Once we got things started, Volusia County struck again and delayed our project more than 60 days requiring a Floor Variance, just before the holidays. They took their time processing everything. The entire time, Tim was patient and understanding. He kept in touch with us and did not waste time when we were able to move forward. He was a wealth of knowledge and guidance for us. His experience with materials, preparation, and construction documentation was valued through the entire process. Tim was very resourceful and when the county made things difficult, he had answers and local resources that cut time and kept things moving. If you are looking to get concrete work done, talk to Tim before you decide on a contractor, you will not regret it. We are VERY HAPPY with the results. This family-owned business works with you on overall design and materials. Then, they select one of their teams to estimate the plumbing and contracting work as separate estimates. You also order your fixtures and glass directly from recommended vendors. While this sounds complicated, Zelmar kept all the moving parts on schedule. Easy peasy. They gave me solid advice on what could and could not be done. This led me to make smarter design decisions. They recommended a layout which was much better than I originally envisioned. Their plumbing and contracting partners were outstanding. Easy to work with, strong execution, respectful while in my home and cleaned up after themselves. In particular, the attention to detail by Coates Contracting made me a fan. Little things like the placement of tiles so the grain continues, the level surfaces, etc. Home improvement projects can be so stressful, but this one was not. To directly address their continued claim they were misled and a rogue employee performed the install, we have on camera Ricardo Naldi (the registered owner) coming to my home to bid the job, and then himself and three other employees on the following days coming in RNALDI branded T-shirts and in an RNALDI labeled vehicle to perform the install. No one was misled; RNALDI had every opportunity to inspect the site and perform an assessment of the materials to be installed. They sold us the glue and the vapor barrier as evidence by the checks they endorsed and cashed. The result of the work speaks for itself. We relied on their alleged expertise and professionalism, as well as their assurance that their work was insured. I am not sure why either Ulysses or Ricardo continue to state here misleading information or deny responsibility for the work they themselves performed. We will now pursue other options in order to remedy this situation.
