I should have composed a review late November when I was let go or December 2024. Elite Personnel VP contact NHG and manager EH contacted me about a Contract Travel Accounting position for a large union International Brotherhood Teamsters IBT near the Capitol downtown DC. It was a temp to hire staffing assignment and looking to start Monday August 12. Interestingly, I just relocated from NYC July 31, 2024. I had to work 500 hours to become permanent. I already interviewed three other staffing recruiters and a Silver Spring MD direct hire HR employee which they were stalling with pending next steps in the interview process so I prioritized my time and took IBT staffing agency to survive. Although the pay rate was $29 hour and it was non-negotiable per NHG so I had no choice. She "lowballed" me since my salary was $65,000 from my previous NYC local employment for nearly seven years. My duties include verifying and auditing employee travel expense reports and applying LM2 schedule for accurate coding using SAP Concur software and processing travel-related vouchers on Microsoft Dynamics XL formerly Solomon Edwards software. I was grateful to learn two new software SAP Concur and Microsoft Dynamics. I loved data entry processing travel related vouchers since it keeps me busier than verifying expense reports which caused me to doze off occasionally. Travel Accounting manager TB I thought I worked well with signed my weekly timesheets mostly. This racist Travel Accounting supervisor JF was and is arrogant and indifferent toward temp employee as a Black male and normally out of the office a lot leaving less work for me to do. JF and I were not on the best terms. The other four other Travel Accounting employees trained me a certain way to verify and audit expense reports. I explained to him during two performance evaluations September 17 and November 1 for the reason for my swift delivery and attempted to avoid careless errors and I acknowledged my breakdown to him and to TB. JF applauded my data entry and admin related work with limited and no errors. I expressed oftentimes sitting at my desk unproductive and idle for a long time whether I am working slow or fast. He and TB admitted about some down times which expense reports aren't coming regularly. Staffing agency RHI sent a black woman temp to handle back logs for both Vietnamese permanent employees out of the office in late October. She and I share the same birthday, and she has extensive accounting background including travel accounting experience from a large NW DC university. JF asked me to train her on processing travel expense vouchers and she acted pompous and kept interrupting me in the process. She asked some of the questions repeatedly and cosplaying from making careless mistakes and she did tasks her. She implied JF and another white female temp employee explained the best way opposed to mine so I just ceased training her and talking to her. Their ice was and always colder than mine. I refused to work in a spiritual and gender warfare toxic environment feeling disrespected by her and the co-workers. I am beginning to feel uneasy working with the temp and how she tried to undermine and sabotage me along with JF especially with my 500 staffing assignments are set to expire November 25. I addressed my concerns to TB. Finally, NHG called to inform me Wednesday November 27 to confirm my last day since the Accounting Manager TB and/or JF informed her I was "frustrated" with the lack of consistent and regular work and my refusal to accept permanent offer since they pay once a month according to TB and other employees. Also, I refused to work in a toxic environment feeling disrespected by HR, cafeteria staff, "raccoons" security, and many union employees. read more

I've used Elite Personnel twice... once after graduating undergrad and again last year when I was looking to get back into the workforce and both times have been a blessing. Straight out of undergrad, they were able to place me on a temporary assignment that lasted for about 2 months, and then when that ended, I was placed in a more long-term admin front office role. When nothing else worked to put my degree to use, I could count on Elite to get placed somewhere, and luckily for me, they seem to have great connections all throughout the DMV so I didn't have to wait too long before I would hear back with a potential opportunity. Disappointing. I started off with Elite Personnel in April of 2019. I had been out of work since December. After a long evaluation and short Skype interview with this Temp Agency, they started me off doing Data base entry with Wellness Corporate Solutions in Downtown Bethesda. The job was very tedious. Hours and hours of endless scanning and counting through hundreds of papers. After 3 weeks I was suddenly let go from the job position without any notification. Elite Personnel just pulled me out of the the job saying "it wasn't good fit" for me anymore. In less than a week they started me off with another assignment in Cyrstal City VA working in Facilities Department. Job was great but only lasted for two weeks. I was filling in for someone going on vacation. A staffer from AIR in Crystal City was leaving and were looking to fill the position temporarily. Elite Personnel offered me the job but at last minute notified me that the job had been cancelled. Since then I have tried to call them several times and just get a response saying "We have not yet found a job that matches your skill set sorry for inconvenience." It has now almost been 5 months that I have been out of work and have not heard anything regarding job opportunities from the Elite Personnel Temp agency. One star because they appear to be friendly. Applied for a job through Craig's List for a "Program Assistant". Which now I know never existed or if it did it had long been filled. They put you through extensive on-line testing and more testing in office. Which I don't mind if it was being done for a real job. Then there was a Skype interview. Nice lady on other end. She said they would be in touch. I'm not an amateur. I've been in the workplace for years and have extensive skills. Never heard a word from them again. Got the impression that they did not have a lot of clients. Waste of time. read more

If you are desperate for a job or have zero work experience, Elite is the place for you! On the other hand, if you have held any job for any length of time, then Elite is a joke! If you have a degree (or two) and 10 years+ work experience, they will hook you up with a demeaning $15 per hour job cleaning coffee pots and doing data entry. It's really sad that in today's economic climate these staffing agencies continue to post fake jobs online in hopes to gain applicants, when they have no intention of even placing you on an assignment. Elite personnel are not the only ones who do this but since I interviewed with them, a long process that involved me even completing more paperwork and taking more tests after I arrived at their office. I also had to take several online tests prior to interview(All of which scored high on, btw). I was told after the interview they would need to contact my references and would be in touch. Never heard back from them, I followed up with my references and all of them confirmed that this agency never even reached out to them. They were basically interviewing candidates for metrics purposes and to meet quotas. A complete waste of my time. This agency and many others are notorious for this. Advertising opportunities that don't exist, only to tell you once you arrive that their client decided to move forward with another person or that you were not a good fit for the position. But hey what do they care, they have FT employment and on the payroll so it's not of their concern. I've worked with other agencies in the past and what I do know is if an agency is interested in a candidate they waste no time in having you complete tax documents, following up with references, and sending you on assignments. read more

I had a great experience finding temporary work with Elite Personnel. I moved to the DC Metro Area in late December from Hawaii and was desperate for a job to get my foot in the door. I stumbled upon Elite Personnel early January and they were able to get me a temporary position at a wellness company in Bethesda. I have to say that working for this wellness company was one of the best employments in my life. Though it wasnt applicable to my professional goals/career, I geuninely enjoyed working there. I was assigned to that company for only a couple months but was asked to stay longer. I now work on Capitol Hill. Laura and Patrick are quick, nice people, and were very helpful with getting me my first job in the DC Metro. Thanks to them, I'm glad i was able to get such an experience. People need to understand that temp agencies cannot guarantee you a job and there are lots of applicants. If you go through a temp agency, remember that patience is key! I recently moved to Maryland to live closer to family, and for the first few months I attempted job hunting on my own and through Office Team (an agency I'd worked with before in Boulder) but had little success. In the spring of 2018, I heard about Elite Personnel--my mother's friend raved about how quickly they helped him and a couple of his friends find temp to permanent positions. Since at the time I was still only in temporary positions, I reached out to Elite. Within two weeks of my telling them I was seriously interested in anything they could come up with, they were offering me a summer temp job with an insurance company they regularly offered help during rush. Within a week of that job ending in August, Elite offered me another temporary job with a law firm in D.C. And when that one ended, it wasn't long before they were talking about a temporary to permanent position with Erickson Immigration Group, another law firm near D.C. In mid-January I was offered a temp-to-full position there. EIG is a great place to work, I met several other people who had also been sent here from Elite Personnel taking the same path I have, and I smoothly transitioned last week from a temporary employee working through Elite Personnel to a full-time employee working with EIG. My employment since May of 2018 has come to me through Elite Personnel. I never doubted that they were looking for a permanent position to put me in. One of the things that struck me in the temporary positions is how so many of the companies they sent temporary or temp-to-full workers have a very clear long-term relationship with Elite. The companies trust Elite to know how to match employees with positions. After breaking my heel, it wasn't very practical to continue pursuing a nursing career (happened 2 months after I got my license). So...there was a time when I needed to start working...fast--I don't remember how, but I ended up at Elite. One day after the interview, they called me with a full time, 5 week, assignment. They placed me at a great company a few weeks after that assignment ended on a temp to hire contract. I now work there with some really nice people (that's important to me). I was really surprised to read the review about the owner. I see her most times I go to pick up my weekly check-she always asked how things were going at the job, and was interested in my answers. (Maybe ownership has changed since the 2009 review? Only ever had one small pay problem (there was $1 difference in the rate one week-they responded quickly, and added it to the next week's pay check).While I was on the contract, I went to their office to pick up my check every week-it was always ready (for 3 months). I started out on January 1 as a widow, no degree, an employment gap of two years, but plenty of experience. Elite Personnel were the first agency to contact me in January and sign me up. They sent me to two jobs, and the second one hired me on February 8. Elite believed in me, they were efficient, kind and friendly, and they helped persuade my new employer to hire me directly (not temp to hire). I was stuck in rut looking for a new job as a new college graduate. In my desperation I sent my résumé over to this company, in response to a general ad that they had on Craigslist. I got called in for an interview, and was impressed with the office and the friendly staff. I was assured the interview went well and would be eligible for positions once my application was complete. (Reference checks etc) So after about two weeks of waiting I get an email stating that my application was complete. After I recieved this email, I called once a week to let them know I was available. However, every time I called I was given some excuse. After about 3 weeks I asked what the next process is after I have completed my application, and I was left with the response "nothing, you pretty much wait for a position".
