Not sure who spoiled me in Toronto more, my aunt or The Hazelton. It's definitely my aunt but The Hazelton was so impressive I couldn't imagine a hotel staff could provide such a world-class service. They do treat each person as a royalty or celebrity. In the beginning, hotel exterior, checking-in, valet and hotel lobby are all organized, clean and standard. You don't get wow'ed initially. But the experience of the room itself and the service are what make this hotel so special. The Hazelton is located at the posh Yorkville neighborhood of Toronto. It's part of Leading Hotels of the World (LHW). In Canada there are 3 location of this consortium. Two of them are located in Montréal and one in Toronto, The Hazelton. Fiji water is available everywhere, so you'll stay hydrated. All rooms non-EtOH beverages are free. The valet parking is standard. Rooms are two types, deluxe and luxury. Definitely go with the luxury as they're bigger and no huge difference in rates. The deep green marble of the bathroom is gorgeous. There are so many details in each room that you can't keep a count. After checking in, showering, Nespressoing then and going out, upon return, the room was fully serviced again as usual for 5 stars hotels. This hotel is as fancy as it gets and it will add to your Toronto experience. read more

Our two night stay at Hazelton Hotel was very impressive. It's conveniently located in the Yorkville district with lots of restaurants and shopping close by. They also have a fantastic restaurant on site called One Restaurant, which we had an excellent dinner at. The workout area and pool are not very large but their are an adequate number of weights and machines to suit your needs. The beds were super comfortable and they leave you a lot of snacks and drinks that other hotels may not include. We had very deep comfortable sleeps during a time there, which was the best part of our stay. The view was very impressive looking into a back alley and the washrooms were of a very dark marble color which we found to be very gothic. But the washroom facilities itself were great. Parking is valet only and $69 a night which I found to be very high. Overall, it was a very nice hotel, with a great staff, great restaurant and great beds! read more

For our first visit to Toronto we chose The Hazelton Hotel for its location and the boutique nature of the property. At first I was nervous about the sleeping conditions since our room (324) overlooked Yorkville Avenue. It turned out to be a nonissue, as the windows were double paned so very little noise came through. The Hazelton is well located for shopping, restaurants and museums - and close to the north/south subway which is very easy to navigate. It is also a relatively short taxi ride from Billy Bishop airport. If the weather permits, eat breakfast outside at ONE Restaurant. Both breakfasts we ate there were delicious. It seemed that a lot of non-hotel guests were enjoying breakfast, so you might have to wait for an outside table if the weather is nice. read more

Beautiful hotel, great service. One of the great hotels to try if you're visiting Toronto.

I was super pumped to go here and be apart of the vibe. There is an obvious snobbery among the locals and the servers. If you are not 'one of the crowd', they don't know how to bring in you in.... even if for the moment. It felt Ike high school BS, honestly.... very juvenile.... I am a pretty live and let live guy.... But to be questioned by some server about where I was sitting and whether the surrounding guests were 'ok' with it... stupid. It was an obvious open seat. She never even asked me for a drink order or offered me water... which she checked on the surrounding tables frequently. Not to return unless I bring the quarterback from the winning team. Could have been a dumb blind thing.... Not sure. read more

An absolutely beautiful room, good amenities, and great location! However the downfall for me was the bed. It was like sleeping on a brick floor. So uncomfortable that I ended up sleeping on the sofa for half the night. Great staff and valet parking. read more

I can't believe I forgot to review this amazing hotel until now! The Hazelton is famous for hosting celebrities during the Toronto film festival, but this gorgeous hotel is the ultimate treat if you're looking for ultra high-end service and ammenities. Our room was impressively sound proof; it wasn't until we stepped out into the hallway that we heard the guest next door to us practicing scales in full-out opera volume. So you shouldn't have trouble sleeping here, unless of course you spend all night watching TV from the bath. Bathrooms feature TVs in the mirror (watch from the tub for the most relaxing view), and heated marble floors. The L'Occitane En Provence bath products were also quite a treat! I received a spa gift card as part of my stay, and the spa was lovely. Private lockers and amazing service. For these prices, could you expect anything less? The only hard part about staying at the Hazelton is settling for anything less afterward! read more

Yep. I'm still loving this place. What's not to like about a hotel that treats everyone like a celebrity, and goes out of their way to make sure you have everything you want? The rooms are spacious, and I love that housekeeping is always nearby and yet you never see them, turning down the rooms at night and freshening them in the morning. And yet there is never anyone knocking on your door yelling "housekeeping" or showing up when you least expect them. And the food and drink served at the restaurant here is all delicious. I like to sit in the bar and enjoy one of their specialty drinks and just catch up with the locals who frequent this place. And the concierge staff here is amazing! Big requests or small, they manage to pull a trick out of their hats every time I am here. Love this hotel. Only wish I got to spend more time in Toronto to enjoy it! read more

The Hazelton Hotel is truly an exceptional hotel. I literally cannot come up with anything that wasn't superb in our most recent stay. My family and I spent 4 nights for a long weekend, and enjoyed every minute of our stay with a ton of credit to the entire wonderful team at the Hazelton Hotel. I mean entire, Doormen, Front Desk, Concierge, Cleaning crew, Spa team, Restaurant teams, so basically anybody and everybody we encountered there. Even before arrival, I had called in to request that the two rooms that I booked would be as close as possible to each other. I've had mixed success with promises to do so at other leading hotels, but the reservations team at the Hazelton, didn't just deliver, they upgraded our rooms to two connecting suites with our own hallway door. It's like we had our own apartment. This was our first visit with the kids to the Toronto area, so I called in to ask the hotel concierge for suggestions, and I was thrilled to connect with Dean who helped us book a Niagara Falls tour (which was perfect), walking tours, restaurant reservations, and more. It made our trip so much more productive and enjoyable, we wasted zero time looking for what to do. The hotel itself is immaculate, super clean, and has everything I need, including a posh gym and spa with all the trimmings. The Yorkville neighborhood the hotel is situated in, is also perfect for walking around, outdoor and rooftop dining and bars, and is just a pleasure to take in. Super easy to get to anywhere in the city from there. Last but not least, when we left to hotel, we forgot our camera bag (filled with expensive lenses and gear), and the cleaning staff immediately brought it to the attention of the front desk director, Heather, who reached out and was extra helpful in getting the bag and its contents to us quickly and unharmed, in a day! This hotel is now one of my favorites, we'll be back for sure, and will be sending everybody that we know that is headed to Toronto, to the best hotel in town. read more

When we arrived I tried to explain that we didn't want to sleep in the same bed as I had been working on a CoVID floor and my colleague had not, and despite negative PCR, we felt it best to maintain some distance...but they simply didn't have the space. I cannot conceive of that. But I accepted it. They moved us to a room the next day that was dirty and loud. This was the "upgrade." There were flies in the second room, handprints on the wood walls in the foyer, hair in my food at their restaurant. I asked for a quiet room, and they put us across from a parking garage, next to the elevator and across from a maintenance area. It was loud enough to need ear plugs at night. FLIES. Not a fly, despite not opening the balcony doors. We had arrived at 11:30 pm at night for check in so I asked that they adjust the stay by comping that night given all of the problems we experienced during our stay with the property. They waived "upgrade fees, valet and facility fees" instead. $300 was worth more to them than having me come back again and again and spend thousands more, which is a reflection of a change in management style. But the very worst was paying $700 or so a night for a hotel that had flies in the room. Flies, as you know are born of maggots that live in trash, feces and dead animals. We got rid of them ourselves the first night, they were a problem again the second. We told management, and 40 minutes later, when we returned from the pool, 40 minutes later, THREE employees were in the room trying to manage the problem. We, literally, two ladies, stood in the hallway in our bathing suits, literally, while they tried to figure it out. When they left, we set our things down, one of which included a cake for my birthday and when we came back, there were flies on that cake. Which we threw out. There was no point in calling them every time something went wrong as there were so many things that went wrong and they were gracious and sweet but not to the effect of actually fixing any of these issues, just to act surprised, conciliatory and in the end, return fees that were gratuitous to begin with. I will never stay at the Hazelton again and if I had any advice, I would tell you there are so many other lovely properties in Toronto, the Shangri-La, The Four Seasons...this property is trying to run in a race for which they are not qualified to be in. read more

My stay was extremely short but the rich experience exceeded my expectations. The rooms were spacious, especially the closets. I stayed in the Luxury Twin room and Bellair Suite. All the small details around the room were included to help promote a relaxing and premium experience. From the L'Occitane en Provence lavender pillow mist to help you have a better rest to the sugar bath cubes. For someone who doesn't own a large bathtub in their home, this was a huge opportunity for me to take advantage of. I made some tea, brought a book and called room service to bring some extra bubble cubes for the bath, which they kindly and promptly provided. Heated granite floors and television built into the mirror are a plus. Food is always good at the Hazelton, as it's from ONE. I frequent ONE for brunch with friends and family, so having room service from ONE was just the cherry on top. If you are new to the menu, try their Shakshouka, chocolate croissants and Boston cream doughnuts (which is filled with vanilla bean cream and topped with honey comb). Shout out to Marie Nguyen for providing such a personal and amazing spa experience during our facial session. She was super informative yet friendly and professional at her craft. The collagen mask does wonders! The hotel also has an indoor saltwater pool at the spa, however I didn't have time nor had a swimsuit. If you're from out of the city or country, take advantage of the fashion boutiques and department stores around Yorkville. Everything is within walking distance. If you're looking for a getaway or a holiday gift for your love ones, this is a great place to start with and add on the spa and dining experience. read more

One Restaurant and the Valmont Spa there are fantastic in every way. You really don't have to leave the hotel at all! read more

This is hands down the fanciest hotel I have ever stayed in. So every aspect of my visit was beyond outstanding. My sister booked the Hazelton Hotel for my bachelorette party and it was the perfect location for a relaxing and chill weekend adventure. Upon arrival to the hotel the staff were incredibly helpful with everything from assisting us with valet parking to bringing our luggage up to our rooms. I have never been treated so well at a hotel in my entire life. The room itself was unbelievable. From the spacious living room area to the super comfy bed I was blown away! The staff were again incredibly helpful by providing us with hypoallergenic pillows (the default ones are down filled) at our request and they arrived no more than 15 minutes after we called the front desk. Turn down service was fantastic (can you tell I usually stay at chain hotels?) and my maid of honour and myself were so excited to have chocolates on our pillows, cold water beside the bed and SLIPPERS! The bathroom was the highlight of this hotel stay. Important information, I am a tall person, 5'10" to be exact. Because of this, I was thrilled to see a bathtub I would be able to have a comfortable and relaxing bath in! It was probably the best part of the entire weekend! The heated floors were so lovely and the robes made me feel like a VIP! All in all this was the most wonderful hotel experience I have ever had. read more

OK, can't review the entire hotel, but I can review the downstairs lounge and lobby area. Dahh-ling, GORGEOUS. For those of you San Franciscans who need a reference point, think Redwood Room at the Clift hotel. Grand space, hardwood floors, black and white avant-garde photos of Penelope Cruz, Madonna and more. I really could spend some time admiring the space. The one thing I'm not a huge fan of is overpriced everything. I mean, a $20 glasses of diluted wine is a little much for me. I'm all for paying the big bucks for the best, but not a huge fan of style without substance. That said, this place is a very cool spot to dress up, look cute, and sip drinks with your pinky finger high! read more

I came here for a spa with a friend, which blew us away. We were served aromatic tea to relax our senses upon arriving. The tea was really tasty. The ambiance is muted and moody but nonetheless luxurious as it looks fancy with nice materials like granite in a gentle way. Compared to other spas I've been to that try to look heavenly Hazelton spa looks kinda dark. The pool was really gorgeous. It was tad bit small but believe it or not it was the most memorable part of the spa. We did facial, body scrub and massage, for which we have nothing but praises. My skin became silky smooth after the treatments. The body scrub was so thorough and it felt like i was given new skin. The massage was amazing. Be sure to go for the signature massage. Our therapists did brilliant job with relaxing our bodies. My body felt so light afterwards free of any stress. read more

This was my second stay at the hotel and it was even more phenomenal than I remember it before. The room was incredibly spacious and the black marble bathrooms were very luxurious feeling with the heated floors. They had a lovely guest services manager( I am blanking on his name) who my father and I spoke with quite a bit. He even hand delivered a list of the top restaurants in Toronto to our room!Everyone in the hotel went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic. I received a facial from Marie at the Valmont spa and it was the best facial I have ever had! My skin emerged feeling so dewy and my redness( I have rosacea) was greatly diminished. She also gives a mini massage during the facial and it was very soothing. Kimberly helped book me for a facial and she was also super helpful as well. I was sent away with a mini pack that included an eye patch for my travels and a Valmont eye cream! I really recommend the spa and this hotel in general. You also can't beat the location! We saw the Ritz downtown and the location was not good compared to being in Yorkville. read more

Located in the posh neighbourhood of Yorkville Hazelton Hotel touts class and luxury. Downstairs there's an intimate bar called One with good inventory of Scotch and other liquors. The restaurant in the back of the lobby is own and operated by the renown chef Mark McEwan. Rooms in this place are nicely decorated and are comfortable. Staffs are courteous and helpful especially Raymond who wouldn't stop until customers are fully satisfied. I would recommend this hotel definitely. read more

This hotel was simply perfect; The rooms are spacious, clean, good temperature, sound isolated, modern, etc. Absolutely no complains about them. The shower products are of quality and everything looks great and of top quality. The concierge is the best one I have ever met in a hotel, he made our stay flawless and recommended us the best restaurants and visits. I think it will be impossible to find a better one (Dean was his name). The gym lacked windows to the exterior but it was well equipped and offered complimentary water and some fruits. The breakfast was not buffet style which is my preference but it was ok (this is the only part of the hotel that did not reach my expectations). The area is beautiful with lots of stores and restaurants, the city center is not too close but you can walk there since the city is not too big. You can always take the subway or a taxi as well. read more

our fave hotel in T.O.--wouldn't stay anywhere else. rooms are large, comfortable and luxurious. located in a great cute little neighborhood (yorkville) with lots of good shopping and restaurants (we love the english gastropub across the street, the oxley). breakfast at the hotel restaurant is delicious and extra fun when enjoying the outdoor seating on a sunny day. love the spa here--hot stone massage is incredible. honestly everything is great about this place but the personalized, accommodating service is what distinguishes it from other 5-star hotels. loved the warm welcome back and chocolate covered strawberries in our room on our second stay. already looking forward to our return! read more

Extremely deep soaking bathtubs, heated bathroom floors, and the service was impeccable - the check in staff escorted us to the elevator, pointing out various features of the hotel. Been here a few times and they most certainly cater to men with money. I found the hostess quite judgemental as asubtle screening process seems to take place before confirming whether they can give you a table or not. Food very limited and overall very pricey. Customer services leaves much to be desired. The wait staff's uniforms are not tidy, appear messy and unclean. No cocktail napkins are provided while having drinks. read more

"THE BEST!!!" I must qualify, that if I could give 10 stars to the HAZLETON HOTEL, I would!!! I am very very particular, some might say I am overly critical. I have traveled the world staying everywhere from tiny tree houses to the most luxurious resorts, but there is no place like the HAZLETON HOTEL! I stayed for almost a month so I really got to see on a daily basis what makes this place so special. It's the people that work there. I have never ever had service like this. The staff were never ingratiating and were always genuine. I felt like I was part of the family. From Dina, Virginia and Myra at the front desk, to the marvelous Eskender who greeted me warmly every time I returned. All of the incredible valet staff who would go above and beyond helping me with ridiculous amounts of luggage and making sure that I always had a bottle of water with me in the car. There were days that I received personal notes from the housekeeping staff, one day returning after a particularly long day at work to a beautiful Origami paper boat on my bedside table. All of these small acts of kindness add up to a very very special experience. The rooms are understated and impeccable. There are huge amounts of closet and drawer space for a longer stay. Myra even accommodated my request for a larger refrigerator and a microwave. I asked her if it was possible for the kitchen to make me a special hot cereal every day and they were more than willing, even delivering it to me sometimes as early as 2am on my early work days. My housekeeper Elisabeth, without me asking, noticed that I was eating fruit, so she put a bigger plate and a fruit knife in my room. I've never ever experienced this level of detail and genuine compassion anywhere in the world. If I could I would permanently move into The HAZLETON HOTEL. read more

Beautiful, contemporary, well run. Rooms are well laid out and comfortable. Wifi is included. Very convenient. Staff overly friendly and accommodating. The surrounding neighborhood is trendy and beautiful with upscale shopping. 10 minute cab ride from the island airport. I have stayed there 2 times and would go back again. read more

Had an amazing stay there last spring. Yes it's kinda of expensive but actually reasonably priced compared to other 5 star hotels, and I honestly can't really recall such a good customer service from a hotel. The room was itself was immaculate and well designed, I stayed in a jr suite, and if you can push I strongly suggest the upgrade it's worth it. I'm not too familiar with Toronto night life, I'm not sure if there are a lot of bars in that specific neighborhood, but I was told it was one of the nicest neighborhoods in the city. I can't remember how the food was, but I liked the vibe of the hotel bar, laid back, not too pretentious or anything. I strongly recommend this hotel and definitely intend on staying there on future visits to Toronto. read more
