How CKC Custom Homes Turned my Dream Home into a Nightmare…read more After being referred to CKC, Adrian, a CKC rep, stated that CKC was an "Award Winning" builder that could build my dream home, as I was retired from the military and settling in SA. Initially, the process was seamless, and Adrian took me to view stunning Dominion builds. After seeing the other CKC builds and reading their reviews, I decided to move forward w/ the project. I failed to have the contract reviewed by an attorney first, missing a better understanding of disputes, arbitrations, and the processes for terminating the builder if he failed to execute my vision with the vendors he selected. Now that the process is over, I can state that the Powell's failed to execute my vision without numerous errors, which some are yet to be corrected. I began my process in early April 2020 with no issues. The design process with my architect was flawless. I worked with Taylor, my designer, and the construction process was seamless. However, I started receiving numerous emails from the HOA about the trash and debris left on-site by CKC's vendors. Adding to my daily stress, the HOA served/fined me, stating that the homeowner was responsible for the builder they selected to build their home and halted the process until the trash was removed. Dealing with the trash and debris on my job site was frustrating, especially when I saw that the more affluent communities and job sites were trash-free and well-maintained. I often wondered why I wasn't receiving the same customer service, as my emails about updates and errors were either unclear or went unanswered. During the build, I sent detailed emails of my dissatisfaction to the Powell's about their vendors due to several repeated mistakes in the construction process. To date, 3 of my bathrooms have deficiencies in the grout and tile and are horrendous, missing the luxury in the details that the Powell's boast about on their Instagram pg. Throughout this project, I questioned the amendments provided and lost faith in the builder's ability to complete my home. I constantly ran to the house to check on the progress, as the rotating CKC team members left my project, frustrating an already chaotic process. While the project had some upward moments, an enormous crater-like damage caused by the vendors installing my Spanish tile roof became an omen that this project was cursed, despite my continued efforts to press for the standard they touted on their award-winning page. As this ordeal came to an end, it took multiple GMs to finally bring the project to a long-awaited close. Adding to the chaos, I had four closing dates because of the errors and the dates kept being pushed back, until I finally closed on June 28, 2023. At the end, I challenged the credits owed to me at closing, but received no response from the builder. To end the ordeal, I accepted the home, hoping the errors would be fixed post-closing and addressed w/ my attorney. While many issues were resolved, my credits were not, and my million-dollar project has bathrooms that look like they were completed on a budget, as my tile installer told me that he was a tattoo artist that tiled on weekends. CKC denied some of my warranty items even though they clearly created the errors and refused to honor their warranty (emailed conversations posted on Instagram). To conclude, this was a horrific experience that I felt the needed to share, as CKC cherry-picks what they show on Social Media. I found AI-generated photos of my home on their website, yet they chose to omit the horrendous shower photos of my bathrooms. To ensure transparency, I created an Instagram page, JusticeSeeker29412, highlighting my CKC journey, including emails and text messages. I want potential clients to have informed opinions about moving forward, which I didn't have. If I had seen the photos I've shared on my Instagram of the home they built for me, I would NOT have entered into a contract with this builder. "Dissatisfied Customer, if I could give Zero Stars I would..."

I am thrilled with the contract I closed today and must give 5 stars! Do any builders in San…read moreAntonio Texas have more beautiful designs than mine or those here? https://www.ckccustomhomes.com/ I don't think so! Kassie, Marisa, Nicole and team were wonderful and worked so hard to make the new home beautiful. They were responsive, worked super hard on getting great offers, and really did their best on my custom home project! The 3-D designs were gorgeous. They made all the decisions so easy. I am so happy and grateful. They are much appreciated and I cannot thank you enough. CKC's architect David is someone whom I honor. His beautiful design and his talent and eye as an architect are impeccable. He captured my vision perfectly. I am so excited to start construction and happy we signed the contract today. Blessings on everyone at CKC Custom Homes, such a talented and professional team. Best regards, Eliza Hines
