural changes, as we moved load-bearing walls and pushed out an exterior wall to add square footage to the space, plus HVAC, plumbing, electrical, insulation, siding, windows, tiling, hardwoord flooring, cabinets and custom carpentry, painting, etc. We especially appreciated how John and Marcos would talk through options with us. They always gave us clear choices with an understanding of how they would impact pricing and timelines. We also really appreciated their flexibility when we decided to push out the exterior wall, which was a change to the original scope. John worked hard to get the engineer and city back quickly to approve the permit revision, and also was strategic about what work continued while we waited for that to ensure we weren't taking on unnecessary risk. The attention to detail is another thing the J&C team does exceptionally well - we had custom cabinets with a really complicated façade to cover a soffit, and the team didn't think the original plan looked good enough, so they basically built an extra piece from scratch to make the entire thing look seamless. For our window installation, Marcos came up with a brilliant idea for how to frame the window using the same stone slab as our backsplash and it's truly one of my favorite features. Also, I realize it seems like a given, but based on many other renovations we've seen, the fact that everything is perfectly level and centered is huge (even the cabinet drawer faces all line up exactly!). Finally, the team did a fantastic job keeping the area as clean as possible. This was critical as we chose to live in our house during the renovation. They would regularly inspect the plastic walls and make sure things were sealed well, plus they cleaned up after themselves every day and when the project was completed. Really fantastic experience, and we'll be hiring J&C for any future projects!

They also had an excellent remnant that worked beautifully for the small area around our fireplace, which saved us time and money without compromising on quality. The installation team--Alex and Mykola--were fantastic. And Mykola, in particular, deserves an extra shout-out for his meticulous attention to detail. When it comes to quartz and countertops, precision is everything, and he truly delivered. Our template specialist, Mike, was also excellent--professional, accurate, and efficient. You really don't want to gamble when it comes to countertops. Go with professionals who stand by their work, bring real expertise, and offer proper warranties. Apparently the last year's service company did not clean the gutters and the water was not flowing. Sam gave me an estimate that was reasonable. Multiple times. The north side of our house was instantly flooded, water coming through the windows that were opened (that was the end of open windows) and the gutter system failed miserably. Roof size / gutter and downspout capacity were not aligned. Nick, one their team members, was onsite and quickly diagnosed the problem to be downspout positioning (one of the two basically useless) and suggested they add a third one. From there it has been months (!) of chasing Kevin and Jeff. Replying to emails was not working and with voicemails that are full and not accepting additional messages, it was quite challenging. After GC stepped in, I was given a quote for gutters screen (an upgrade I requested) and the additional downspout that was needed. After *three* months of chasing them, the first installation date they would offer is three months out. Total of six months!! My expectation that they cover the cost of the downspout that they have failed to install in the right place in the beginning and recommended I add after the fact was flat out rejected. The ugliness of this company came straight out in blaming me for the mistake (the newly found gutter specialist). Then claiming their team member should have never recommended it and that it was not the problem. Going on and on about all of the various reasons it is my responsibility and not theirs. Many thousands of dollars of a project. $150 fix (paid to someone else who did it in ~30 minutes of work). Losing you good name, integrity and reputation like this reflects on the company, leadership and quality of work (or lack thereof) you can expect from RoofWorks Northwest. The images are of the actual one way email communications I had with them for ~3 months. As well as the latest reply I refined. I had two other vendors take a look at the fix, add the gutters screen protectors (additional business) and do the job in les than a week. I'd go with either of them - or many others - before RoofWorks Northwest. They are not worthy of your business and evidently, won't be there for you after.

He came over same day to survey the job I was requesting which was to tile the backsplash of a powder room bathroom. Jeff provided a quote to install the tile and finish the work of the bathroom including install of vanity, plumbing, sink, mirror, caulking. His quote seemed reasonable. However due to the holidays and budgeting we elected to only have the tile work performed. He was happy to only do the tile work instead of everything he originally quoted us for. According to my partner Zach, Jeff was very professional to speak to and work with throughout the entire process while I was traveling. Jeff even helped out as a bonus and fixed how our carpet met up with the tile bathroom floor that we had installed ourselves but did not take care of the transition between the tile and carpet ourselves properly. When I came home and saw the tile work I immediately knew it was worth the money. Everything was level on the wall. The tile was expertly cut around the plumbing, and the grout lines everywhere were very clean. He cleaned up after himself so well that you wouldn't of known a day before tile was installed.
