First, hotel arranged transport to pick us up from airport and she was there waiting. Perfect. Hotel is located on a quiet street corner with no traffic. At check-in, we were greeted by the owner. He was super friendly and helpful. Also, we had a bottle of wine waiting for us at check-in. Bonus! Each room has a exotic themes of different places around the world (which the owner shared he had been. Awesome). We were booked in the Saigon room and we loved it. The quarters were a bit cramped, but there was only 2 of us. Also, we did not have air conditioning, but that wasn't needed at all, even though it was July; however, we did have Wi-Fi. I loved the large windows of the street below from both the room & bathroom. Plus, the windows helped keep the room temperature, just right. They provided a Breakfast of croissants & coffee and its located near metro, so it was perfect for grabbing food before setting out for sight seeing. I actually would rate this 4.5 stars!

Brussels loosely has two places you want to be: (1) near the European administrative buildings and parliament and (2) near the Grand Place. This definitely favors the former over the latter and made it a decent choice for my work trip. That said, the Courtyard is only a bit further away, is closer to the Grand Place and is slightly nicer. Specifically, the Courtyard has a decent restaurant as compared to this hotel's paltry breakfast with nothing hot except for beverages and some weird automatic machine to make your own scrambled eggs in a cup. The room itself was nice enough with big windows and decent shades. Definitely styled to be urban hip/chic, but a bit less functional than you'd like with no real dresser and a mediocre closet.

Included in the room rate that the Conference arranged for was the hotel's breakfast buffet. It was standard Belgium styled buffet, above average in selection and quality. Really nice change, especially when it took me 21 hours of travel and having airline foods, and so I sleep in a comfy bed, and wake up to REAL food! The conference facilities were really nice and what stood out was they refreshed the water after every break! Offered still water (non carbonated) and carbonated water for each pair of attendees in glass bottles. All side drinks were in glass bottles as well. The conference provided lunch was a nice selection of sandwiches, quiches, and salads, with finger sized eclairs - really nice. First impressions very important. After check in, the very nice and personable front desk worker escorted me to my room, showed me all the features, and explained some of the hotel amenities along the way, gave me a contact number and wished me a nice stay. A nice personalized tough I thought. Check out was efficient with no wait. Housekeeping A+ with workers who made sure to greet you when you ran into them in the hallways. I did not get to explore the area much, but it is located on Avenue Louise with a lot of higher end shops. But by walking just a block or so, there quite a mixture of other places, smaller stores, grocery stores, mini pharmacies, etc. But it is a bit away from the city center. So a nice, solid place to stay, with nice service and would definitely stay again.

We came back from dinner to find it open...when I let the front desk know, they asked if anything was missing and if we wanted them to look at surveillance cameras, we said nothing was missing but we did want them to check cameras, they never followed up. I asked to speak to their GM, they said he's on holiday - funny that the next day I get an automated email from "him" asking about my stay. The location - good and next to transport, though about a mile from Brussels central square. The service - terrible. Our fridge was broken for over 24 hours. We had to ask 3 times for them to fix it. It took 20 minutes to get a cocktail at the Louis bar and quite frankly, it feels like no one wants to be there. The breakfast buffet - ok, for 40 dollars, I feel like it should have been more unique. It had all the basics, but nothing over the top and if it's not included in your stay, I'd opt out. The bar - its 20 dollar drinks... and a 30 dollar club sandwich... will leave it at that The room - huge, but outdated and the beds were terrible. The outlet was on the verge of falling off the wall and the shower has no light. The pool - is 35 euros a person, they bait you into thinking the pool is their property but it's actually part of an independent spa. It's just too expensive for what you get.

However, like nearly every hotel in Europe, the room was too warm, and we had to keep the windows open at all times to get any relief. No major complaints, aside from the area being quite noisy, and one night, there were people outside blasting their music late into the night. No noise from other rooms, though. The hotel had a small bar and "restaurant" that sold a few basic low quality items, such as pizza -- a lifesaver if you were starving and not picky, but not a place for a meal. They did have a decent breakfast buffet though, although it did cost something like €15. Not cheap, but at least the food was pretty good quality (unlike the awful breakfast at XO Hotel Inner!). There weren't laundry facilities in the hotel, but they were close to a laundromat, which we very much needed in the middle of a three week trip. Overall, a decent hotel for a good price. The bed was nice and comfy but yes like many people say it is small but they do have wi-fi soo that is a bonus too! :) On a budget and traveling in Europe you might as well check this place out.

All is all, quite pleasant stay.
