Imagine, walking in the rain to find this building that doesn't have a lighted sign to find...in a foreign country, with vagrants about. Sounds like something from a horror movie. The front desk was fine checking in. Although they did give me information that was misleading and not correct. I had an upgrade? Access to a Club Lounge? Weird...you didn't mention that. Oh wait, the Lounge is closed. And the restaurant, oh yeah, closed too - relocated into a weird corner in the Lobby bar. Internet, it's free. Would I enter any personal information on it (thinking it was secure and I might get my identity stolen)? Absolutely not. Want to print a boarding pass? Not as easy as it sounds! And don't look to Guest Services to help - because they don't know anything about it. Room? Outdated? Absolutely. Could I hear kids and other people out in the hall...as well as the sirens throughout the night? Absolutely! Was it clean........eh, a little. Sketch part of town as also indicated by the many, many signs in the Lobby that said "Thieves look just like you and me".... Was I glad to check out? Absolutely.

Oily face print on window. It makes me wonder what I can't see. Bed is made of granite, it feels like. Quite possibly the most uncomfortable sleep I've had in a long time. Blackout curtains do not work. It's only dark for 5 to 6 hrs in June. The curtains will not block light. Yelling outside until 0100 and construction at 0630 aee all perfectly heard in your room. Bring earplugs. See initial quote...in a dangerous part of town.

The rooms are a bit dated, but our room was very spacious and the bathroom had double sinks and a separate makeup/hairstyling area. Our big problem was the Air Conditioning. It has just been unseasonably hot, but the AC wasn't going below 24.5 (about 76 degrees). When I called down, the first person said to give it time and she would send a fan up. When I called down a few hours later, the person said she and her colleague would change the settings on their end and set the thermostat to 20 (68 degrees). That evening, it's still around 24 degrees, so we opened the windows and put the fan in one of the windows. It helped cool the room down, but also let in tons of noise and light; bad for sleeping. The next day, when none of this was resolved, I asked to speak to a manager and explained to her the situation. She assured me that she would have a technician look at it and monitor to ensure that it is working properly. By the time we returned later, our room was around 22 (71.6; not what I wanted, but much more tolerable). Again, I find it annoying that none of the other people actually worked to help me, but I am glad that someone did so I can get some sleep. It's definitely not a luxury hotel, as far as service goes, but it served our purposes well in Brussels. If you stay here and need something, I suggest going to the manager. And, to the manager(s), I suggest retraining your employees to be honest with customers about what they can and will do.

It it reasonably priced with a very friendly staff. When you enter this hotel it feels like you are entering a high end club lounge (club music is always playing). It has a very laid back cool young energy vibe......although during the week they are bus loads of retirees visiting for a couple days. Their food is just as good as going to a restaurant downtown (well actually the steak and breakfast buffet was). It is a hip downtown spot so you will see people enjoying the lounge atmosphere but are probably not staying at the hotel. It sort of reminds me of a more reasonable version of the W. Grand Place is basically across the street, and there's tons of restaurants to walk to. It's easy to get on the metro as well. 5-star location. They also had free (very large) lockers that I could use after I checked out. The room itself was nothing amazing, but the bed was fine and there was plenty of space. The major annoying part was the check-in process. When I got to the hotel, I could not get in the building. You have to go through this lengthy check-in process that seriously involves taking a picture of your Passport with your phone. I'm not gonna go do this out on the street! I tried pressing the call buzzer a good 10-15 times and it took a good 10 minutes to get anyone to show up. Finally someone helped me so everything worked out. Also, the whole thing is based on these pin codes to get on the elevator or into your room, they don't give you a room card or anything. I could have done without this.

Not much is nearby. It's a Turkish neighborhood.. A little poorer than Brussels proper.. The staff is kind of "whatever" and not that I care, but my room was not made up after the first night I was there. You would think that because they are a top rated hotel that this wouldn't happen, we'll think again. I had over 20 bed bug bites all over my face and body. The staff while apologetic stated they couldn't give me a refund or a partial refund because it was the weekend and the authorized manager was not onsite. All they could do was change my room. My trip to Brussels was ruined because I was so uncomfortable with large welts and constant itching. If this isn't bad enough they have no AC system. I contacted the general manager and never got a reply. DO NOT STAY HERE!
