She has a great personality, she even asks what other doctors appointments or tests or procedures the child is having and makes sure to share information with those doctors so that everyone is on the same page. He ordered labs the first time I saw him and I received a quick and accurate diagnosis, FINALLY! The disease spreads quickly and almost two years had already gone by, so I am very grateful that he knew to test me for certain things -- things that two PC providers and one ENT did not test me for. If he had not tested me, I would have ended up disabled eventually. His nurse is always nice. I have called her many times, especially when I was in more pain than usual. They completed paperwork very, very quickly. What I was diagnosed with is not even in his specialty, really, but he knew to test me for it because it does affect the nerves. I am so grateful for him and his staff! After almost two years of being misdiagnosed, it was a relief to know what I really have, although not a good disease to have. Some doctors don't even know to test you for some things, despite you having ALL the symptoms. Again, I am GRATEFUL!!! Fourth and fifth opinions are sometimes necessary. Instead, we spent over 6 hours sitting in uncertainty with little to no communication about what was going on. To make matters worse, after the ultrasound was performed, we were told that because this is an emergency clinic, we were not allowed to see the ultrasound. We were left with more questions than answers and no clear explanation of what was happening. Every time we asked for an update, we felt like we were being brushed aside rather than informed. No family should have to spend hour after hour worrying and wondering about such an important situation while receiving virtually no information. The lack of communication, transparency, and concern for patients made an already stressful experience even more frustrating. What should have been a joyful day turned into a long, exhausting, and emotionally draining ordeal. I cannot recommend this facility based on our experience.

I want to give a shout out to Shamika (not sure of the spelling) in the surgical services waiting area. She was just a ray of absolute sunshine and so very kind and accommodating. She really made the experience there so wonderful. (Give her a raise, NOVANT... she's representing you VERY WELL!) The anesthesiologist and nurses were all very thorough in explaining what to expect, timeframes and such. Due to my daughter's low blood sugar, they made sure to raise it with meds before taking her back. They were very reassuring. The nurse who tended to my daughter in recovery was great. She was so polite and thoughtful, making sure to explain the discharge instructions to both my daughter and myself. Great experience!

My mother was her patient for several months and the entire experience was frustrating for both of us. Dr. Kirby asked questions of us and gave directives, but never shared any information or asked if we had questions. On our last visit I had had a list of things to ask and we thought she left the room to check on something, but turns out she had moved on to another patient and didn't have time to come back to us. Very bizarre and awkward. It became clear that her plan of treatment was not up for discussion or negotiation and we were supposed to blindly follow instructions without knowing the reasoning behind it all. We weren't being argumentative or challenging her - just wanted more information and to discuss options. We switched doctors and practices after this and feel my mom got much better care after leaving. Ironically, the new doctor went in an entirely different direction and had a much better outcome with none of the scary side affects.
