Now, this park is away from where I live, but both my son and I fell in love with it. It's very clean and offers many safe activities for children. It has one tall slide and one tube slide, currently inoperable, as well as dog-friendly trails (please bring a leash, feces bag, and water). There are about 97 steep stairs to work your glutes if you decide to go down the 50-foot slide. They have plenty of tables for eating, but no restrooms. People are usually nice and play well together. My son enjoys it and loves it! This is a must-visit park!

If you saw the news articles about the grand opening you know this is a unique park that includes a wide variety of climbing structures, swings and two thrilling slides as the focal point of the fun. There is also a skating area, splash pad, dog park, a state of the art exercise area for adults and an area for food trucks. There are places to sit while watching the kids. There are two things that need to be pointed out about this public shared space. 1. It is a shared space so hopefully people will clean up after themselves. When we visited today I noticed it was already getting a collection of bottles, cans, plastic snack bags, candy wrappers and even bandages in the wood chips throughout the play area. 2. There is not one trash can in the play area, requiring people to walk outside the play area to find a trash can. While I believe people should make the trip, trash cans must be convienent in order to keep the place clean. I picked up trash I found on the playground but didn't feel comfortable leaving my children unsupervised to go outside the play area to the trash cans...which are a ways away. I hope you find your way to this fantastic park. I hope we can all take care of it so it continues to be an enjoyable experience for all.

The playground…read moreis big enough to maintain a kid's interest and enthusiasm for at least an hour, and there's plentiful seating in both shady and sunny spots. A birthday party would probably be a great success here, especially with supplemental kites or frisbees or other throwing things. The grassy field is sizable enough for kickball and other such terrain-sprawling sport. We had a compelling game of pine one ninja (think live-action fruit ninja, sub Dowel rods and pine cones). There's a quaint earthen walking path on the far side of the park that, I believe, leads to a pedestrian sidewalk passing over I40 and leading to the Winrock mall. There's also A bunch of well-maintained tennis courts, which I thought were for public use but appear to be restricted access... tennis club or something? I don't know for sure; better check with google on that. There's imposing chain link fences surrounding them, and while tunneling under may be difficult due to the asphalt and turf perimeter, you could probably climb them if you really wanted to play when the courts were closed. * Yelp does not condone criminal trespassing, and their views are not necessarily reflected in my satirical advice on circumventing restricted access. And oh how I haven't begun to note your most impressive feature, the skate/bike/scooter park in your belly. A cool swirly platform thingamajig that the oldest kids seem to love even more than those it was designed to entertain. Bucket swings and regular size swings. Wood chips rather than sand, important in the hot summer. A covered picnic area for lunch and/or spent parents. Immense grassy field, perfect for soccer/ultimate Frisbee/kickball (no baseball diamond, however). The Bad: Not well cared for or maintained. We usually find trash lying around, some of it sketch-o, and while I'd love to put all of the blame on shifty patrons, I'm beginning to think the city isn't investing enough to keep it clean. No shade on the playground-not unusual. The metal scooper sitting device (which gets its own sandbox for no obvious reason) is often broken. No lighting after dark. Rather limited bucket swing diameter. Over-soaking sprinkler system sometimes breeds mosquitoes by the swarmful. Trees line the perimeter but they're pesky, a serious waste of shade opportunity. The Verdict: With a new Community Center coming next Fall, expect a resurgence of activity on the grounds and in the 'hood which should translate to more of a deterrence for the shady types, and more kids on the scene. Decent, but not great park for families, and avoid during the heat of the summer.

One appropriate for young children and one for older. My daughters (ages 2 and 4) enjoyed both structures and the swing set. Surrounding the park is a hilly grass area, covered picnic tables and a sidewalk around the perimeter. The facility was a bit run down- in need of some sprucing up, ground clean up and graffiti removal. My family will definitely frequent this park (maybe even bring gloves and baggies to aid in picking up trash) because it is convenient and fun for our girls. I wouldn't recommend throwing your next play-date or birthday party here, but if you're in the area, it's a good park.

No illicit behavior, no bums lying about, no degenerates up to no good, just a good clean little park. I mean let's face it, if you're at a park for any reason, you should be enjoying yourself right?
