I only give this place a 2 because the person I was working with was really nice. Here is my story: I was living in North Carolina when I began conversing with a recruiter at NRI. I knew I was moving soon so I wanted to get everything done as quickly as possible so I could start work asap. I took a long series of test and scored really well. With experience in Property management as well as a paralegal I as assured they had plenty of opportunities for me. I submitted my resume before had and solidified an interview for the day after I arrived to DC. Needless to say, and very long story short, I was called twice a week with different positions and they never landed me a position not even once. I was working 2 days after I arrived with another agency in a law firm, so my resume was not an issue. They called me about positions every week for almost two months and I finally just told them I didn't want them to call me any more. For them to be a staffing agency, they are really not good at what they do at all. You can't be a staffing agency and never land anyone not even a part time position. Go in there if you want your good resume to be criticized and then never hear from them ever again, are they even working?

I was contacted after applying for a position thru craigslist by a Kim Kilmer. She was very enthusiastic about my resume and set a date for an interview immediately because she said she had the best position for me and didn't want me to miss out! WHAT A LIE! I was told that I would only be there for the most an hour. After meeting with Kim for a few seconds I was placed on a computer to fill out a form, then told to complete a bunch of test. After I completed the test I interviewed with her for 30 minutes then three other agents. Things seemed to be going extremely well. I was given hope that in no time they would be able to find me a new position. All three of the interviewers made it seem as though I was a great fit for the position and informed me that I should get a suit before the weekend because I would be sent out for interviews the following week. I was walked out by Kim 2 to 3 hrs later and told to call and follow up the call with an email by the end of the week. This was a Wednesday. On Friday I called Ms. Kilmer and followed up with an email. No response. I waited until the following week and sent another email, no response. This is now the week before the holiday and sent a third email and got a auto response stating that she would be out of the office until Dec 27, 2012. Figuring that I would finally get a response after she returned I did not bother to send another email after Dec 27, 2012. When I returned from my holiday break and still no answer on Jan 2, 2013 I called once again and followed up with an email, and not to my surprise NO RESPONSE. I waited a week and decided that I would call her supervisor to see if maybe something was happening and she was let go or she quit, as this was extremely unprofessional to not respond to your emails and or phone calls. I spoke to a Sonya who was Kim's supervisor about the situation and she stated that it was extremely unprofessional and would look into the situation as it is not OK for her employees to ignore their clients. She looked up my resume and interview information and seemed a little confused herself as to why I was never called or sent on interviews. Especially since it had been almost two months since I was interviewed. She requested if she could follow up the next day with me to let me know of the outcome. Two days later I get a call from Ms. Kilmer informing me that as of right now I do not fit into any of the positions they have ( basically that they do not want to put me up for any positions) and that they would keep my resume on file and keep me in mind should a position become available. What happened to all the jobs I was being coached and informed about?? I guess I was no longer the best candidate? This is just bad business. As if this is not bad enough, I found a position thru a friend possibly working as a temp to hire for a government position. Being that it would be somewhat short notice they requested if they could speak to a hiring/temp agency that I had previously interviewed with. Thinking that everything went well on my interviews with NRI I called to speak to them about possibly helping me get this position and for them to speak to the new company looking to hire me. After being told that Ms. Kilmer would be out of the office until Monday and that I could email and leave her a voice message to request her assistance I explained that she does not return calls and that I was having an issue with her. Rudely the "acting" receptionist interrupts me and states that she is not suddenly the receptionist and is the accounting manger and is running into a meeting and cannot help me. But did you not ask my problem ten minutes ago and request that maybe you could help me?! I would not recommend this company to my enemy let alone any professionals. If this is how they work with people that have great skill sets and all they do is lie. Look for a professional agency that is actually looking to hire the correct people for the position. They they wonder why the same companies come back to them to fill the same positions?? Maybe its because you guys don't hire based on skills but maybe on skin color or race. read more

I was originally contacted by Kim Kilmer who was very impressed with my resume. She made it sound like they had several positions available all over Montgomery County making the same money I was making. And the positions they had in DC were even higher paying. I met with both her and Catherine Mitchell, who basically steered me in a position that was the complete opposite of what I wanted. They originally built me up to tear me down to make it look like this was only position they had like I wasn't a great candidate after all. This staffing agency does not care anything about matching the right candidate with the right position. They only place a warm body in a position, and they disappear and they do not even follow up to see how everything is going. STAY AWAY FROM THIS AGENCY, IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD! read more

I thought it was just me... I actually recently went back to NRI after working with them several years ago. Everything said in the two posts above is correct. I also worked with Kim Kilmer this time around, and yes, she and her colleagues were very eager to meet me, loved my resume, background and test scores, as well as the good references I had from working with them previously under a different recruiter. I too was informed that they had a number of positions I would be a great fit for. And then... the next week I called, got a voicemail and Kim never called back. This went on for about 2 weeks. Then another lady by the name of Catherine kept emailing me instead of calling my cell, although I informed both of them that I currently did not have email at home. Then she claimed she was calling, but I never received anything because she was calling the WRONG NUMBER. I specifically expressed my need for a PERMANENT position, and that I would only take temporary if it was more than likely to become permanent. So after several weeks I was placed on what I was told was a "temp-to-perm" assignment, only to find out after spending a month in the position that it was temporary and that the position hadn't even been approved on the company end. Then after knowing my salary preferences, they placed me in a position making 50% less than my last position!!! How does one with a family survive off of a 50% pay cut?? Every time I called Kim to ask the status of the position, after several unanswered messages and emails, I finally received an "i don't know." Little did I know... "i don't know" was going to be the theme of our conversations from that point on. I don't understand how you can NOT KNOW the status of a position you put me in. In addition to other issues beyond their lack of communication, I had issues with my payroll that they didn't know how to resolve, and lastly, here's the kicker... As I'm still actively looking for jobs, I come across a job listing, posted by NRI, in the exact preferred location I asked for, doing EXACTLY what I do, in the EXACT salary range, DIRECT HIRE, not temporary, and guess who the recruiter was?? None other than my own Kim Kilmer. When I reached out to her about my dissatisfaction of "not knowing" my status and that I needed to continue my job search for something permanent, she pretended that she had to check with other recruiters to see if they had something. When I mentioned the ad I saw... I got no further response from her. I guess the cat had her tongue. It became apparent that they were more interested in filling their quota than findind me the job of my dreams. LOL. Their loss... because I have since gotten back in touch with a previous agency I worked with before NRI who is working a lot harder to get me employed on MY TERMS. read more

If you want a job, DO NOT contact them. I spent over 2hrs in their office & did not receive one phone call after I left. I recently moved to DC & was looking for a position. I submitted my resume & gave a summary of why I was here, what I had done previously (all admin/office) & what I was looking for. I said I needed something metro accessible & in the DC/MD area b/c I didn't have a car. I was contacted the next morning. The 1st thing she asked was if I had already moved to DC. That was my first clue she didn't read my info because I had included that. I explained to her my situation & that I was looking for some temp office work. We discussed my previous position working at the FRONT DESK of a dental office as the hygiene treatment coordinator, my previous positions & the work I was looking for now. All of this info described the OFFICE/ADMIN work I had done & was all on my resume/cover letter I sent. After I had talked about my previous work history for about 10min she asks me, "So when you were at the dentist's office, did you see little kids?" I thought this was a weird question, but I told her the office saw anyone from 5yrs old & up. Then she asked, "So are all your credentials/licensing up to date?" I was confused b/c I don't have anything, so I asked her what she meant. Her response astounded me. "As a hygienist, are your credentials up to date?" Um, what?! I told her, "Uh, I'm not a hygienist. I just worked at the front desk." Her response was oh, ok. I was kind of in shock b/c clearly she had not listened to anything I said or read my resume. At the end she asks AGAIN if I had already moved to DC. I am pissed but need a job so agree to come in. She tells me I will would be there 1-1 1/2 hrs. She sends me the paperwork & directions to the office. I also complete 2 online assessment tests. One is a basic office test, the other on dental terminology etc. The next day I follow their directions on how to get to the office. Long story short, even their DIRECTIONS are terrible. After I finally get there, my recruiter wants me to fill out their computer application. Except all the rooms are full. All I can think is, "she seriously scheduled me to come in at this time & they don't even have a room?" We finally get one & she says that she has another test I can take, on phlebotomy. She asks me, "You work with needles right?" WHAT?! I tell her, "I am not a medical professional! I worked the front desk at a dental office!" She acts like she remembers & says she will be right back. 10min later she comes in & asks for my paperwork and a resume. She shows me how to use the computer to call her when I am done. I wait 20min after I call for her to come back in, look confused & leave. I wait another 5min & she comes in & says, "(My Name) right?" SHE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHO I WAS!! We sit down & she starts by saying, "so as a hygienist..." I tell her, "I am not a hygienist! I worked at the front desk!" She looked confused & looked at my resume & said, "but here is says...hyg-hygen" I break in & say the words written on my resume. HYGIENE TREATMENT COORDINATOR. She couldn't even read what it said. I told her that was my position's title & that, like I told her on the phone yesterday, I worked at the desk. She said that's just called office staff. Not when you work in a huge office, & the description of my OFFICE WORK was under it. She asks me a few questions & mentions being a hygienist again. I just stare at her & say, "I am NOT a hygienist. I JUST told you that." I literally told this woman FIVE times that I was not a hygienist. Nowhere on my resume did it say I clean people's teeth. Finally she says she wants me to talk with the person that actually would pitch me to a client. She leaves & comes back a few min later & says that woman will be right with me. I keep looking at the clock waiting for this person to come. Not once did anyone check on me. I wait over 45 min & plan to leave if she doesn't come before the 2hr mark. She comes in 10min before I was going to leave & doesn't even acknowledge that I have been waiting. The 1st thing she says is (cheerfully), "So I hear you are a hygienist!" I am about to lose it. "No! I am not a hygienist! I have told her FIVE times already that I am not a hygienist, and I am getting really frustrated." She seemed surprised and says she will talk to her. Turns out this woman is the promoter of MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS. I don't even need to be speaking w/ her, but she will send in the woman that handles the admin side. I wait another 10min & speak to that woman for about 5. I tell her what I am looking for (no car remember) & she tells me about 2 positions that would be impossible to get to. She obviously isn't listening to me either. I was in the office over 2hrs & was actually doing something about 35min. I left more furious than I have ever been. I am ashamed that a company like this is in business & I wasted my time. Worst part, these people had a job & I didn't. read more
