Unfortunately I didn't feel like this was a 4 star hotel experience. First off, I reserved an "updated King" room and requested to be away from the elevator. Now, I know that I checked in quite late (11:30pm), but I got a king ADA room directly across the elevator. The room itself didn't feel very updated, and I certainly didn't request an ADA room. And of course, being next to the elevator you get to hear all sorts of noise. The shower tile felt super grimy and made me wish that I had brought shower sandals like my college dorm days. The next morning, I went down to the front desk and requested a room change. I ended up switching to a room with two queen beds that was slightly further away from the elevator. This was a better experience and at least I didn't have to deal with the grimy shower floor anymore. After the first night in this room, I left a note for housekeeping to refill the shower gel. When I returned and took a shower that evening, the shower gel container was replaced with another shampoo container. So I had 2 shampoos, 1 conditioner, and zero shower gel. It was also weird that the towels were replaced, but the beds weren't made. So the next morning, I had to go down to the front desk and request that they remove the extra shampoo bottle and to please return the shower gel. The next two nights of my stay were uneventful, thankfully. Overall, it was a frustrating experience. read more

We had a recent trip where we stayed in Toronto from early afternoon to the next morning. The room fit our needs perfectly, the Supreme Room with one king bed. If it had been a longer stay we would have wanted something with more of a kitchenette, not just a mini fridge. We arrived by train and the walk from union station to Novotel was just a few minutes, the location was just what we wanted for exploring down town with ease. I read reviews of people recommending Scotland Yard, but we would absolutely recommend Dukes Refreshers on Front St, definitely worth the extra little walk (just take the Esplanade to Church, then Church to Front and you're practically there). It was a little difficult to get an uber to the front of the hotel for pick up, but we met the driver at the intersection of The Esplanade and Scott st which made it easier. All of the staff we encountered at Novotel were warm and attentive! We were overall very happy with our short stay. We were pleasantly surprised with being given accommodation with an early check in that really helped our afternoon plans. Room had some minor wear/tear but we weren't expecting much else as we got a great deal on the room. read more

This hotel was a mixed bag. The good: Location is great if you arrive by train. We had tickets to a play at the Bluma Appel Theatre so it was perfect. Lots of eateries and bars within easy walking distance. Our prepaid reservation included breakfast buffet each morning. The ambiance was nice. They leave a coffee pitcher on the table. Juices are cold and not watered down. Fresh fruit, smoothies, yogurt, kitchen cooked waffles and pancakes are available along with scrambled eggs (kind of watery), bacon and sausage. Lots of pastries and breads, too. The room was large but lacked drawer space. The bed was rather hard, but pillows decent. Body pillows are available. The mediocre or worse: There was no lotion provided in the room, but there was hand soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Our safe wasn't working properly. Three times we had maintenance unlock the safe or clear it so we could lock it again. The room had a backlit headboard that could only be adjusted on my husband's side. In addition to that, the reading light on my side also didn't work. So our new best friend, the maintenance man, came by twice to repair those issues. Every time maintenance was sent to our room the response was pretty fast, so no complaints on that. It's just that I have never gone to a hotel with so many issues in a two night stay. read more

It's ok. Don't be fooled by the pictures. This is not what I consider a 4 star hotel. I would give it 3 stars. The rooms are slightly dated, Wallpaper was peeling. Gym was fair at best. Hotel bar was ok. The bartender during the week was great, but there was only that 1 person trying to wait on a crowd from a sold out hotel. How is that good for him or the customers? Lovely guy, but seriously. The hotel staff told me they were sold out, could they not get him some help? On the good side the food was really good. The bartender was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was really spacious with comfortable beds. The best part is it's in really close proximity to everything. Cafe Nicole has a really good buffet breakfast selection for a great way to start your day. It's in a good safe area that I felt comfortable walking back to later in the evening with my 13 year old daughter. The next time I visit Toronto this with definitely be my go to hotel. Have had a lovely stay here!! It's right in the heart of downtown Toronto, everything is within a 5-15 minute walk away. The staff is extremely kind and helpful (especially the gals at the front desk) and the amenities are pristine. Everything is clean and smells fresh, I feel like royalty in this bed! I am a solo traveler so I don't mind the room, but I can see how a single king-bed room might be cramped for 2 people. Overall, would love to return here. Toronto somehow manages its combo big city/small town vibe very well because even a hotel as nicely appointed as the Novotel doesn't feel like a barricaded urban bunker where you feel ready to be frisked depending on how bored the security guard is. It felt more like a social hub for the plethora of attractions the city has to offer. For instance, St. Lawrence Market is literally steps away on the Esplanade. The CN Tower and the Distillery District are short strolls away in opposite directions, and the Harbourfront provides the calm of Lake Ontario within a twenty-minute walk. The hotel itself struck me and Jamie W. as high-end business class, which suited us fine even if the Design Within Reach-style decor was a bit by-the-numbers (photo: http://bit.ly/2Zpj79m). It was really about location, location, location for us, and the quick turn-off from the Gardiner Expressway was an added bonus. Our only minor complaint was the lack of clarity we had when we first attempted their convoluted parking structure. It took us an eternity and an unnecessary walk up a locked stairwell with our hefty luggage in tow to realize we were in the wrong lot. Yet, for a bargain $167 per night, we weren't complaining. This downtown Toronto hotel is located east of Yonge Street on The Esplanade in the St. Lawrence neighbourhood. It is rated Accessible and Pet-friendly. Front desk staff are professional; be nice at a minimum and you'll get that in return. This is my first visit to this Novotel Toronto Centre; very nice lobby! I'm only here to visit a guest staying in a room and he said the room was very nice so I can't speak first-hand of the experience. Just keeping my social distance with the COVID-19 situation and the safety of all. Novotel has parking and breakfast for guests available at a surcharge. WiFi is free. Many amenities like the bar, fitness centre, swimming pool + hot tub are closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. Showed up and they said my reservation was canceled. I had 2 and canceled 1, I showed it still active in my hotels.com account. He seemed lost and just typing and typing away, never apologetic, made it seem like my fault. He seemed so lost the other lady leaned over and asked if he needed help, he said no. After a long while he got me checked in, never apologetic, not even for the wait. Get to the room and it's cold, turned on the heater and set it to highest and let it run 1/2 hour but just cold air. Picked up phone and hit button for front desk. It doesn't work, just beeps. Does anything work? Dialed 0, said heater doesn't work, guy came up, I showed him, then he said can't fix since no maintenance on staff at night so only solution is another room. I said OK, he left to get a new room key, came back and said heater has been shut off so there will be no heat even if another room. He said nothing else can be done. What? Not even a space heater? Then he said it's just A/C, turn it off and the room will heat up. I asked so there's heat? He said no heat, but the room will heat up. He was very irritated and had horrible customer skills. Went to bed, woke up, he lied, temp still identical, it never warmed up. So it was a cold 4 nights. I left it off the entire time but 1 day I came back and it was on again (DND was on door). Is 22, 23 deg too much to ask for? One of the glasses in the bathroom had a drop of brown oil inside it. So gross. Room otherwise fine. Very unhappy. read more

LOTS of marketing & emphasis on the recent renovation. FWIW the rooms look good: spacious layout flooded with natural light, a fusion of minimal curved & sharp textures, modern wood laminate furnishings & floors, glossy bath tiling, walk-in rain shower, brand new mattress & Allerease toppers, Manchester Mills bedding, USB/USB-C ports in the headboard, smart AC system, bluetooth electronics, energy efficient LEDs throughout the room, and status quo coffee bar setup. But, despite the marketing hype, its considerably underwhelming & some of the contractor work is noticeably shoddy. Compared to other 4* hotels in downtown Toronto, it's simply not competitive nor a standout once you leave the grandiose lobby: Small suites, no room-service, lack of restaurant accommodations for food allergies & dietary restrictions, NOT DoorDash friendly, public Wi-Fi is abysmal (disconnects) while the 'premium' is overpriced ($15 CAD), Smart Samsung TV without casting or app support (minus YouTube), sealant gaps in floor, holes in ceiling, inconsistent cleaning in bathroom, cell reception isn't great even on the top floor. While the prices are certainly 4*, the remote work & staycation experience is a 3* at best due to large gaps in hospitality (recommendations, bell-service, knowledge of area, experience, etc) but the staff are friendly, eager to help & always professional. Check in was swift. The elevators were speedy with plenty of standing space. Noise levels were quiet & peaceful inside but the trucks outside were quite noisy. The bed was wonderful; a sturdy wood slat bed frame with plenty of pillows, & firm mattress plus toppers. The rolling desk-chair had great lumbar support. The actual work desk is a bit odd, sacrificing functional table space for an irregular aesthetic. The TV quality and channel selection was basic. The wall mount was a good attempt, but there's no swivel, tilt, or extension so watching from the bench, couch, or desk (anywhere but the bed) is strenuous on the neck & eyes. Popular Rituals bath products stocked but the shower head & corners were spotty with pink Serratia stains, so trying these was a no-go. The bathrobe, as well as the slippers, were very soft & light. We booked the Novotel at the recommendation of a friend who lives locally. It was a perfect location for us since we were only in town for two nights. It's very close to public transit and only a few blocks from the St. Lawrence Market. The property is nice. The lobby is modern like it was recently re-done. There's a cozy little nook to sit right off the entryway. Check-in and check out were quick and easy. Overall, our room was quite nice and also looked recently redone. There was a large TV that looked 4k, the bedside tables were simple with outlets and USB ports. One oddity was that only one side of the bed had a switch to control the lightning behind the headboard. The bathroom was bright and big and even though it didn't have an exhaust fan, the mirror managed to stay fog free. My only beef with the room was the thermostat; there's no way to turn off or dim the LED, which seemed to systematically go back and forth from dim to bright. The hotel is apparently pet friendly. Our first morning, we were woke by 1 or 2 loud dogs barking. Overall, the soundproofing could be a bit better. Overall, we enjoyed our short stay here and would return. read more

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Novotel and here is the play by play. It was a busy weekend and I don't drive TO often, but I managed and was grateful for the parking garage. It was easy to find, enter, and park. Once inside, we were greeted with smiles and had all of our questions answered. Our room was large and clean. I can tell they take pride in the cleaning and upkeep. It is located in the middle of everything! The location is convenient to most things happening downtown. There is also a lovely restaurant on the main floor with super friendly staff and reasonably priced food. The breakfast buffet is a must! Beautiful hotel but the wifi is absolutely horrible. They charge extra for high speed wifi which I have never seen at another Toronto Hotel before and i come here on business. Also when we went downstairs for breakfast they made us wait 30 minutes for egg omelets. I have never waited that long for a simple egg omelet with spinach. The waitress also claimed she told us it would be 20 minutes but actually she never did. She also had a passive aggressive attitude when we told her we had to leave shortly for meetings. Other then that the hotel was very nice and the bed was very comfortable (plenty of pillows which I loved). However the wifi alone will make me never come here again. read more

Stayed the night for a 40th B-Day party and all plumbing didn't work.. toilet, sink and shower! and wasn't fixed for our stay.. thank goodness we had other rooms to use for toilet, sink and shower! First off, I loved the room itself. Great layout, in which the bed is 270 degrees around from the front door and 180 degrees around from the bathroom. Picture sort of a giant, right-angled comma. I also loved the style and decor, and it was clean and spacious. In addition, there were so many little details that stood out: + A blue recycling bin right in the room + Wood (or fake wood) bathroom floors, so you don't slip as easily and they aren't freezing cold in the morning! Also, it's more handsome than tile. + DOUBLE roller blinds (not curtains or venetian blinds) to keep out the pesky morning sun; these things worked brilliantly. + A little sitting area by the window with two chairs and a small coffee table + Flat-panel TV mounted to the wall, which helps keep a clean, modern look by eliminating the common chunky TV cabinet + Dual shower options--the detachable "wand" and the ceiling-mounded "rain"-style shower head + Eco-friendly toiletries + Hands-down the best hotel tap water I've ever had: no taste of chemicals, minerals, metal, or anything else besides water. And ice cold! This is important to me because unless I can drink the hotel water, I get dehydrated when travelling because bottled water adds up, and I'm away from my home/work water-drinking habit. + Instantly responsive and efficacious climate controls + Newspaper which oddly came only on Tuesday (not Sunday or Monday) Two things keeping this great experience from five stars: 1. The parking garage is a nightmare. I read the reviews about it (here and on hotels dot com) but assumed that they would be finished by now. The garage was full, which is understandable, but it was extremely close quarters in there, and both the first and second floors ended in dead-ends, necessitating a fifteen-point turn to go back the way I came in. Thankfully, there was a public garage around the corner, with a pedestrian exit just a few steps from the hotel front door. But Novotel really should put up signs for alternate parking options, as well as to warn away anyone trying to enter the hotel garage. 2. The free wi-fi did not work at first (the landing page would not accept the password given to me by the hotel), and the front desk had to put me through to technical support. After a seven-minute conversation, the guy was able to set me up with access for the duration of my stay. But all I SHOULD have needed was a PIN. I'm moderately distrustful of what he had to do to give me access, but all I gave him was the IP4 address and no identifying information about me besides my room number. Hopefully I haven't been infected with some virus or identity-thieved or some such thing. All in all: fabulous room; good location, just where I like it--on the edge of downtown but within a few minutes' walk of the good stuff; a little rough around the edges with two of the amenities, but both quickly solved. This hotel is a glorified super 8 with a fancy facade. It is VERY loud. Good luck sleeping if anyone at all happens to walk down the hallway. The rooms are super dated. Original 1970s plumbing fixtures, toilet and tile. There was also a hole in my bathroom wall. The only things that have been updated are the bathroom counter and the room's lamps. The wood paneled mini fridge remains as a vestige of happier times in this hotel. Oh ps it's EMPTY. The Internet is SO SLOW that it was faster for me to use 3G. The cable tv went out twice. The pillows are lumpy, like they're stuffed with cotton balls. They don't believe in top sheets on the beds...? Comforter only. No complimentary water or coffee in the lobby. Unfortunately we were here on business, a conference was being held in the hotel. Never again.... read more

From the very moment I arrived, the experience was bad, as it always is when I stay here. If it weren't for the fact that I have to stay at this particular hotel for business, I would never come here again. There is a double set of doors to enter the building which are supposed to be motion-sensor activated. I always have two roller bags. the outer doors would not open and there is no doorman to help people. There is also no handicap button to open the doors. Complete FAIL. I had asked for a high floor when I booked. They put me on the second floor. For the price they are charging, I should get the floor I want. Because it was close to the ground level, the street noise was unbearable. Very limited coffee supplies in the room. I asked for more, they acted like it was a huge imposition. They blast lounge music throughout the hotel. They blast overwhelming air freshener throughout the hotel... what are they hiding??? The carpet, paint, etc. looks like it was leftover from the 1980s. Stayed here for three nights, no complaints. The best part is how well located it is. Some nice restaurant a and pubs right across the street and five min walk from the St Lawrence market, lcbo, pharmacy, train station etc. Room was clean, simple yet modern. Our basic room had flat screen TV, free WiFi, king size bed with three pillows however they were a bit small. Also if you have noisy neighbors, you can hear everything through the door. Staff is courteous and responsive to our needs. I would definitely recommend this place for a short stay. read more

Slightly puzzled by rather lukewarm reviews. My review is based on two stays in Novotel this year: March and May. First time stayed with the family and friends, and experience was less than perfect due to horrible construction noise early in the morning three times in a row. Frustrating, but it wasn't hotel's fault, and everything else was very good, but it ruined our stay. Second time, in May, stayed 3 nights for the conference in the city, and it was excellent, close to 5 star experience. From a very pleasant and competent check in process with the upgrade due to Platinum Accor status, all the way to checkout, everything was just right. Very good large quiet room on the top floor, nice decor throughout the room, and in common areas, very decent breakfast buffet, and friendly staff in the hotel and restaurant. The location is also quite convenient and central to everything, no complaints there. The price point is slightly more expensive than most of Novotels in North America, but still competitive. I would love to get back to Toronto, and my first choice will be Novotel! read more

I chose Novotel Hotel in Toronto because of the high reviews on Google. It isn't right in the center of the city and is in walking distance of coffee shops. Here is the break down after a 4 night stay at Novotel: Pros: - Close to Downtown: The 410 Freeway isn't too far off, so if you want to drive to downtown, the entrance is pretty close. There are also plenty of Tim Horton coffee shops, eateries, and farmers markets that are in walking distance. The hotel is also connected to a mall. - Fitness Center: The fitness center is decent where the windows overlook the busy streets. - Beds: The beds are comfy and I slept like a baby all four nights. There were no back pains! - Bathroom Size: There are large bathrooms with ample space to move around. I was impressed with the fact that it was bright and airy and didn't feel cramped at all. Cons: - Wifi: There was free wifi but it was pretty slow. It took a long time to load and we got kicked out frequently. We were staying on the 6th floor and it seemed to be a common issue for other people as well. - Clogged Sinks: The shower drain was clogged and took a long time for it to drain. There were parts of the shower pieces that kept on falling off. - Old Decor: The furniture is pretty dated here and the walls look like it could use another paint job. The lobby looks beautiful and modern, but it doesn't look the same when you go up to the other floors. Don't let the lobby fool you. - Pay for Parking: Your stay at the hotel does not include parking for your car. If you want to park in the hotel garage, it is an additional $17 per day. We were just given this information when we arrived and parking on the street is nearly impossible. Make sure you take this into account before you book with Novotel. Bottom Line: I'm sure that I can find other better places to stay. For the time I was there, it was fine...but the parking pay was a little much along with the shower parts falling apart. read more

My husband and I spent 5 nights at this hotel and were completely satisfied with the experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and bright. The rooms are a little small, but not inconveniently so. The bed was pretty firm and the pillows were oddly small. Maybe you'd want to bring your own if you're really particular. The bathroom was large and the water pressure in the shower was good. There was no microwave or fridge in our room, which was a bit annoying, but there was a coffee maker. I was able to convert currency at the front desk, which was pretty convenient. The free wifi was reliable and fast. The parking situation is a bit frustrating--the hairpin turn was hard enough in our large sedan but would be nearly impossible in an SUV. The view from our room was nothing to write home about...unless you want to write home about parking garages. The neighborhood puts you right next to a number of good restaurants (but beware some of the tourist-trappy ones, unless you're a tourist who wants to get trapped). I used the direct-line phone to the cab company nightly and always had one within 5 minutes. I also felt safe walking around the neighborhood after dark (granted, I wasn't alone, but it wasn't a sketchy place). For the price I paid, it was nicer than I expected it to be. By a lot. It was reasonably priced, got 4 days/3 nights for almost $500 3. Centrally located! Guest service was commendable and they assisted us whenever we requested Only issue is: when they come to clean the room, they don't touch anything of yours, which may sound appealing, but that includes never taking out towels unless its on the floor, and all the trash on the desk (random papers, old water bottles) are still left behind. The room itself was OK. Slightly a weird contemporary decor. The people who worked there were nice enough. Didn't try the pool. We had a view of crummy parking lot. The hotel's garage itself was downright scarrrry. I think it was $20/day with in and out privileges, but given how difficult it was to get in and out I'd not recommend parking there if you were wanting to go in and out a lot. I've never been in a parking garage where the ceiling was so low... we literally had to map out our route out of the parking garage so we were sure we weren't going to hit the roof. I spent 2 nights here last year and had a great time. The bed was so comfortable and had a great comforter. We didn't have the best view (the top of the parking garage...) and the room was a little small but we only paid $250 for two nights in downtown Toronto. There was a pool, a gym and a sauna that I checked out. They seemed clean enough but a little small. The staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful with finding us a place for dinner. There is a parking garage, but they make you pay to park there on top of the room rate (which I thought was a little lousy.) The area is great for walking around, right next to the lake and right across the street from some coffee shops and bars. I also felt very safe walking home after a late dinner, it's in a decent, well populated area. read more

This is a very convenient hotel. It is a very good hotel for business travel. Free wifi throughout the hotel, validated parking next door, and it is in a decent location. Toronto has clusters of industry and residential areas spread apart and this seems to be centrally located to everything. The rooms are spacious. Bathroom is big. My bed was pretty comfortable. Pillows could be a little better. Odd thing that the shower ran out of hot water. What I did not like was there were no convenient outlets near the head of the bed in the room with two beds. Room has stocked mini bar and a safe. I would stay here just to see the cute blond at the counter with that smile. Mmm. The manager was very accommodating since it was important that we had a late check out. Good people. The hotel was priced accordingly. I was here for a few days and it worked. The hotel was in a pretty decent location, not too far from the CN Tower and a 10-20 minute walk from the bustling Times Square-like downtown center (pardon my American ignorance, I just never got the name of that area). The beds were comfortable and the desk service was agreeable. The room service cleaned up well. Apparently kids 16 and under eat and stay free if they're in the same room as the person renting the room, so props to Novotel for that. I didn't try the breakfast but it was probably decent. Oh yeah, and free wi-fi. Frankly any hotel with free wifi will get at least three stars from me assuming the rest is decent, because considering how much one pays for a hotel room these days it's nice to have some complimentary internet access. read more

Location really would be hard to beat, super close to rapid transit, St Laurence Mkt, and a bunch of restaurants, bars, etc...the hotel itself, only "meh" though. I will say, I found the bed to be super comfortable, although my husband was bothered by the fact they don't do "top" sheets...there is a bottom, and a duvet. He's a bit of a diva...I really didn't care about the sheet situation personally! Strangely enough, there is no fridge in the room, but a "cooler". I don't really understand the point of that...it takes up the same amount of space! Weird. Room was nothing exciting, very basic, could definitely use some updating. The ambient temp was quite warm, even though the thermostat was set on lowest. My husband it always hot, and was not loving it. He called and asked for a fan, which was immediately brought, he had barely hung up the phone. The hotel has a small 1.5 M depth pool, which my kids and I enjoyed, and was not busy. It had to be one of the most boring vibed hotels I have ever stayed in, the room service, restaurant/bar did nothing to entice us in...but there are so many other options in the immediate vicinity, not really a big deal. Honestly it seemed more like a senior retirement community than a hotel! There were a lot of younger patrons staying at the hotel, but they did not "hang out" there at all. Where this hotel does surpass "average" is customer service. Before I even arrived, the manager on duty called me (after I had inquired on their website). I had booked on Priceline, and only was given the option of "2 adult" room and could not change it once I had bid. It would have been a 1 king bed room for my family of 4 (kids aged 10&12) which would not have been ideal. The manager fixed this issue with no problem right on the phone. Check in/out was painless, and the staff person looked over my bill to check for any errors (and fixed the problem that there had been 4 people all opening up their own "enhanced" wi-fi account.) To say that wi-fi is free is a bit disingenuous, to have any decent workability, you need to upgrade for 9.95/day. Parking is a bit pricey, but is in/out, self serve, and they let us park up until midnight on check out day. Extremely tight parking though, and the garage had a really awful stench, it was just kind of gross! I got a pretty reasonable deal on the room. I might stay here again if the price was right. read more

Hotel was decent and mostly clean - rooms are quite dated. Would not recommend going in Caribana weekend as staff did not seem to care about excessive noise on our floor at 3am. Also, the housecleaning staff clean the rooms really late (were still going after 6-7pm), which can make it awkward if your room is not yet done and you want to get ready to go out for dinner. This hotel was clean, The WI FI worked. The only thing that could make it better would be the restaurant pricing.. The Sunday breakfast buffet cost us a good deal of money and the quality was fair at best. For nearly 20 bux for breakfast, I expect made to order omelettes not BIG BOY type fair which I would say was pretty close. The restaurant brags about their breads and I did find them to be quite good but other than that nothing else was worth going back for.... read more

For our short one-night stay in Toronto, a well-located hotel was definitely a priority, so we decided the Novotel fit the bill well. The hotel itself is attractive and reminds me in many ways of those I've stayed in in Paris and London. The architecture and general ambiance exude a certain European quality which I really liked. The hotel generously let us check in super early (as we arrived around 8:00am in Toronto) and held our luggage the next day as we continued to sightsee after we checked out. The room we were given (for three) had one king-size bed and one pull-out sofa sleeper. Fortunately, we're flexible and generally cooperative, so we didn't complain, but had we been with children or more fussy adults, it could have been an inconvenience. The room itself was very tidy and neatly decorated with colorful accents. It was on the seventh floor so it had a sloped (attic-style) ceiling which (to me) added to the European charm. The hotel is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness which is great and we found the front desk staff to be helpful. There is an attractive restaurant off the lobby (we didn't get to try it) and a gift shop as well, so it has a number of amenities for out-of-towners. As I mentioned, we found the location to be superb and within walking distance to Saint Lawrence Market, Yonge Street, etc. which made our short stay all the more convenient. For a rate of about $115 per night, we were highly pleased and look forward to returning! read more

EVERYTHING was booked when I was in Toronto. We had a room at the Fairmont but needed an additional room so we switched to Novotel. No, not anything close to the Fairmont, but it was decent. I was there on business and had quite a bit of work to do. I was not fond of the lighting in the room. I could have done more illumination when I was in my room working. I went down to the restaurant and had a surprisingly good lunch with an extremly helpful and not overly attentive server. I really liked the restaurant. Would I return? Sure, it wasn't horrible. Would I look for something else first? Yes, but if I couldn't find anything I wouldn't have a problem staying here. read more

I've stayed at Novotel a number of times over the years and have always enjoyed my stays until recently. This was the first time I have paid attention to the accessibility at the hotel, and I must say it is NOT accessible to wheelchair users. This review is based on the accessibility of the rooms, or lack thereof. While the entrance is barrier-free with automatic doors, the room doors are not automatic and fairly heavy. The "accessible" rooms are not truly accessible. They have taken a few standard rooms (with only 30" doorways) and tacked on a few grab bars in the washroom. There is a grab bar by the toilet but the seat height is LOWER than standard. There are a couple of grab bars by the tub but no roll in shower. The combination of a small washroom, narrow doorway, lower toilet, and no roll in shower makes the washroom hazardous for a wheelchair user or someone with mobility issues. There is also very little space in the room and washroom for even a 16" seat manual wheelchair (total width is 24"), let alone a larger mobility aid like a power chair or scooter. The beds are also quite high making it challenging to get on and off of them if you have mobility issues. Having said that, the rooms are nice and clean, and the staff were nice. But if you require an accessible room, DO NOT stay here, look elsewhere, and be very specific about your accessibility needs. read more
